My family and I go to Pumpkin Daze at Abbey Farms every year. It's the most analog of the pumpkin patch places in the area and it suits us very well. The kids love it and it's usually not very crowded which makes for a very pleasant way to spend a day. The tickets are a little pricey, but it includes plenty of activities including a petting zoo and corn maze. They have an indoor and an outdoor bar as well as a lunch restaurant and shop, so you really could spend the whole day! read more

Came here out of curiosity, I always past Abbey Farm when I'm driving about and decided to actually check the place out. I mostly explored the store and the front portion of the farm. When you initially walk onto the property there's a sight that has an arrow pointing towards the direction of the store and another arrow pointing towards the direction of the ticket booth. I didn't go to the ticket booth so I'm not sure what that area entails. This review will be restricted to the store and their pumpkin patch selection that's located out front. I really enjoyed the store. They have a bunch of treats and knick knacks available for purchase. I ended up buying 1/2 dozen of donuts. 3 were apple cider and the other 3 were their pumpkin donuts. The pumpkin ones were pretty tasty, but their Apple Cider donuts take the cake by far. So delicious! As far as the pumpkin selection out front I thought it was a little sad. Came here on the last day of their fall season and it was a perfect place to keep my 3 and 5 year old entertained. It was not crowded and we were able to really enjoy whatever we wanted. The jumping pilow was a favorite, but they have plenty of areas to explore with old tires, a "pirate ship," an old combine tractor turned into a slide. Their gift shop left a little to be desired. They didn't have many things for young children. And it being the last day of the season, the only thing I was able to purchase was their donuts (I was hoping for a pie!). I worry that the animals are tremendously over stimulated. Duck races: he loved this! Mini tractor ride: the kids were "meh" about it but it was something nice to offer. Hamster tire rolling: something unique to try I felt like 3 years old was the perfect age to go and that he was able to do most of the activities. Most kids would find plenty to enjoy here. Feedback: -Better signage for parking outside of the main lot. It was not clear where to park once that was full at 10:30am and people were parking at the church. -The food wasn't very good (skip it). Don't charge $6.50 for a pretzel or cheese sticks but then $2 for marinara or cheese. That's a normal side for those things so $2 is ridiculous. I was shocked that the nachos were only $6.50 and they didn't charge me extra for the cheese! - The bratwurst was bland (it's not cooked on a grill.) What a wonderful experience at Abbey Farms. It was busy but we went through the lines fast. We got a tree we cut down ourselves. The key here is to look look look. You will find your perfect dream tree. The staff was wonderful through directions, helping wrap the tree and at the service desk. We got a huge 6.5-7 foot tree for 70$. We also got free donuts and hot chocolate. There's a gift shop with gifts, jams, sauces and fresh food. Had so much fun here and really reccomend it. This place is cute and lots of space, minimal lines on a Saturday, and very cute activities for kids. At $22 admission, I would say it's not as great value as Bengstons. Also many of the activities like the go-carts and pillow bounce are unstaffed and get overrun by bigger kids or even drunk adults. There is wine and beer (and maybe even white claw) sold from a tent with live music. The pro is that there is alcohol for the parents. The con is lots of drunk moms and dads :) read more

What a cool place. Found a great deal on Groupon, took the whole family and everyone had a great time. I can't believe I have never heard of Abbey Farms before. There are so many things to do here and mostly everything is included in the admission price except for the Hamster Ball activity and the Corn Launcher. There is zip lining, a ninja-type maze that is made up of stretchy rope that is tied across a field of trees replicating lazer lines that'll zap you if touch them, a mountain of giant tires to climb, a corn maze, dirtbikes to ride, a giant slide, a giant pillow to bounce on, and of course the hayride to the actual pumpkin patch. There is even a beer garden inside just in case parents needed a bit of a "pick-me-up" during the day. The staff was super friendly as well. Don't be surprised if you see a few guys in dark brown robes walking around. They are the monks that own the property. One was even kind enough to let me try the corn launcher and it was awesome! This was one of the best pumpkin patches that I've been too. Pumpkin patches are getting so expensive these days that a family of 4 will already cost over $100 just to get in! Word of mouth brought us to this place. An interesting place, the restaurant served lunch, which was very good. Patty Melt was quite tasty, enjoyed the potato salad, the side salad was healthy, fresh , overall lunch was delicious. We looked around, saw they were selling wine which came from California, so we were given a taste and we bought a bottle, very good Cabernet, I'd recommend it. We enjoyed walking around the place, saw they had a nice outdoor seating area. Overall , we would come back during the fresh vegetables season . This is for the restaurant part of Abbey Farms (I haven't gone to the other parts of the farm). We came late on a Friday afternoon around 3:30. They close at 5, so we wanted to stop in a give it a try as we heard they had some good Belgium beers. I'm glad we did. We met some friends for some appetizers and beers. There was NOBODY else there, which is a shame. The chicken quesadillas and artichoke dip were excellent. In fact the artichoke dip came with just the right amount of bread and pita slices. Something that rarely happens. The beer is made by the Marmion Monks from the Abbey with the help of Energy City Brewing. I tried the Tripel and the Quad. Both were excellent (they have a Dubbel too). The place reminds me of a huge barn with lots of tables that you'd find at your grandmothers house. The chairs were even comfortable. The service was great and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Hopefully they'll expand their hours to be a little more "after work" friendly. Afterwards we walked around an shopped at their store, which is on the outer edges of the space. They said they do a busy Sunday Brunch. If their appetizers were any indication, I could see why. Before my wife and I were married, we wanted to go out to see a bunch of cool attractions before we got busy with wedding planning. We stumbled onto Abbey Farms in Aurora and I have to say it was an absolutely magical time. We went with our couple friends and it was a great spot for a double date. There were plenty of animals to see, pet, and feed as well as multiple fun attractions. Some of these included the corn maze (I totally didn't get lost in there), a bouncing pad, and a tractor ride through the corn. Though most of these are geared towards children I'm not ashamed to say I had an absolute blast here. The highlight however, has to be the food. You can get such fresh treats like an apple cider that's freshly made right in front of you as well as delicious pumpkin pies. $15 to enter on weekend is pretty expensive considering there isn't much to do for adults besides a small corn maze and pick your own punpkins which you still have to buy. Spent about an hour here, the store is a few sections of tables with items to buy but there is not a large selection at all. Walked through in minutes, no apple butter, no pumpkin butter. I guess the day before we came they had a lot of people there but to see the place completely sold out of these common fall staples in mid-October was disappointing. The corn maze took 5 minutes to walk through. The also have a smaller kids maze we didn't walk in but I can't see why they would need another one since the adult one was so small. The pumpkin selection was decent and why I give this place 2 stars. 45 cents a pound. Walked around the whole place and saw lots of kids activities but nothing that looked too exciting. A slide, a bouncy, a small petting zoo, rubber duck race that looked cheaply thrown together, a lasso area to rope bull statues. Nothing seemed too exciting for a kid and I'm happy I never brought my kids here when they were small, would have felt like even more of a waste. They also have "hamster balls" but if you want to try them you need to arrive early because there are only 4 balls, 2 small and 2 large, which time slots fill up for the whole day fast plus they're extra money besides the entrance fee to try. Trees are beautiful and the service of prepping them to take away on top of your car is excellent. Don't forget to tip the tree man who helps you! This past Christmas season, we weren't able to get our tree until December 2nd since we were so busy with our fundraiser event Nov. 30th and the work after it. But our tree lasted to January 6th, still supple and fragrant even if I stopped watering it on the evening of the 5th! I'm certain it was cut at the farm Thanksgiving week. Inside the huge barn/store you get free hot chocolate and a baked sweet. Lots of goodies for sale, too. We have been going to Abbey Farms to attend their annual Pumpkin Daze event for four years in a row. With all that's going on in the world, I assumed Pumpkin Daze might not happen this year... but not only is it happening, it's a shining example of how businesses can operate during the global pandemic. To say I was impressed with Abbey Farms' approach to making sure everyone remained safe and healthy would be an understatement. Why? Let me list the reasons... - Timed ticketed entrance - Hand sanitizer at the entrances and exits of each activity - Staff at each entrance reminding patrons to use the sanitizer - Masks required on certain attractions (and even when socially distanced, outside, nearly every person I saw kept theirs on!) - Clever signs reminding folks to socially distance (MOOOOOOOOVE back at least 6 feet) - Staff constantly disinfecting surfaces and equipment I haven't seen such stellar Covid-19 practices ANYWHERE. Abbey Farms truly has something for everyone to do here! This was was my first time ever coming to this location and I was so pleasantly surprised. It's gigantiThere's a petting zoo, corn maze, pumpkin patch, tire playground, and more. I loved every bit of my experience. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we tried to avoid large crowds and engaging on any hands-on activity but we still had a blast! They are requiring masks but I did see a few people not wearing them in larger crowds, so just be aware. It's okay to remove masks when there is no one around since you are in open air but please remember to keep them on when there are people around. They have sanitizers stationed around. They also have cute signs reminding people to remain socially distant. They are restricting their capacity and require you to set the time you will be coming. If you do not make it within the hour, you cannot extend, so come on time! I cannot wait to come back when the pandemic subsides. Then, I will truly take advantage of all that Abbey Farms has to offer! We did buy from their concession stands and personally, the food was not amazing. We had the burger and the mac and cheese and it tasted a bit bland. But the highlights were the hot dog, donuts, and cider! Their store is amazing though! They sell pumpkin donuts alongside apple cider which is rare. Their apple cider donuts are delicious! And they have a TON of amazing homemade jams, dips, and spreads. I recommend buying the mango salsa. They have a plethora of seasonings and cooking ingredients. So glad to have found this hidden gem in Aurora! I love Abbey Farms! Admittedly I've only been here in the fall season, but I look forward to going every year. The grounds are great and there is so much to explore. Everyone who works here is super friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy