After looking online I stumbled across Cavendish Dental Care. They address nervous patients and have their prices online, so it is quite transparent. When I rang up, they were able to register me over the phone, although they do take a £40 fee to ensure that you do turn up to your consultation. She did inform me that they weren't taking NHS patients as of a couple weeks ago, but that was fine with us. We don't seem to be in any catchment area, but we need a dentist, so we registered anyway. There is a small amount of parking out front of the office, but I think the closest car park is the Rose Hill Car Park, unless you can find some parking on one of the streets nearby. They do close at lunch time so if you are trying to make an appointment or turn up a bit early for your appointment just after lunch, you'll have to wait until everyone returns. The waiting area is quite large with dental equipment for purchase behind the desk. There is a t.v. with images and ads playing... in fact some of the diagrams of various dental problems were quite interesting as I've not seen anything like that before. When I went back to meet the dentist, I was pleasantly surprised at how modern and welcoming the room was. When they recline the chair, you'll notice a t.v. above the chair that you can focus on. Although rather than a t.v. show, it just had BBC Radio 2 on. The dentist is very soft spoken and very gentle. While I didn't feel pressured at all, I can already tell that they are suggesting services and as we have registered as private patients... it will probably cost a pretty penny. For example, I still have a baby tooth, but there is no adult tooth to replace it. As a result, my previous dentists have advised me to take care of it and said with care it will probably last for a long time. At this appointment they were already talking about implants for it, but apparently it still looks healthy and there is no movement... However, as long as there is no pressure into services that aren't needed immediately, then we will get on just fine.

The surgery is situated in a row of shops and has some parking directly outside plus there is parking round the corner and it's on a main bus route. The waiting room is downstairs and the ladies on reception are always chatty and helpful. The waiting room has a few seats although when busy you may have to stand. There are magazines and leaflets to read while you wait and the ladies will tell you when you need to go up to the dentist. The surgeries are upstairs so it's not really accessible for disabled people. There are 2 dentists who work different days and hours. The surgery is very clean and modern and they have the latest equipment. The dentists are friendly and always chat to you, even when you have your mouth wide open and can't reply! They make a good job of the work they do and make the whole going to the dentist experience a little less scary!

He is ideal for patients who are nervous or anxious. It is never true to say that going to the dentist is pain free, but he makes sure you knwo when something bad is going to happen, so you can prepare yourself. He is very gentle with the injections (I have had dentists who leave you sore for a week afterwards) and he is very professional and explains all your options. Although they only accept kids as NHS patients, they have a scheme where you can pay monthly or you can be a private patient for quite reasonable fees.

They are a good dentists here and have an excellent service. They are known for their implants such as false teeth etc. So with a service like that, you know you are going to a well respected dentist. I had a polish here and have to say I was impressed with the results. The dentists are friendly and talkative and make sure you know how to brush your teeth properly and help you buy the right products for your teeth. They are great.

I was informed about my treatment every step of the way and received advice about the best way forward after each visit. I was never worried about attending appointments as it was a pain free experience and will definitely keep my 6 monthly check ups . Would highly recommend this practice . Although my treatment was private I paid after each visit therefore the cost was spread out and I was made fully aware of the cost before I commenced treatment.
