I spoke with Josie who is very personable and sweet. When I asked if I could come by to see her facilities she told me that she is not doing tours... She gave me a rate of $50.00 per kitty even though they were going to be boarded together. That's a $100.00 a day. I sent her all the medical information along with her form completed along with pictures of my kitties. She gave me three choices to pay for the deposit.... Cash, check or cashier's check was $400, Zelle was $404.00 and if you paid with a credit card higher due to the fees. I sent her an email to ask why there was an additional $4.00 for a Zelle payment when Zelle and most banks and credit unions do not charge fees. I sent out the email on Sunday and have not heard back. In the meantime I found another A Country Cat House located near Tampa that is owned by the brother, I asked about company policy regarding customers being able to come and visit the facility and was told they always allow customers to come and visit. Because most people like to see where they are boarding their babies. I told her what Josie's policy was and she said they do things a bit different. I then asked her about their pricing and was told that if you board two kitties with them, they place them in connecting kennels for $60.00 a day.... Not $60 for each cat, they charge for the kennel size.... I was astonished.. Needless to say they will have a new customer once we finally move up there, however I am going to pass on Josie's. Only because with all the research that I have done, when a business does not allow you to check their facilities out, that is a red flag, so that and her pricing is why I will be looking elsewhere. Josie did reach out to me and explained to me why she hadn't been able to get back to me. Josie also explained that she would allow me to come and check out her facilities and try to work with me on pricing. Her reviews are exceptional except for the few incidents that were not favorable which we discussed and I was satisfied with her responses. I am still not quite convinced she will be in my budget. I have been using A Country Cat House's boarding and grooming services for over a decade, and their care and dedication are second to none. Amongst my cats, Mini frequently visited for grooming services. During one of his 2020 haircut sessions, Josie reported that they noticed certain changes in his muscle mass and coat compared to his last grooming and suggested that I take him to the vet to check him out. I followed her advice, and in effect, Mini was diagnosed with renal disease. From that moment forward, the vet changed the diet. As Mini has always been a picky eater, I counted on Josie's tips and recommendations on how to deal with it including in many times moral support for me. I was blessed with four more years of quality time with him. Sadly, due to this disease, he passed away at home last month. This experience has made me realize that we cat owners might not necessarily have the knowledge or experience to recognize underlying health or behavioral issues on them. I want to express my gratitude to A Country Cat House because I always counted on their support. It has become my cats' second home, and I always feel calm and reassured when I leave them there. If my cat could talk... She would have told me she felt itchy after we took her for a few walks outside (yes, they make leashes/harnesses for cats!). Then I would have known that she had fleas before they invaded the apartment. So I had to find somewhere to keep her for the weekend while we bombed and cleaned everything. If she could talk I'm sure she would tell me that she's more excited to go to a self-proclaimed "five paw feline resort" instead of the vet. A Country Cat House was cuter and cheaper ($25/day) than my vet and I could pay a little extra to get her groomed. I was also able to drop her off Saturday morning, instead of having to take her to the vet Friday during their business hours. When we picked her up Monday morning, she would have told me that she didn't like getting a bath, but she did like daily brushings and playtime as well as watching everything from lizards to horses from her "kitty condo" window. (This information came from Josie, the owner who is very enthusiastic and nice, albiet a little slow with email - I recommend calling.) Josie and the Country Cat House is simply put, the very best cat groomer in town. Especially for long haired or Persian cats. She's thorough, clean, takes care of the nails, sanitary clip- all of it. She also has an AMAZING way with cats- she understands all their different "ways." Her advice about food, clipping nails, training, eye care, vitamins, behavior, vets- everything- is spot on. We normally leave our cats at home and have someone stay with them or come over to feed them and such, but last time we went traveling my husband and i were going to be away for a good 3 weeks and plus were having our place renovated, there was simply no way we could leave the cats at home this time around. So i came to trusty Yelp to find a cat hotel or cat sitter, and found A Country Cat House. After reading all reviews we established this would be our solution. I did not want to leave my cats boarded at the vet, where they have also dogs there. One of our kitties is very skittish and gets nervous around other people and both of them hate dogs as well as other cats, so it was very important for us to leave them at a place that was comfortable, specialized in felines and did not have any other animals like dogs in there. I contacted Josie though email and she replied back after a couple days. We set up a time so my husband and i could come to visit so we could see the cat hotel. The place is far from us but when you want your kitties well taken care of, distance is relative. Especially when you will be away from them for so long. Place was clean, nice and kitties have their own rooms and do not have contact or even visuals or other cats, which was good for