I called to have a snow blower serviced that was stored in my shed for a few years. I knew it needed belts so they ordered them before coming out. Showed up exactly when he said he would. Cleaned out the fuel system, replaced a fuel line, changed the spark plug, changed the oil and replaced the belts. Works Great!!! All this done at my home for a phenomenal price!!! read more

Need a small engine worked on? This is the place. I have had a 4-stroke snowblower worked on here and 2-stroke ice auger. The snowblower was left with them and the ice auger was an easy "while you wait" fix. Seemed to me that he dropped other work to get me going quickly. Very refreshing to deal with a shop that really cares. Nice job. Owner is Elwood, one of the good guys. I brought in my Zero turn cub cadet for a staying running problem and to sharpen the blades. I talked to the owner who informed me the problem was solved and that the blades were not sharpened to my res quest. I then brought the mower back a second time where I did not receive it for 2 months later which is completely ridiculous. My mower had problems since before I left his shop and I had to take it to another repair shop and they told me I got screwed (even by looking at the receipt it's a no brainer) and that in his 40 years of repairing small engines he could not believe someone would find that work exceptable. I strongly do not recommend being anything to Aam's Small Engine Repair because they should change their name from small engine repair to, small engine destroyer. read more

I called SEARS to see about getting my backpack Leaf-blower repaired.. They referred me to go to AAM'S.. OMG... This guy was so rude and even asked me to carry empty boxes to his dumpster before he could look at my blower.. I'm like are you serious? When he said it was a lot of work to take apart and kept walking away starting to work on other stuff.. I'm like you seem preoccupied and busy I'll just buy a new one and got the hell out of there.. Very unprofessional,, unorganized,, rude and clutter all over.. They kept what you're getting repaired outside in the elements.. A basic shithole.. I wouldn't take anything there for repair.. If I could give these guys a negative star I would. I took my ice auger into their shop last year and it was a total fiasco. They never fixed the problem, but instead of just giving it back they kept it most of the winter "waiting for parts". They ended up breaking the handle, then tried to hide it by wrapping stickers around it. They wouldn't replace it. I called AAMS, this old lady was so rude.. when I am asking how much it would cost you can hear her saying "God I hate these people".. then she says, she has customers and will call back. She called me back in 1 hour, still rude and keep saying " God I hate these people.."on the first call, I have her benefit of doubt, thinking she was talking to someone or something else.. When I asked for estimate, she says it's hard to give estimate on phone and starts to curse.. in low voice, but I can still hear her sorry A$$... I hung up the phone, don't want to deal with such bad people.., let alone trust them with my equipment. read more

Elwood fixed my 17.5 HP Craftsman lawn tractor, after three stops. The first fix was not the real problem, but it ran OK for awhile. ($60) The second try was no charge, but ended up not helping. The is a very strange place. They had my ice auger for over 4 months, basic Tecumseh two stroke engine. The first time they told me it was fixed, I picked it up and found that they had broken the handle and then tried to cover it up with stickers from the engine. The engine was also not fixed. They took it back and added some parts, a new carburetor and a new coil. I picked it up today and it did not run. I refused to leave it with them again. They are horrible people. They refunded my money for the labor, but said they had parts invested and would not give me the money back for that. They took offense that I was upset and threw me out of their office. The women at the front slammed the door on my arm. She became upset and somewhat crazed. It would have been funny if I didn't have over $100 invested with their poor quality of work. I would not recommend anyone do business with them. If this helps one person, it would be worth it. read more

We dropped off a pressure washer in the middle of June and we didn't get it back until the middle of September. It was not fixed. My biggest complaint isn't that it wasn't fixed but we were never communicated with. We had to constantly call them to see what was going on with the machine. Some parts were back ordered for a month, due to an issue with a factory - which is understandable - I realize these things can happen. The receptionist was very vague with the diagnosis and even after the parts came in she claimed it would be better for us to buy a whole new machine - without bothering to explain what was wrong. (Our machine was in great condition and not used very frequently). Another note, our machine was kept outside, along with many others, letting the weather play quite a number on it. We got it returned pretty dirty and with rust developments. The owner is a really nice man - I think we would have had a much better experience if we dealt with him directly. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the receptionist not only didn't have a clear understanding in what was going on but she had a very rude way of interacting with us. If you want to use these guys for your needs it might be wise to find out when the owner is around - you'll probably be much happier in the end! read more

Very unhappy with the service. I took my trimmer in because they didn't fix it the first time, it still had their name tag on it, and asked them to get it fixed this time. Left it for another week and was told it was ready. When I picked it up it was all oily, a complete mess. When I got it home it did not start again. I called and left them a message to call me back. In the voicemail they left they said it "maybe needs a carburetor". This after being in the shop twice. When I called the next day to find out about that "new carburetor" statement I was told By Aaron that he had it "running before I picked up up, and it was running smoothly". Completely different story than the message he left the night before. In looking at the machine it appears nothing at all was done, it still has the original spark plug, it wasn't changed when it was taken in the first time for not running properly. I'll never take another small engine back to this business. When I questioned them about what they did and that I didn't believe anything all they said was "ok". They have lost a customer.....charged me and did nothing. Trimmer still doesn't run. Charge on my credit card will be disputed. read more

My snowblower didn't run well all season. I emailed to ask whether it should be serviced now or next season, got a prompt response. My snowblower is large, so I needed onsite service. Called for an appointment, call was returned promptly, scheduled at my convenience. On the day of the appointment, Elwood called to let me know when he was on his way, so I could leave work to meet him. Very friendly and professional, did a tuneup, changed oil and drained fuel. This is the repair shop from heaven. Quick service, more than reasonable prices, and great care. They took care of my erratic snowblower, which had quirks that they figured out and explained to me such that I no longer have any concerns when there are a couple of feet of snow outside. I purchased a lawn mower from the biggest shop in town. They failed to tell me that I needed to put ethanol free gas in it at the end of the season, so the carburetor was destroyed and the price of the repair was more then half the cost of the mower. And it took days. The lovely gentleman from AAM's picked up my mower yesterday morning, cleaned it, sharpened the blades, changed the fluids, tidied up the inside (it looks new) for much less than the biggest shop in town. And returned it this morning, looking like new. Gave me guidance on maintenance. So now AAM's handles everything for me. Friendly, economical, expert. What's not to like? read more

We brought in a couple lawn mowers for a home depot warranty claim. They "fixed" the mowers 3 times and 3 times the mowers would have the same problem after i used them for about 2-3 hours. Each time they had the mower they took almost a month to fix them. I learned two things here. 1. The Home Depot warranty is garbage and you should never buy it. (I paid at least $30.00 each time for stuff the warranty did not cover) and 2. The time i wasted wiith half a dozen 60 mile round trips to this shop i should of just bought new mowers (Which is what i had to ultimately do). This place could be good but i think they take on way too many jobs and only have 2 people working there. The owner seems like he knows his stuff but his assistant seems to be a bit lost. The receptionist was a very nice lady however and definitely understood and empathized with my frustrations throughout this process. read more
