I post this review so that others doing research into which online tech store to buy from will be informed and not misled by the marketing fairy tales. Megabuy proudly state on their website the following "Many people have a misconception that just because we operate predominantly online it means we don't have an office or our own warehouse and don't keep stock. This is not the case and is in large part a result of misinformation spread by competitors who are struggling to keep up." My experience was that after ordering a $500 monitor noted as 'available' at time of purchase and ships in 1-3 days ended up taking 10 days. Without a word from the store i called to find out what was going on and told that it had to be ordered as it wasn't in stock. So much for the 'warehouse full of stock' So why didn't Megabuy tell us? The response "We would only know that something is wrong with the order when the customer calls to enquire" Megabuy boldly claim to provide "High Quality Service" on their website but my experience was 'Non-existent service' I run a business from home so 1-3 days for a new monitor after last one died is an acceptable time frame while i work on my laptop. Having to wait and not know whats going on with an order placed online is a real concern. My complaint to them was responded to with this classic line "i can assure you this email hasn't just been tossed aside, I've forwarded onto management." Not surprising i never heard back from them. If you order cartridges from Megebuy, CHECK THEM IMMEDIATELY!!! We had order cartridge before from them no problems, but 2 of the 4 cartridge we ordered last time were empty! As we had ordered them as spares it was a few months before we needed them and discovered the problem. Megabuy would not discuss the problem at all, but told us if we had informed them in the 1st month they MIGHT have been able do something, but they couldn't do anything after that. As I said they were spare cartridges as everyone keeps, they would do nothing, $200 worth of empty cartridges. NO AFTER SALES SERVICE at MEGABUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I thought I should share with you MY WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER. I've ordered a $1200 laptop & external HD bundle from Megabuy after confirming its availability by phoning the store. Paid by direct deposit and was supposed to receive it in 1-3 days. Never received the laptop. After 4 days I received an e-mail saying it was shipped and received the external HD that day, but not the laptop. I've called the store and was told that the laptop will arrive from a different warehouse. After another few days, I've called again and was told, sorry the product was discontinued. So I was left with a $1200 external hard drive. I've been offered another laptop in exchange for the discontinued one, but could not accept it as it was way inferior to the one ordered. I've called them just about every day to organise a refund. They did pass me from one department o another, without resolving the problem. Finally, I went to the store to return the external HD and get the refund. BIG SURPRISE. They did not refund my money. When I've insisted, they asked me to leave the store, threatening to call the Police. Since I did not leave, they eventually made me another offer for replacing the laptop, this time with a different brand and different size laptop. Long story short, my money has not been refund. I have to contact them again tomorrow, but I am not optimistic. It is 2 weeks now and I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. The next step would be the ACC and the court. Spend your money else where!!! 24 days until posted!!! Like the title says spend your money elsewhere or better still price match their low prices to a more reputable company. Long story short.... Wait times from when the order is placed to when it is actually shipped is disgraceful (see screenshots) and these items where all in stock!!! Not the kind of service you expect after spending $4000. Any other online store has their items posted within 24hours of receiving an order. Can prove if needed Short story long.... Basically, as you can see for the screenshot supplied you can see the most recent order was placed on the 24th of April and was not partially posted until the 30th of April and finally on the 1st of May. During this time many calls were made for updates on the order, each time I got the same answer as before which was no different from what was already shown on my online account. I was told by staff on each call that an inquiry has been sent to the warehouse and we will contact you with an update, sadly not once did I receive any updates from Megabuy staff. From what I gathered from talking to staff the problem is to do with their internal systems on how they communicate with their warehouse. I was informed by staff their inhouse communication is done solely by email and are not contactable via phone. SERIOUSLY??? Sadly, this is not the 1st time this has happened to me at Megabuy. I have attached another 2 x screenshot showing an order which was originally placed on the 4/10/17. This order was then cancelled on the 5th due to some issue within Megabuy. I then had to re-order the same day, it was processed the following day on the 6th/10/17 and amazingly that item was not shipped until the 30/10/17.... That's 24 days later! The reviews that are similar to this review are staggering when you read back through. I'm giving an extra Star because the only staff member who answers the phone (James) was extremely kind and understanding, it was just Megabuy was letting him down. Which brings up any other point, you can only seem to speak to 1 person via the phone (James), there is no manager to complain to verbally or to escalate any issues further. That's unless you are spending money of course then you seem to be able to talk to whomever. Most definitely will NOT be doing business here again!!! read more

I also have had a terrible experience with Megabuy. After buying a printer ink pack which "posts within 1-2 days" I waited more than 2 weeks befor I contacted megabuy to see what was happening. I was tole it would arrive at thier store in about a week then be dispatched to me!!!! so thats about a month for an ink set??? I asked for the refund and have been battling for the last month to get my money back. Am receiving the usual excuses, we lost your bank acct details. The refund froze on our system etc etc. Have now sent a letter aksing them to process the refund and provide proof or I will lodge an official complaint. Don't get involved with this company, they are a waste of time and in my experience do not hold stock in thier own warehouse. Communication from thier reps is hopeless too. read more

high shipping prices poor customer service unable to combine shipping costs for multiple items coming from different warehouses not very helpful and timely with warranty returns +1 for price - which is the only reason i used them read more

Placed an order to be emailed hours later that it has been cancelled and refunded. Their excuse is that it had a listing error and there was also availability issues. So their T&C stating price is correct don't contact us and their websites stock allocation is useless. Correspondence with them is like a brick wall, I think you would have better correspondence with siri or google now. read more

Was looking to build a desktop but didn't know where to start so thought would visit MegaBuy which is just around the corner from me at Chermside. Daniel was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped me work out the best option to go for within my budget. I actually ended up getting them to build it as didn't want to stuff it up and it was done quickly and professionally. Would recommend for anyone looking to build a PC. read more

We have purchased several refurbished desktops, as well as a dozen refurbished monitors to support our standardised, multi-monitor setups in our office. Everything was as-new when we purchased from MegaBuy, and more than a year in, none of the equipment has missed a beat! There is no way we would ever go back to paying the premium for new when the quality is this good on the refurbished equivalents. read more

Took my money and did not Receive any item it has been 3 months now DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE !
