The second by students who got tired of tuition increases while CCA gave us little in return. They didnt mention the school had a few labs 2021-2024. We were promised job fairs and assistance for internships but I found out were on our own. CCA also forces u to do an internship but if you cant find one yoyr forced to PAY THE SCHOOL FOR AN INTERNSHIP in order to pass. Cca does t care if you dont graduate the only consistancy is asking for $$$$$$. Everything else is a series of pathetic excuses, miscommunication, ans deflection. If you wana be academically challenged and learn technical skills which are important in the industry Id avoid this place at all cost. The only redeeming field left is maybe architure (6yr program) or Interactive (over saturated). Being a UX designer today is hard Id recommended a camp instead its the same equivalence. A lot of these course are hard to judge since they dont update the class summary on workday nor is it transparent. The class experience verse summary are two different things. Ive had low effort classes and the teacher is quick to leave. No office hours unless u demand it and they have a ridiculous on time policy. You'll spend wn extra $500-1k in class materials so aim for digital courses avoid the craft ones, unless your in those field. I hope your rich and have mega support cuz the rest of us its a huge finacial burden with little return. The campus is shit.... Like literally 20 million bucks and the new building is mostly for labs. Btw you cant use these labs unless you pay for a class thats attached to the lab. The only labs for everyone to use is the rapid prototype and 3D printing. The staff working there is somewhat helpful but mostly annoying useless students. I've met awful students working eager to give attitude or dont care. Inside hooper the main building its ugly and cold. Its also noisy because some classes dont have roofs. You can hear people screaming laughing and being disrespectful. CCA hires and accepts trash people. The network here is nonexistent as most of these students are talentless and self serving ppl. Ive met gen z who didnt know what is a stock img. Jesus and ppl who cried over drawing with paper and pencil. Obviously the school only looks for passionate and naive ppl who wana pay for their dream. Its a pity because CCA acceptence rate use to be 30% and they recruited some of the best. However, during my transfer year, I was informed that the animation department doesn't qualify for internships--we were basically on our own. A friend in industrial design was told her department was too small to provide internships. Job fairs only offered positions in architecture. I was also shocked to find that around 90% of the faculty did mot know any industry-standard software! The dean, who proudly identified as a traditional animator, seemed unaware what is the current state of the field. Since I transferred during COVID, it was incredibly difficult to understand how to navigate the industry post-graduation. The results speak for themselves: not a single student from my class has secured a job in the animation or any related industry, and it's been three years since we graduated. Most alarming of all was reviewing the faculty portfolios in the animation department. I strongly recommend that anyone considering CCA--or thinking about staying--take a few minutes to look into there work. You may come to the same conclusion many of us did: the animation program at this $50,000-a-year school feels like a scam. Unfortunately, I didn't read all of these reviews about CIIS before I applied. Otherwise I may have…read morebeen more prepared for the experience that unfolded for me. I applied for the undergraduate program in Psychedelics combined with a masters in East to West Psychology. I submitted all of my transcripts and writing samples, and then had a very fruitful first interview for the Psychedelics program. The woman I interviewed with was highly impressed with my knowledge of the Socratic method of teaching/learning, as well as my background and experience in cultural diversity. She seemed impressed with my writing samples and the personal stories within. She left me with the impression that I was a great fit for the school. After that, many weeks went by without any further updates from CIIS about the two other interviews required for the Masters program. I wrote them an email to ask if they needed anything further to help the process move along. I received a voicemail a couple hours later stating that a faculty member believes that AI wrote my writing sample and that they would not be admitting me to the masters program, but that they would be happy to admit me to the psychedelics undergrad program. To clarify, they accused me of fraud over a voicemail, declined my application, but then sent me an automated email with my name cued in the top (to make it seem like it was bespoke and personal to me), with AI confetti animation, accepting me into the undergrad program. First of all, I wrote my sample essay in 2020 during the COVID lockdown; pre AI chat bots. I did put my required goal statement through an AI editor to check for grammatical error and to help clean it up (as several of my friends do in their doctoral programs). However, I wrote the goal statement from deeply personal experience. I was also not aware of any restriction of using AI as a scholastic tutor or editor; nor does it say anywhere amongst the application requirements that you cannot put your paper through an editor to check for errors. All of that aside, I wasn't even accused of just using an AI editor, I was accused of having my entire writing sample fully written by AI. To be accused of full fraud, denied without even an interview or a conversation, and told so over a voicemail was a serious punch to the gut. I was truly passionate about this program and had begun the process of dedicating myself to this through the time, effort, and financial commitment it would all inevitably take. I put this offering out to them, and was told that the work was not my own, I have no say in their judgement, and no voice of my own, but "congratulations because you got in the psychedelics program". All of this after having a stellar first interview with a faculty member that had read all my sample writing and had discussed how AI would help with source notations and research as we got deeper into the program. It's clear to me that the school is scattered and not communicating well amongst themselves. So odd to have such an experience from a school that prides themselves on ethics, consideration, and deep spiritual thought. The layers of irony and unprofessional nature of the entire response has been baffling. This has also led me to question the caliber of students they are letting into the psychedelics program as they apparently shoe in those that they see as fraudulent writers so easily. As I have now read through the many reviews here, I'm less shocked. Almost beginning to feel like I've dodged a bullet by having this experience and deciding to not waste my time at CIIS at all. Feels like a lot of the world (particularly educationally) is trying to wrap their head around AI and what writing is becoming, generally what influence AI will have on critical thinking and where the line is on what it edits or helps us with. The fine balance on whether it is hurting us or helping us. I get it. However, we must not forget that a human still remains on one side of the screen. To be judged and dismissed as unfairly as I was is unacceptable; particularly from a school that puts so much weight on authenticity and giving every human the voice they deserve. There is so much focus on the fear of humans using AI to do their work, that those who genuinely put the effort in are getting brushed aside. Real creativity and human intelligence is missed amongst the cold defense of a changing world. It's sad really; this lack of trust or knowing, or even the opportunity for a word of defense. Is McCarthyism peeking its way back into our society? Though I will not continue my journey with CIIS, I will persist elsewhere. I commend anyone here seeking to dive further into the human experience and wanting to help others along the way. I hope that any discouragement you encounter on your journey from CIIS or elsewhere does not damper your calling for long. We need more people seeking to do good work now more than ever. And, no, this review was not written by AI.

