Wow! I finally got to try A Fruit Tea -- Banh Mi for the first time and surely not my last. It's a small cafe with a good amount of seating options. It's very clean and inviting. The service was very pleasant and quick too. I ordered the guava tea and it absolutely blew me away. The first sip gives you a taste of the guava, followed by floral notes from the tea. It also comes with what I think is crystal boba-- a great addition. I need to come back here to try their food. The sandwiches look really good. I also noticed that they had some pandan jellies in the fridge. I never thought I'd get to see that in Bakersfield unless it was homemade. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

She says that it is so good and not too sweet which is perfect for her. My dad ordered Egg Cream Coffee. He says that the drink is good. The banh mi sandwiches on the other is so good. And the meat on the Grilled Pork option was savory and sweet, which I'm starting to appreciate more recently because the balance between the two flavors just works. I personally got to try the Coconut Matcha (based on a staff recommendation) and WOW. I am high key so particular about my drinks, and I've never had a decent coconut matcha in my life thus far. Y'all did the damn thing with this fresh coconut juice and matcha cream top though! Honestly, it was so refreshing and not overly sweet AND the cream was actually perfect and didn't just taste like a basic heavy cream. Portions here pretty hefty for the low price you pay too! The restaurant itself is cute, quaint and clean. Bathroom was also well-kept and the music they were playing was soundin' like female fronted indie bands so it was a cozy vibe. Hello foodies this was my first time checking out this new place and I must say I will be back! The owner was so sweet and had a some time to tell me some things about the establishment. She started by telling me that they just opened 3 month. They bake their own bread! They only serve noodle and rolls during the weekend. Like I said she was so sweet and really talked to me. I told her how she should be getting a lot of traffic soon with this yelp review and she showed so much excitement and joy, it felt really great seeing that. I ordered a #1 grilled pork, 3 char sui, and 4 grilled chicken. Omg the flavors, texture and smell are like no other banh mi in Bakersfield. The peppers actually carry a kick to them, not so much to the point your reaching for water, but yes I loved it. The bread has a crunch, but it is so soft. The veggies are crunchy and the meat flavors are delicious!!! The drinks personally I love a drink that doesn't have a lot of sweetness to it. I was telling the owner that other places in Bakersfield add so much sweetness and she let me know that if someone wants a sweet drink they would have to ask it for it. So if you enjoy a sweet drink make sure to ask for extra sweetness. This is not to say it is bland because to me the drinks are so refreshing and they are so perfectly made. They have a very clean restroom and it offers a lot of seating for its space. I absolutely love an establishment that has great music and they were playing some bangers, Indie rock like Two door cinema club. The staff is very friendly. Wife liked her Jasmine milk tea and my brown sugar milk tea was good, but a bit sweet for me. Would request about half the sweetness next time. The grilled pork sandwich tasted great with plenty of meat and veggies. The bread was nice and toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. The carrots and daikon were julienned a bit bigger than we are used to, but because of this they had a great crunch to them. The prices for the drinks seem to be $1-2 more than other places and the price of the sandwich also a bit higher than most as well.. My family came here from a recommendation from our favorite pho place, Pho Vy. I grew up in Westminster and have been craving some good banh mi. I have to say, the banh mi here is the best I've had outside of Orange County. If you've had a craving for really good banh mi, you definitely need to come to A Fruit Tea - Banh Mi. The service is amazing and the people are super friendly. It's a lovely small storefront where you can relax and just enjoy your food.
