After being a regular here for 6 years I have to find a new comics shop. The new owner got a power trip and closed my pull because I dared to give his shop a low star review after they screwed up my comics for several pulls in a row. Apparently because I wasn't getting multiple books per week I'm not worthy of being a customer. The store sits on a nice corner and the layout is cool. Wish I could have stayed and dug through the comics some more but I just couldn't take it. The music in the store was incredibly loud and annoying. I'm not even sure what it was. Some type of loud squealing and bad drumming? Whatever it was, I had to get out of there. I work with special needs kids and one of the kids who I work with was chewed out by an employee at the store for reorganizing a stack of books. His mother explained to the employee who was working there that she was sorry and that he had autism. The employee continued being disrespectful and ignored them completely even though the store wasn't busy. I expect better from this store when it comes to their customer service, especially when they are apologized to and told that the customer has a disability. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau about this interaction. read more

Probably one of the dopest comic shops I've been to. They have tons of indie creator comics, dope shirts, and tons of cool pins. On top of everything they sell Japanese pokemon cards. The manga section is stellar as well. Definitely a comic shop you must check out if you're in the area. read more

I was very pleased to have found this store. I came to it looking for 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons books, and was overjoyed to find not only 5e D&D but 4e and 3e. I really appreciate the fact that I was able to take my time making my decision on what books I wanted to purchase without someone hassling me. I was there for over an hour reading from many of the D&D books and wasn't bothered by the staff. I initially planned to spend $50 and because I saw so much I liked, I spent $200. I had to get out of that store before I spent all of my money. They have so much good stuff. read more

I consider myself to be a Nerd, though it is my personal opinion that the word Nerd has changed to encompass anyone who is passionate about something. A Shop Called Quest is definitely a shop for Nerds. They have a large collection of Pop Funko's, Comic books, Trading Cards and Graphic Novels. The Shop has quite the selection for being as small as it is. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and very knowledgeable if you have any questions. My only complain is the prices that they have. I play Magic the Gathering and the price that they have for single packs and bundles is on the higher end. I am unsure if the same applies to their comic books and graphic novels as I have not bought any here. Overall it's a nice shop and I love coming in and seeing what they have on display or what new items are available. Went here after brunch with the husband on a Sunday. I'm not into comics, but husband said that he liked this place because of size of the store, variety of comics, variety or toys for guys and girls, the staff and nice, location was good, inside was very open and not cramp. Comic book stores are becoming an almost endangered species these days. Back in the 80's and 90's, I could count at least 8-10 good ones in the San Bernardino/Redlands Area. Now there are only a couple. Comic Quest, located in Historic Downtown Redlands, is one; and it has staying power. Its been around for years. At least 15. Maybe even 20. Its a small little comic shop on a corner; but its packed full of goodness. They have a decent selection of Comics; both from the big names (DC and Marvel) as well as many of the independents. They also have trading cards, gaming cards, a decent manga and anime DVD selection, shirts, toy collectibles and posters. They also have a small but decent collection or RPG-related books and such. Its one of the few places I can find RPG books and adventure products anymore. The staff is really knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction if you have any questions. My only small complaint about this place is that it seems a bit warm and stuffy whenever I come in to browse; but then, it is a small shop, as I said. This little gem of a place has been around a long time, and hopefully will remain for even longer. It reminds me of when I used to collect comics back in my teens/20's. Come here alone to relive childhood memories - or bring your own kid to get them hooked on imaginative adventures. read more

I loved the vibe in this place! There were so many comics and series and books to choose from and I felt content to spend all day in there if I could. I walked the store like four times and saw something new each pass. The staff didn't rush my friend and I at all and they honestly did make us feel welcome. I felt comfortable asking questions about things I was looking for. Also their pin collection was amazing! If I had $100 to drop on some really unique and beautiful pins I would have done so in a freaking heartbeat. I didn't come in here looking for a specific book in mind, mostly just browsing to see what they had. And I honestly did not plan on buying anything. Like seriously. I only went with my friend because we were in the area, but we ended up buying three different comic books. I mean, I guess that saying "you give a mouse a cookie" really does apply to real adult world situations like comic book stores. Shocking. read more

This place has a lot of cute things that are hard to find elsewhere. They carry a variety of action figures, books, and collectibles. They don't have a huge variety of the classic comics (which I found odd). I mean it is called Comic Quest right?! Either way... It's a larger store. I found out about a shop called quest around April of this year by driving around Redlands ca trying to find new comic shops to check out. This place is PHENOMENAL!! Sooo many comic books, collectibles such as Funko pops, Marvel Legends, Marvel Select & other stuff. Great prices for a lot of their items from collectibles, shirts & comics. Associate: Miguel. 6:00pm April 12, 2022 I usually don't ever have a problem with this location. I called to put a Jujitsu Kaisen Vol 1 Manga on hold. She said she would and I let her know I'd be on my way. Gas isn't cheap and I had to drive a bit out of my way but I was ok with that because I really wanted to read it. I get there and there is only 2 people in line. I ask the associate Miguel on counters if they had a hold for me I was gonna walk around with it. He looked at me with his dirty looks and no smile and didn't say anything for a bit and said hold on a min, which I thought was strange. Where is my manga? So I say ok. I see the girl I talked to on the phone leave the store which is odd. Miguel was really quite the whole experience. So I walked around looking to see if there was anything good. Which I found great things I was interested in. I noticed the line was short so I waited patiently in it. I get to Miguel and he ask me what I needed. I tell him about my hold. He asks me who put it on hold for me. I say it was the girl who left. He then tells me in a rude tone," WELL YOU DIDN'T TALK TO ME AND WE DONT HAVE IT." I look at him confused because he clearly asked me who did it. Then he proceeds to give me a attitude when I told him my situation. Mind you I don't understand how you confuse vol 1 with vol 0. I walk away and defuse his negative energy. I see she comes back with nothing. Why wouldn't you just tell me that you didn't have it to begin with and explain to me what was going on? Miguel walks up to me not apologizing for the inconvenience and tells," we don't have it we just have 0." He tells me like as if I was lying about me putting on hold and I even show him there phone number and ask if it was them. He tells me yes. Miguel has a very tough guy bad attitude. Which he shouldn't be acting like that because he gives me the impression and others, I don't want you to shop here and get out and shop somewhere else attitude. He looks super annoyed being there with his dirty looks. Maybe get a job in clean up duties somewhere else to match you're dookie attitude. I've purchased tons of things from this store and truly love it, but MIGUEL is the reason I won't be back unless he leaves. read more