This review is for the Psychedelic Assisted Therapies and Research certificate program, which I…read morecompleted in 2024. Honestly, this was an overall, terrible experience. My original mentor blatantly and illegally discriminated against me due to my disability from the word go. First, I was provided with a complete run around in terms of where to send my letter of accommodation. It seemed that no one knew or cared how students should invoke ADA. Then, my mentor criticized and pathologized me for invoking ADA, as she said I was "othering" myself by doing so, and suggested I was "impaired" because I was surprised and upset about the difficulty I received in response to a very simple accommodation request. My mentor also spoke out of turn about me to the rest of my mentor group, and told me that the group wanted me to leave because I was "different". When I first reached out to admin to request reassignment to another group, I was told I should work alone for the duration of the program, rather than be moved to another group. Basically, I was being punished for invoking ADA. This was unacceptable, so I continued to advocate for myself. With the help of a peer and the Dean of Research and Innovation, after an unreasonable amount of back and forth, I was finally placed in a new mentor group. Also, a portion of my financial aid went missing. And, I was never paid for a "focus group" I participated in. Despite my efforts, no one got back to me about any of it. And, some of my financial paperwork included the information of another student, violating the other students privacy. And, on top of it all, in a Zoom with several admin, including Program Director Laura Pustarfi, all present managed to continually misgender me, despite my pronouns being very accessible and visible on my zoom screen. Every. Last. One. Of. Them. At. Every. Turn. The program itself was ok, might have been better if I didn't have to spend a good portion of it fighting for legal ADA accommodations. Funny, tho. My original mentor was fired from CIIS during the program. And, it wasn't for discrimination against me. Turns out she was involved in some other sketchy activities. Wild that the school went to such great lengths to protect her. Why am I not surprised? Basically, CIIS pays a lot of lip service to "diversity", but doesn't seem to care about justice, inclusion, or belonging. This was just my experience. Come to find out later on, a few other colleagues had their own experiences with the program and its admins. That said, I did learn a bit more about psychedelic assisted therapies and research, though the program wasn't as academically intense or experiential as I'd hoped. And, I had the opportunity to work through and create a protocol that will allow dissociative trauma survivors to safely access MDMA assisted psychotherapy. I also met some of the most amazing people who are now dear friends. Life goes on!