their job - and most are volunteers! There are a few different entrances to Abbey Farms, but the signage is pretty helpful in directing you where to go. Last year they re-did the parking lot which looks very nice. It is free to browse the barn where they have a nice little market in the fall with pumpkins outside to purchase as well. If you wanted to get the full Pumpkin Daze experience, that does cost extra money, but includes a lot of fun -- petting zoo, zip line, corn maze, beer tent (drinks not included in general admission price), pumpkins, and plenty of photo opportunities! Pumpkin Daze looks like a great time for kids, but we have just as much fun walking around with our dog every year :) The market inside the barn has a ton of great stuff from local folks. You can find dips, jams, crafts, art, home decor and more. On our last visit I purchased a really cute and rustic looking sign for our front door. We always make sure to get some donuts to take home too, because they are delicious! The donuts are baked fresh and it smells amazing in there. We took home a combo back of apple and pumpkin donuts, but I think the apple are my favorite. They have a pavilion you can rent for a private party and they do bonfire pit rentals as well. Tractor rides happen too, but I'm not sure if that's at specific times or all throughout Pumpkin Daze. Abbey farms also hosts some themed weekend like "grandparents weekend" and "farm olympics". This pumpkin farm is awesome. So much to do for kids and such a large property with a lot to see. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy and parking lot was full. Our favorite part was the Petting zoo. Love that it wasn't just the usual goats and sheep as they had so much more a young cow, 2 little pigs, a donkey, chickens, bunny, goose, and yes you can pet them all and with them in a fenced area. Granddaughter also did the huge bouncing pad, tractor ride and a few times of sliding down the hill on a gunnysack. We going back and going to tackle the huge corn maze. We found a couple great pumpkins and also some donuts (pumpkin and apple cider ). Yummmmm. Bring lots of $ because you can go crazy in the store. We probably seen 20 dogs there, so dog friendly, they also had a beer tent that also had wine and water so something for everyone . First time here and loved the experience. Very organized especially with the covid situation going on. Reservations to purchase a precut or to cut your own tree required to prevent overcrowding. Checkin process was easy. Parking easy. More than enough employees to help. All employees were friendly and helpful. Store was nice with the cutest things and holiday music. Cute!! Unfortunately we came during the week so the petting zoo wasn't open which was soooo disappointing and one of the only reasons we wanted to come here. The kids had fun with everything they could climb and slide down. The tractor ride....well lets just say it was one bumpy ride and dont let any kids sit near the open back where the doors are. We tried to do the corn maze but it was sooo muddy and wet we never got to finish it. We ended up getting a half dozen doughnuts on our way out which so far they are delicious. We took 7 year old granddaughter to Abby farms yesterday for honey fest. It was a beautiful day weather wise and enjoyable for us as well as granddaughter. Abby farms is very family oriented with so much to do. The farm is very clean and well kept. The store had many fun and great honey items for sale. The food in the takeout area was good. We set out on Saturday with high hopes and Christmas tree dreams. We got that and more! When we arrived, we were directed to areas of the farm that had still had trees we could cut down ourselves. Admittedly, the selection was a bit sparse, but it was mid-December already, so I think that's to be expected. We found a tree that was perfect in its imperfections, so we got to work with our rented saw. Let me rephrase, my husband got to work. We cheered him on as he sweated and sawed. The guys over at the tree bagging area were very helpful and kind. The tree cost us $55 after we got our deposit back for the saw. What we didn't expect was the lovely store! It's gorgeous inside and the complimentary hot chocolate and donuts will keep us coming back year after year. We also sampled a giant brat and pear and goat cheese flatbread - truly delicious! My wife found a groupon and thought it would be a nice thing to do with the little one. We decided to invite our 2 best friends along. The farm was pretty cool. We ended up arriving here around 5:00pm (when you have an 8 month old, you'll understand), but that was okay since they are open until 10:00pm. A quick note, if you are bringing little ones most of the attractions and activities close at 6:00pm. The farm is nice, tucked away off Butterfield road next to Marmion Academy. There was a petting zoo, or an excuse for a petting zoo. Pony rides, a huge trampoline, inflatable slides, yard checkers, a bike track thing, another slide, hayrides, food, corn mazes, and beer. Yes beer, and not just crappy water beer, but some craft beers, like Lagunitas IPA and Two Brothers. It is your standard, average pumpkin patch farm with the activities you would expect. The kettle corn popcorn, and apple cider donuts were very good, but I can't be sure they make them on site. Overall, this is a great family attraction on the weekend with your little ones. Be careful, once that sun goes down, I would advise not to try out the corn maze, like we did. It took forever to get back out! read more

The selection was abysmal and after searching for a long time we finally found an enormous tree that we struggled with. We walked all over looking but all we saw were Charlie Brown Christmas trees. Or tall partially barren misshaped ones. The premises were filled with very deep extreme ruts that are best navigated with an off road vehicle. Staff was hard to find for help or assistance. I honestly do not remember details of bailing nor tying the tree up to the trunk. Its been 3 years but what I share in this review are accurate memories.
