Love the atmosphere here. Great outdoor patio seating. Youthful, energetic crowd. Indoor seating is cozy and laptop friendly. The WiFi was super slow, but there were also lots of people on the network. The food was great, though perhaps a bit overpriced, but that's okay since they don't make a fuss about you staying and working on the laptop. All-in-all, I would recommend it and I'll be back to try the many enticing items on the menu that I didn't get to try this time around. Service was friendly! read more

breakfast: I don't know wether to like it or not! First time I went there the service was good: friendly and fast; but the last time! 20 min to get my order so as the other 4 tables around us ( and I bet they were waiting longer than us) then when our coffee finally arrived they were cold! So we ordered them again, there after another long wait to get the food, not sure if the waiter was new at her job or if her/his coworker called in sick. Only rating based on atmosphere and cheescake. We sat outside and the server dropped by right away! We ordered a couple of drinks and a mango cheesecake slice and it was delicious. Really disappointed! The food is more than mediocre: coffee lukewarm, bagels too chewy (the salmon was the supermarket kind) and croissant on a Saturday morning dry. overpriced for what you're actually getting. I went 3 times, hoping it was a one off experience, but no. the whole place could do with a serious deep clean and the bathroom has a latch that could easily injure your finger. Chairs and tables outside are uncomfortable. Great location but there is plenty of room for improvement. read more

Is it weird that this restaurant might have been my favorite part of our Europe trip? It may be a slight exaggeration, but it was so delicious with a perfect atmosphere! We got here by train from our hotel in Berlin. It is located perfectly on the corner where you can watch people, cars, and kayakers go by on the streets and river. We chose to sit outside and were blown away by the cute details in the chairs, tables, lights, and decorations. They did have an English menu which is always a plus! We ended up splitting a pasta special they were featuring and the meat & cheese plate. Wow, the pasta was absolutely amazing. Great flavor for a cream-based sauce. They meat and cheese plate was also incredible! They had a small and large option and we went for small to split and it was perfect. We also received a bread basket right after we ordered with multi-grain bread and bagel. It was plenty of food for two people to split. I ordered a bagel and a cookie. While the quality of the food was excellent (although the cookie too sweet for my liking), it was very expensive. €8.50 for a bagel and €3.50 for a cookie in Kreuzberg?! I hope that those are just COVID prices and that once life and business returns back to normal, that the prices will also become fairer. I'm ok with paying higher prices during the lockdown and probably for a weeks/months after the lockdown, but not long-term. There are plenty of other high quality restaurants in Berlin with way better prices. read more

It took 10 minutes to order and another 30 minutes to get pasta. And even tho the food was nice and the place itself is warm and cozy, all this waiting and a bit higher prices (3 euro for a cup of tea, 7 for some simple pasta) are just too bad to return again. read more

This place has a great design, ambience, and location. The bagels and toppings my girlfriend and I had were on point. The fruit is diverse and juicy fresh, and the yogurt with museli is so yummy... I'm not even quite sure what was in it. The missing star is because my girlfriend did not receive her cappuccino until we had finished eating our measl, granted it was pretty busy. read more

This restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing. That being said, the aesthetics do NOT make up for the service. My friend and I arrived at the restaurant at 12:15. We then ordered orange juice, and an entree there after. Fifteen minutes pass, and a server brings us some juice that was not meant for us and then apologizes and brings us our orange juice. Which I will say, was fabulous! Our server then gave us a bagel and a piece of nut bread. Which also was pretty good. We then waited another hour before I finally caught the attention of someone. I told her we had to leave for I was going to miss a train, she then apologized and gave us the juice for free. Which was a very kind gesture. We ended up leaving the restaurant at 13:45 just as hungry as we were to begin with. This was a very big disappointment considering the glowing reviews I had seen. It may have been a mistake, for when we arrived it was quite busy. But by the time we left, the restaurant was almost empty. I'm sad I didn't get to try the food, maybe this review would be better if I did. Do not recommend. read more

Great brunch spread for 2 people with meats, cheeses, fruit, marmalade and a basket of bread. We have been three times now and everything has always been yummy and the service has been friendly. It does get very busy and there seemed to be only two wait staff for the whole room. Expect to have a slow, but delicious brunch. a.horn's one of my new favorites for breakfast, in part because of the food, vibe and backstory (the place was named in honor of the owners' father) but also simply the location. its giant windows overlook the carl-herz-ufer and prinzenstraße bridge, making it a fantastic place to sit with a coffee or beer and look out over the runners and strollers scrolling by. the interior is quite open: with the expanse of wood flooring, tall ceilings, concrete bar and huge windows, it can feel like a cold industrial space when there aren't many diners, but this also makes it a great place to wake up when the light is streaming in in the morning. (i will add that because of all of this space, sometimes the place is filled with herds of children on weekend mornings, running around like they've been hopped up on double-strength espresso - the high ceilings handle the sound well though. keep in mind too, it's popular at brunch time, so sometimes finding a seat can be tough and the initial service can be slow, but the staff are super friendly and once you've ordered, things come quickly.) unlike other places that try to cater to every breakfast taste, a.horn keeps their menu short and sweet: small and big "mixed" breakfasts or "sweet" breakfasts, eier im glas with various accoutrements, muesli. my favorite of late is their banana bread with vanilla quark and fresh banana slices - they'll even grill it for you, if you ask (trust me, this is the only way to eat banana bread!). at night they have soups, pastas, simple salads, "jausentellers" (mixed antipasti plates in small and large sizes) and daily specials. the jausentellers --olives, bread, würst, etc-- sound like something you'd find anywhere, but are really artfully assembled and a fantastic light meal (the "small" is actually huge). they also have a deli case (vitrine) for quick-grabs, like sandwiches on focaccia or bagels, or gi-normous chocolate chip cookies (the size of coffeetables, i swear). their drinks take up 3/4 of the menu with a full range of teas+coffees, lemonades, beers+wines, harder spirits+longdrinks. this all means that despite a relatively lean menu, they have something for just about any time of day and that (thankfully) you could spend many visits truly getting to know this place...i'm looking forward to it. read more

i love the a.horn. it's my house-cafe and i have spent a lot of time here since i moved to the street 2 years ago. unfortunately i have had miserable service the last few times i went (this month). i have read comments below and noticed other people experiencing this before. for me it was a completly new experience and i thought that they might have hired some new staff. anyways, dear a.horn team, please continue to take care of your guests! it was not crowded at all the couple times i/we came this month and still we had to order at the bar again and again since no one came around and noticed that we hadn't ordered or that out drinks were empty since a long time. when the order was brought various empty cups and glasses weren't cleared from the table and orders delivered were wrong or incomplete. the staff wasn't unfriendly but simply came across as very lazy and not paying attention. PLEASE a.horn team don't become lazy now that you are established but maintain the service quality that you started with 2 years ago! i need you in my street! read more
