After being long standing customers of this business even sticking by it when it was rated badly we…read morehave to say that they have lost two families who will never go back! The whole experience started badly when once again the phone was answered and before i was able to even ask for the first part of our order I was bluntly told 'can you just hold one one minute' to which the man proceeded to answer another call and take the order...whilst I was stupid enough to keep holding whilst listening to him happily taking the order from the other line! I mean how rude! not even an apology, and tbh this has happened many times when I have called to order. On this particular occasion the food arrived 1 hour and 20 minutes after the order was placed even though we were advised it would take 45 mins to an hour. When the food did arrive late because the driver got lost (let me point out again that we have had food delivered to this address for several years) although the driver did apologize the food was cold... When the driver called Hot and Spice after we requested some discount (£10 we requested that's all after a party of 8 had ordered) Hot and Spice refused this and would only discount a measly £5! The whole evening with friends was ruined after one by one we had to heat our food up in the microwave, and the rudeness and couldn't care less attitude was shown once too often. This is the place for you if you want rude service and cold food :-( :(

Well, usually i use this take away once a week for a treat. however, never again will i order from…read morethis dive!! At 18:27 tonight, i placed an order for delivery AFTER 1900. At 1930, we called up to ask where the food was...we were told someone had already tried to deliver once and no one was in. We told them we had been in the house since 18:55. The guy said "ok, give me 5 minutes". 30 minutes passed and STILL no food!! So, we called AGAIN! Again, we were told "5 minutes" Finally, the food turned up over 60 minutes late. The delivery woman came up our drive way ranting and raving that this is the 2nd time she had called here! No apology, just abuse and rudeness. We told her we had been here since 5 to 7 sat in the window waiting. She then shouts that she was here at 1845, i am sorry, but when we asked for food AFTER 7pm, it is not our fault that she came early!! she then started arguing saying she was the one who took the order and we never said for it to be delivered after 7pm!! She was calling us liars! Why would we be asked for food to be here when we ourselves would not be?! Normally, we would have taken the food and accepted an apology for this misunderstanding...however, with her bad attitude and NO customer service...we sent it back. Called and spoke to the manager who had "sorry" to say. Sorry, but that is not good enough. We are now off to bed hungry and extremely annoyed at what WAS our favourite take away. We are now taking our customer elsewhere.

Have used Golden Tree for about 10/years - quality always consistent, friendly staff and little…read morethings - like the fresh (not frozen) chips always cooked in clean oil - show this place cares. I'd love them to do delivery but as it stands I'll gladly park on the supermarket car park at the back and collect as it's worth it not to be disappointed with delivery from other places in town. Prices are about town average, or maybe 10p per dish more, but when it's good, who cares about 10p?! :)
