Needed an intelligent remote fob (push button ignition) programmed. The used dealer only gave us one and wanted $175 for a second one. The car requires two programmed keys to program additional ones by myself. I also needed two of the emergency keys (physical piece of metal that goes in the door when the car is dead) cut. They were very professional and gave me several tips that saved us money! I was so pleased that I purchased additional remotes for our other vehicles so that we have 3 for each car so we can always program our own in the future if one dies completely or becomes lost. I didn't have the fobs for those with me, so he gave me a receipt to come back the next day to have the emergency keys cut. His tips saved me $300! read more

I had a very basic need for an old car key to be cut, but the key blank was a very rare one that I brought in myself to be cut. And it was NOT a cheap key. One tiny error, and it would be ruined. It took me FOREVER to located this vintage, valuable key - Which is why I went to a locksmith instead of hardware store for some clerk to cut it @ a kiosk. Anyway, Brandon helped me. Without my suggestion or asking, he took the liberty of using a generic blank that he had at the store to do a test run on, to make sure he could get it right. He cut it, walked out to my old car, and it was a perfect fit. Within seconds, my prized, impossible to find, overly priced key was cut by Brandon. Of course without fail. I paid the man for his service (I also bought the "test key") and almost skipped out of the place. I will always find a way to patronize this business, be it me or my voice of referral. One of the worst feelings a man can have is when his wife calls him at work on the other side of town with an emergency. Today my wife called with such an emergency. She had taken the kids to the local McDonalds to have lunch and somehow in the shuffle of loading the kids into the car, the keys and our very young children ended up locked inside with my wife on the outside. She called me and I googled the nearest locksmith. Derek from A Lock and Key sprang to action and was there in about 10 minutes. The doors were open and the kids were free shortly thereafter. I'm a college student who had come home for the summer and happened to get a new car. The car only came with one key fob, and as a Nissan only family up until my new car-- so our go to guy was no long useful for our new car. We needed our keyfob that we bought online programmed & the backup key cut. My dad called on Sunday and asked for a quote where he was told $50- completely reasonable. We made an agreement to be at the store at 4:15 as we were and so was Derek. When we arrived he was very quick to get my key fob programmed-- but since it wasn't factory, it would not work on my push to start. I asked the simple question "why?" and he replied with "I didn't buy the key i don't know." Then he proceeded to say "I'm sorry this generation doesn't understand how to use a normal car key." After he programmed it, he tells us it will be $85 & we explained that my dad was quoted $50. He simply did not care and we asked how much for it to be cut as well. He said he would just charge us $85 when it would regularly be $225. As we were leaving I kindly explained that my dad once again was quoted $50 and that he might want to get that taken care of, when I was told "That would be one of my employees that works 4 hours a day." #HORRIBLE SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!! We had a key made at this establishment because we were wanting to patronize a fellow business owner as well as keep the business in the family (Body Of Christ) only to have the key not work and with several attempts to call and try and get it resolved I got no answer or a call back, on my fourth attempt I reached THE PASTOR / OWNER of the place and was told that "I should not have dialed the number that was given to me by his Tech this number is for me only to reach my helper" I explained my situation to him but long story shorter I got a lot of condescending remarks, rude behavior and never an apology for the inconvenience that we went through (the key didn't work it would not open nor close the locks and my horn does not sound when you hit the lock or unlock button) bottom line we were very disappointed in the way we were treated and the time taken out of the day to correct the problem so PASTOR may the Lord God Bless you real good is our prayer read more
