The proprietor always gives the impression of being dressed in a waistcoat and wearing horn-rimmed spectacles, although to the best of my knowledge neither is ever the case. Although I daresay they transact a few sales every week (I myself have bought one or two minor items from them) their main trade seems to be in the repair of well, pretty much everything! I've seen people lugging everything from televisions to fridge freezers to vacuum cleaners therein. To add to the olde-worlde (not to mention other-worldly) ambience, they write all purchases and repair items down, by hand, in a big ledger. Cracking stuff. The staff are unfailingly courteous and helpful, so if you've got any random item hanging around under the stairs that's too good to throw away and yet doesn't actually work, take it along to RP Jones. You just might be surprised!

As well as glorious displays of large HD TV's (which I seriously covet!) they often have really funky gadgets and gizmos. Automatic Juke-box, anyone? Or how about a wind-up radio? If you've got the cash to spend there's plenty of interesting ideas to treat your home with. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful - I know from personal experience that they don't try to sell you stuff that isn't suitable for what you want, and will direct you to where you can get what you need. Next to Blockbusters right in the market place, enjoy a smorgasboard of TV heaven!

We recently wanted to have a digital ariel fitted to our roof, and were recommended the services of…read morea properly registered local self-employed tradesman by the name of Mr Paddy King who specializes in the installation/erection of TV ariels, Satellite TV, Closed Circuit TV Door Entry Systems etc. We were warned that he was a busy man, and that we would probably have to wait a short while before he was free as he is very much in demand, which to me, was a good sign! Anyway, we went ahead & called him and he arrived a couple of weeks later on the dot as arranged. Well we were in for a lovely surprise, not only did he install our ariel, but he charged a lower price than origionaly quoted AND tuned in our new TV and DVD player for free, which, he said, was all part of the service! (maybe he charged less because we live in a bungalow which meant he had less further to climb up the ladder lol!!!) Anyway, he was in & out pretty quickly, no mess, no fuss, just a great job, and cheap too! So, I'd like to further highly recommend this lovely, friendly guy making an honest living, as one of the best, if not THE best in Hereford!

The…read moreTurntable had stability issues within its power supply causing the platter speed to be unstable. When I hadn't heard back from him I had to chase him up. He said he couldn't find a fault and he thought the Turntable was suppose to be unstable until the platter got up to speed! It was a Direct Drive Technics 1210! This company is unprofessional, clearly not qualified to attempt to repair or diagnose an obvious and simple fault. Took elsewhere, fault was fixed and repaired the same day! Stay very much away from this company!!!

The prices are not too bad but not competitive with the large chain electrical shops although I think it is always worth trying to support local small businesses so they keep going.