CCSF attracts students from a wide swath of the population: First generation kids going to college; students getting their BA/BS to leap into graduate school debt-free and students needing to catch up and knock out coursework for full credit at University of California schools. That was my son. Getting courses you need is akin to 200 people pushing their way through a doorway and only the first 110 people getting in. Answers the registrar's office gives are not always clear. They try; they're juggling a lot. Over a year's time my son accumulated enough college credits to declare his major when he enters college. Another of his high school classmates is entering Cal as a junior. So if you have a child in middle or high school, jump ahead faster than we did and reap the knowledge and tuition savings that CCSF affords. You can knock out your undergraduate degree and save your money for a PhD, MBA or JD!

They don't care they just wait list you to death and say it's not their fault or problem but why are they taking on so many students who complain that they can't take classes? This what not my first school, I held 5 other degrees from 3 different schools when I started at this school. They were in my neighborhood so I thought it would be fun to get one more. I got yelled at every time I spoke to my advisor. It's normal there and the leadership doesn't care. They are also unresponsive so if you have any issues they won't be resolved. I wish for you all the best in your learning but AVOID! Seriously please google the news around them. It's would have never applied if I had done a little more research. This school had taught me a lot of great things with music and also a few not so great things. Most of my teachers online were great and I did the work and passed well. I had one teacher, in a music harmony class, I spent hours doing music theory work for and he gave me a D or an F on every single homework assignment. I reached out to him on email and zoom multiple times but sadly ended up with a D- in the class and waisted $3,000. I was really upset I tried my best out of any class in this class. I had to take his class again and he was already giving me D's and F's in the first 3 weeks of class. My counselor was really great and helped me transfer out of his class. I took another class in place and passed that one. All in all every teacher I had at this school was pretty great and helped me pass each class except this one. Most of the councilors I had were good too. This school is more on the pricy side so there is that as well. But I do use my degree already and I am a music teacher with it. I actually had a good experience at this school except with one time so it was overall good for me :).

I think the high school atmosphere of law school is something that happens just about everywhere due to the relatively small size of the school, the drinking and more type-A personalities than you can shake a stick at. People contemplating graduate degrees often ask me if they should go to law school - I always say that it's like swimming through a sea of tar, but once you reach the hospitable shore that is your phatty attorney salary (and serving the public and the profession), it's gonna be SWEET.

I was immediately struck by how beautiful the campus was and the surrounding neighborhood very nice (I had no idea!) There are some really gorgeous structures on campus and it's located in the middle of a neighborhood, but doesn't overwhelm it, nor detract from it. When I visited, it was very warm and there were lots of students enjoying the outdoors. I was particularly glad to see an ethnically diverse student population, not something you always find at other universities. In all, USF is an impressive looking school - small, urban and clean. I look forward to returning for a formal tour with my daughter this summer. 5 stars.

They really cared about teaching cuz they were always so passionate in class. During all my college years, I miss the teachers here the most. Their library is always quiet and great for studying. I prefer this library way better than any public library in San Francisco. Why? SFPL's schedule is not making any sense! Even though SFPL has many great locations, they keep their library hours SHORT! I don't get it, if you have such facility available, why not just extend the hours to make it more accessible for everyone? Anyways, CCSF downtown's library closes at 7:45 on most days, which fits my schedule perfectly. Even though I don't study at CCSF anymore, I would stll stop by their library if I need to get some work done. Yes, they do have guest wifi, no need to worry about not being able to connect to the rest of the world ; ) There are some great things to do near by as well. There are plenty of shops, there is a motive therator, there's places where you can play pool, where you can go ice skating, etc. You will have a lot of fun studying here.
