I used them as I get a free eye test through work but it has to be used through them. They have always been very friendly and polite when I have been in and helpful. I have bought one pair of glasses from here and I found them perfect for me. The member of staff helped me choose and suggested styles that suited me.

The staff are very helpful and you feel they are genuinely trying to help you select the best option, rather than trying to sell you the most expensive pair of glasses. The advice I received when shopping for my latest pair of glasses was excellent and I am really happy with my purchase. The only complaint I could make is a minor one and that is that when going for an eye test, you may end up waiting a fair while from when your appointment was supposed to take place.

There seem to be two big eyeglass providers on the High Street in the UK. About 2 years ago I got a…read morereminder from "the other one" that I was due for an eye exam and being fully vaccinated, and diligently wearing masks etc I decided to indeed get my eyes tested. However, while my glasses (varifocal, both normal and shades) are fine I did remember that service and after sales service left something to be desired so I decided to try Vision Express and I am glad that I did! Making the initial appointment was simple (online) and the whole process (even in these pandemic days) was a pleasant experience. The optician himself was excellent, professional and a delight to chat with on a variety of topics. And the good news is that my eyes are healthy and have barely changed - but I can keep the old ones as standbys in case of loss or breakage (although I paid a refundable (discount for my future glasses) £39 a pair to cover repair or replace the in case of breakage. Then took my time to select my frames from a bewildering array but ended up going with Ted Bakers for both. Excellent process and experience in getting fitted and selecting all my options. I would have my new glasses in 2 weeks but lo and behold barely a week later I get the text and call that they are ready. The next day I visit, try them on - perfect! Slight adjustments to the frames to make them sit optimally and I was smiling and ready to go! I will be back!

They are really good to go to if you can't afford the glasses offered you at your opticians…read more They don't do eyes tests so you need to go to your normal optician for that but then you just ask for your prescription and you take that into Direct Specs. The staff are all lovely and know their job well. They will help you choose the right specs for you. The prices are all laid out so that you know exactly what you are paying including all the add-ons for non glare etc There is a great selection with lots of choices from budget specs to expensive designer ones. Once you have chosen the glasses that you want, the staff will do all the measurements to make sure they are right for you then you pay a small deposit and they send them off. It is usually about a week until your specs are ready. They wil call you up to come and collect them. When you go to collect, they will make sure they fit OK for you and tighten them up if needed. There is a great after care service and you can go back afterwards if anything happens to them. I would recommend Direct Specs if you are having trouble buying new glasses.

I was literally in the shop for less than a minute as I was told that I was partially sighted and that they don't dispense glasses for prescriptions like mine. I'm sure their glasses are lovely but in my case the customer service was very disappointing.
