When I had only been driving for a few years, I got into a bad rollover on a gravel road and I've…read morebeen afraid of driving ever since. Now, I drive occasionally but fear my inexperience makes me more of a danger on the road. So I was nervous about my Class 5 road test, especially with only ten days to practice before the date. My sister got me in touch with Parmot and I immediately felt more at ease. Parmot knew everything about the test centre, the neighbourhood, and every point I would be evaluated on. He made me feel much more confident in my ability to pass the test. More importantly, he made me a better driver. He spotted all the bad habits I'd picked up from learning to drive without a qualified instructor. He got me started on replacing them with better ones--even though, of course, you can only do so much in ten days. I recommend Parmot highly for drivers who suffer with nerves or anxiety. he has a skill for recognizing when learners are getting stressed out and applying just the right amount of pressure to keep them improving without getting overwhelmed. Even when I sometimes struggled to catch certain words because of his accent, he was always patient and persistent in explaining the procedures until I understood them. Everything about the process was easy. Parmot accommodated my tight schedule by giving me five lessons in ten days. We started and ended each lesson at my address. The lessons were ninety minutes each but on many occasions, such as when we got stuck in traffic going out, he sacrificed more of his time to make sure I had trained the skills I needed to. On the day of the test, it was a Richmond blizzard! This was a surprise to everyone. The front desk clerk told us there had been a few no-shows that day by the time we arrived. Thanks to all my preparation and the confidence I gained with Parmot's guidance, I was able to keep a cool head for the test despite the curveball and I passed it with three minor notes. I have always…read morebeen a bit afraid of driving since I was 16, because I am relatively small by height and my visions are often blocked compared to average drivers. I have previously tried driving lessons with 2 other instructors, and while I had good experience, I could not understand how to drive (like finding reference point to centre my cars, understanding direction of my car, how to overcome my blindspots due to my height, understanding the car mechanics, anticipating situations to be a defensive driver, and growing the confidence behind the wheels). Being introduced to Ellen by chance was the best thing that happened! First thing first, Ellen and I get along. Ellen has a friendly demeanor to make students feel comfortable and welcomed, allowing students to open up about their concerns. Ellen is very patient and encouraging. She took the time to understand what I needed and where my weak spots are to target and mitigate in the driving process. She has her ways of helping students to understand driving, put the right checks in place to follow all the rules and be a safe driver, as well as drilling into students' mind various scenarios which could happen during driving allowing the students to become a more defensive driver.
