My daughter recently had a 2 hour session intended to determine if she was ready to take the DMV…read moreroad test and, if not, what skills she needed to work on in order to be successful. She is a late driver (20) and is very conscientious but nervous, so we selected Aloha based on their philosophy of being nurturing, calm, and supportive. Her experience was quite literally the opposite. It was far more detrimental than helpful. She returned home from a two hour session stressed and physically shaking. To say she was traumatized is no exaggeration. Though their google reviews are good, there are yelp reviews that mirror her experience. A detailed list of her instructors behavior is below. -Instructor immediately made a racist comment when she entered the car -- "the only person to crash my car was an Asian girl" and proceeded to show her Polaroids of the accident. -Repeatedly tried to refer her to a man who could "get her a license outside of the DMV". -Constantly Grabbed the wheel when there was no need. -Shifted, Broke, and accelerated for her with no explanation and left her confused as it what she should do -- extremely unclear about instructions. -Randomly stopped at a store off of rt. 1 for 15 minutes to get a charging cord leaving her to wait in the car. -2nd racist statement when he returned he said "sorry it took so long, you know Mexicans". -Harsh tone/raised voice in inappropriate situations. -Encouraged other drivers on the road to make illegal/dangerous passes. -Instructed her to drive down lee chapel road to show her where the two SoCo students recently died. -Played Christian music the entire time, both distracting and potentially insensitive. -Generally unkind, unhelpful, and actively worsened her confidence in her ability to drive. The more I think about this, the angrier I get about this experience. I am convinced he was trying to make her feel like a far worse driver than she is to refer her to his sketchy friend for an illegal license. I did contact the owner and received a phone call two days later confirming that he had spoken with her instructor who confirmed "some" of what she reported. He was apologetic and agreed to refund our $150 fee and offered to personally give her a lesson. We declined. I am only writing this review to warn others.

I read reviews from several surrounding driving programs and the best I found was NOVA driving…read moreschool. From the moment I emailed stating I was interested in finding a behind-the-wheel program, to the set up of the first appointment, it was about a day. We received a text message from Paul requesting a day and time to meet for the first appointment. First appointment, the parent must be there (with their drivers license), the payment for the program, and your teen driver must have their permit, logged hours and DC1 card ready to show prior to getting in the vehicle. There will be other teen drivers and there is no set daily schedule so you MUST be patient and flexible. We would get an estimated time of pick up the day before, and at times, he could be running early or late, but that is because you can't predict what will occur with the other drivers. My daughter loved driving with Paul. "He was calm and never condescending,".....her exact words. At the end of the 7 hours, he completed the paperwork for the DMV, as well as, the paperwork to be filed for courthouse (which he submitted for us) and gave her the provisional license (the parent must be present for this, as well because your signature is required). Everything was so organized and easy. If you can get past the slightly unstructured schedule, you can have confidence that your soon-to-be new driver will have a successful and positive experience.

Professional company on their commitment and communications. I was referred to them by a friend and was impressed with their service. Definitely recommend.

It was overwhelming wading through the available driving schools online and trying to decide based on reviews. We were quickly reassured that we made a great choice and we are very happy to have chosen Signal Hill Manassas Driving School. Chas was very responsive to our inquiries and is very professional. Most of all however, he is personable, friendly and is very good with teenagers. Chas is a great driving instructor!

Chas was very impatient with me, raising his voice and kept asking if I had a learning disability after I would ask a question to reassure myself. He was yelling at me to break, which caused me to panic before he would aggressively break the car. He would then fully lose his patience and straight up tell me "I can't teach you." He after yelling at me took me to a parking lot to drive and then became calm. He made the lesson free, even though I had it with his class. I took this class August of 2021 and I haven't driven a car since. The risk is your own, but if you think this is the one go for it.