I love this place. Unlike other stores, they don't make you feel like you're being stalked until you buy something. You are totally free to browse and explore without feeling pressured into a sale. However, that doesn't mean that the staff isn't helpful, because they are very helpful when you actually need it. For example, I am incredibly short, and also incredibly stubborn when it comes to asking for help. This combination makes it a little difficult to reach books that are on the very top shelf. One of the staff noticed me stubbornly struggling right away and offered to get the book I wanted down and put it away too. So don't in any way feel that their laidback approach to customer service means lackluster service. In terms of selection, the large space allows for them to include plenty of collected volumes, monthly issues, figurines, shirts, posters, etc. Everything is well organized and easy to find, but if you have trouble, you can always ask and the staff will help you find what you're looking for. If you're looking for suggestions, the employees can definitely come up with some suggestions based in what you like. All in all, this is a great shop and I always enjoy every visit here. read more

Located in beautiful Downtown Redlands, Comic Quest is a sheer delight for comic fans old and new. From comic books, to vinyl toys Quest definitely stands out from the crowd of other comic shops in the area. The environment is clean, well stocked, and organized. Everything is easy to find and in alphabetic order. The staff is hands down one of the best things about Quest. They are always there to help out, order an item if it's sold out, or will even be there for a friendly chat. No Condescending attitudes here. A girl walked into a comic book store...yes, this really happened IRL. I was humoring my husband by walking through the doors (even though deep down I have a love for Marvel Comic characters). The store was huge (granted, I have only been to one other CBS and it was tiny, so perspective may be a bit off), and I was impressed with their variety of selection- from books, action figures (including a variety of types, sizes, etc.), card options and of course, comic books. I didn't really anticipate finding anything special in the rows of comic books, but I flipped through them anyway and happened to find an entire series that I was actually excited to read. Then of course there was a Hulk action figure, and my husband had to have the Punisher action figure. The comic books we purchased were priced as printed on the books, and the action figures were reasonably priced IMO. The staff were very friendly. They were very laid back, meaning, they didn't rush to help us as soon as we walked through the door (as it appears some reviews seem to hope for). However, as soon as we approached them to ask a question they were all over it; searched for a specific comic book for us, answered tons of questions about a couple of different series my husband was interested in, book recommendations, action figure info, etc.... Don't expect them to hunt you down and ask you tons of questions about what you're looking for when you walk through the door... I think they're going for a more relaxed vibe and won't "Bug" you to make a sale, but will help when help is needed. I would definitely recommend this store for your comic book and comic-related needs. A very clean and organized shop, helpful staff, and a variety of product at a fair price. read more

I really enjoy my biweekly visits to the Shop. I have my own box that they put all my monthly comics into so that I don't miss out on anything. After just a coupe visits two of the employees know me by name and automatically check my box for new comics. They offer great suggestions for new comics to read as well. The selection and stock are outstanding. I have also purchased art for my office from their local prints section. Awesome prints for a very affordable price. Hard not to pick up a couple. I visit here almost every time I'm in Redlands. The staff is extremely helpful. I may have sent my girlfriend in with a screen shot of a bane action figure they had posted on Instagram. They were very accommodating and helped her in purchasing the correct one. She said she would do it again for me any time. read more

My bf knew we had to stop by before leaving. LOVED IT! They have basically a wall of funko pop characters plus more throughout the store. A bunch of different comics and books. Tons of collectible items and a few shirts as well. Definitely bought a lot of stuff and wish I had more time to look around in detail. This is by far one of the nicest comic book shops I have ever stepped foot in. I'm a hardcore movie and comic book nerd, but it's a struggle to find comic book stores that don't have a somewhat cluttered, creepy or uncomfortable atmosphere. This is not the case with A Shop Called Quest. A beautiful brick building, organized shelf layouts, and a really friendly and helpful staff make this a great place to spend several minutes just enjoying looking at comics. There's a really clean/simple hipster-y look to this store, and they have a fantastic selection of graphic novels and all the latest big issue comics. There are a few older issues that are fun to browse through as well - my preferred section of any comic book store. i've only been here once with friends, its like a haven for comic/anime/animation lovers. they have a great selection of comics, manga, graphic novels, toys, figures, posters, pop! figures, there are a small collection of nendroids as well. i feel like a kid in a candy store. i'd probably enjoy more if i planned on buying something, in fact this was just an accident coming here from eating at Crepes of Wrath, and if i only live nearby, i'd probably be here almost everyday! as for parking, idk where to find one bec. i dont live in the area but we ended up parking at the nearest convenience store. read more
