As much as I love Portuguese cuisine, sometimes I am in the mood for something different - Bistro…read morePierre Marie is a place that delivers a great alternative. This distinctly French place is just a short hop from the Boca do Inferno and Cascais. Owner Pierre-Marie and his daughters deliver an excellent example of great French cuisine without ever having to leave the country. For lunch a our group of three all chose the menu of the day which included a vegetable soup as an appetizer, a fillet of St. Pierre fish (John Dory in English) as the main course and a Pear in wine sauce for dessert. The fish fillet was absolutely spectacular, very delicate, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. The fish was accompanied by potatoes and courgettes (zucchini) which complemented the fish in taste. The poached pear in wine sauce was da' bomb - I am not usually a fruit guy, but I have to admit that it was really exceptional. The dish was very well executed, the flavors were balanced, not too much wine nor tartness nor sweetness everything was perfect. My first visit to the bistro but certainly not my last, well worth the trip here.

Cozy homey decorated in red walls and black white photos of French life in the 1950's. Our waiter was the owner. Lovely older gentleman who was very pleasant and attentive throughout. We shared 14 euro rose which was average. Excellent selection of well priced French wines and a little pricier than typical for Portuguese wines. Appetizer shared fois gras mi cuit. I believe 12 euros. Large portion of cold fois gras served with tasty salad fig compote and toast points. Tasty beginnings. Mains confit of duck served with sautéed potatoes. 14 euro Duck breast with potatoes baked with cream and cheese. Both well seasoned adequate portions. Wish duck breast cooked less but was perfect medium.Dessert had apple tart. Overall nothing extraordinary but comfort French bistro food and a nice option if you become tired of never ending similar standard Portuguese options.

Stumbled upon Comptoir Parisian (French/Portuguese fusion cuisine) when we were visiting the area…read moreand was pleasantly surprised by their food and service. We came around 1:30pm, as hot as it can get in the middle of the summer so we decided to wait for a table to be seated inside. We waited about 5-10mins and were often updated with the wait time. We ordered 2 kids meal, chicken strips and fries in which my kids devoured them in no time, and also 2 fish soups, 1 salad and 2 entrees for 4 adults to share (as it was too hot and we weren't very hungry). The fish soup was delectable. It was rich in flavor but not overly creamy or heavy. Bouillabaisse is indeed one of my favorite and a must get while I'm in France. For their nicoise salad, the veggies were fresh and crisp, with just the right amount of olive oil and balsamic glaze on top. For entrees, we ordered the sea bass with ratatouille and rice. I was expecting nicely lined vegetables which don't happen but the sea bass was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, moist and tender meat that just flakes apart easily. My kids ended up stealing most of our fish. The ratatouille was very flavorful, perfect to be eaten with rice. The cod was one of their specials for the day and it was also perfectly cooked: moist and tender. Their service was very quick and attentive. Some people may not like it being too quick and specially in Europe but we like it especially when we didn't want to spend too much time eating and more time for sightseeing. The only complaint is the AC is a little weak but this is common in most of the places in Europe. Overall, food is excellent with superb service. Price was a little higher than other restaurants in Lisbon but it is expected given its location. We enjoyed our lunch and would recommend it to anyone to enjoyed French cuisine.

The portions were large and rich with tons of flavor. The staff was fun and were silly with the kids helping to make the whole meal an enjoyable experience. It is in a small little lane off the main busy street with a wonderful view and ambiance. The truffle pasta was delicious as well as the French onion soup!

We started with oysters--fresh, briny, and a clean way to kick things off. What stood out next was the cheese selection arriving early in the meal. Not the usual order, but it set a rich, indulgent tone right away and actually worked within the flow of the experience. The grilled bluefin tuna with razor clam rice was excellent. The tuna had the texture of a tender steak--meaty, structured, and satisfying--while the rice added a subtle ocean depth without overpowering the dish. The highlight, though, was the tagliolini with truffles. Bold, deeply flavourful, and unapologetically rich. This is the kind of dish that anchors the entire meal--easily the standout. Dessert rounded things out nicely. The space is stunning--grand, dramatic, and anchored by that iconic suspended dinosaur skeleton. It's upscale but energetic, with a crowd that feels like it came to enjoy the night, not just the food. Service was polished and professional. The team knows the menu well, offers guidance when needed, and maintains that balance between attentive and unobtrusive. And then there's the detail you don't expect: a DJ in the bathroom. It sounds gimmicky, but somehow it fits perfectly with the overall concept. This is a place that leans into the experience--and commits to it. Overall, JNcQUOI Avenida delivers on both food and atmosphere. It's high-end, a little over the top in the best way, and the kind of place you go when you want dinner to feel like an event.