our cats. The prices are reasonable and i liked the most that Josie has plenty of years experience with cats, as well as her staff, which are trained to deal with cats behavior and issues. Also we requested that both cats were boarded together, which was possible to do. The space in the crates are not big but they have nice views and it is a relaxed atmosphere. We gave her a deposit ahead of time so we could reserve a spot. We dropped off the kitties and went away. All went well and once we came back the cats looked good and well taken care of. A Country Cat House was very convenient for us and seemed that the cats did well there. We like to travel and will definitely use Josie's services again. She is nice and personable and you can tell that she really loves cats and cares about what she does. The only downside is that it usually takes a couple of days for Josie to respond to emails or phone calls, but i think this is due to the fact that they are continually very busy. I have left my cats there for up to two weeks, and they are always in perfect condition when I return. Josie is a very sweet and detail oriented owner of this cat ranch. The setup of condos and play area are very well kept and clean & the kitties have a wonderful view of the ranch. My two kitties stayed in a 3story condo. I was worried because I have a skittish kitty and one very outgoing one, but when I picked them up, they were their happy selves. No strange behavior when I got home either. Josie was also very knowledgeable about my kitties and it was clear that she spent time getting to know them and care for them. I contacted Josie about a year ago when I needed boarding for my kitty due to renovations being done at my house as I didn't want to stress my kitty out with all that noise and people. The renovations got delayed eventually so I didn't need her services. I'm a little late posting this, but better late than never! We brought Shadow to ACCH for a few days when we traveled home for Christmas and we are so happy with how everything turned out! Our kitty is a pretty easy going guy so w weren't too worried about him getting upset with us, just worried that he wouldn't have enough space and feel too cooped up. When we brought him we got to sit down and chat with Josie who made us feel very comfortable leaving our fur baby halfway across the country! While my ideal option would be if my shy cat can stay at home, but since he eats only wet food that is not an option. I am hesitant to have anyone come to my into my apartment, so I can only board little Royce when I travel. Josie is so sweet - she has a little interview with you on your first visit to figure out your cats personality, routine, and his adoption conditions. She then shows you how which suite your cat will be staying at. When picking up Royce, she was very realistic about my cat. She told me he was nervous (as I expected him to be), and barely let them clip his nails, which I also wasn't surprised about. I have been a customer of A Country Cat House for years. They are a fantastic alternative to boarding your cat at the vet when you go on vacation. While the people at the vet will probably do their best to make your cat comfortable, think what the experience is like for your cat. Most vet offices that offer boarding will keep your cat in a rather small metal cage with a view of other metal cages. There may be dogs barking or making other noises that might agitate your cat. And of course there will be the smell of antiseptic cleaners. It's like being in the hospital. Compare that to A County Cat House. The atmosphere is very quiet and serene. The private cat 'chalets' are several times larger than the average vet cage, and they're much more comfortable, with solid floors and walls and wooden furniture. A huge window on one side gives a view of a lovely garden and pond, where lizards, frogs and birds offer a very entertaining view. The air inside the chalet is filtered, and once a litterbox has been used, they change it out for a fresh one. Not only is the environment more comfortable, but your cat will get a daily playtime in a playroom with the staff. Every time I pick up my cats after a vacation, Josie tells me about how they behaved and what they did - I can tell that she and her staff really care about making my cats comfortable and spent a good amount of time with them. Now that my cats are older, they require regular medication, including subcutaneous fluids. We scheduled a trial night visit, during which the staff administered fluids and gave pills. Happily they had no problems. I was glad that they took this extra step to ensure that they'd be able to provide all the care my cats needed while I was away. The cost for all of this service is very reasonable. A Country Cat House actually charges a little less per night than several vets I called. If your cat needs medication, they can give fluids, pills, injections and topical ointments for a per-item charge. And they also offer grooming services. I went on vacation just a few weeks ago, and when I took my cat to A Country Cat House to drop her off, she was so at ease that she walked right out of her carrier and in through the front door! I guess she remembers the place and realized that she was going on vacation, too. read more

If it's your first time coming you must have proof of your cats vaccinations and send her pictures of what they look like. She also charges by how troublesome your cats are to work on, so for those who have cats who freak out easily just be aware you're going to be paying more. Yesterday was the second time bringing in my cats for a flea bath and shave and for both the total ended up being $130 but when I came in the first time a year ago one of my cats freaked out during the bath, bringing the total tp about $160. So it's a bit pricey but it's really great service and your cats will be handled by exceedingly experienced people. This is the only place I trust to bring my cats now. read more
