I was looking for a meaningful gift, something she could fit in her suitcase... One day I stumbled upon Bella Photography's pictures on their Facebook page. I couldn't be happier with my decision to book a photography session with Bella Photography. In two days (!), I received 15 pictures in a Dropbox of our photography session. They are GORGEOUS. I mean, they look like pictures I would pin on Pinterest. But I'm in them! If you think the prices are astronomical, think again. Pricing information is on their website. It is an incredible deal - I paid $100 for one hour session at a gorgeous Kansas City location. I seriously paid more for pictures at Target that were not close to the quality of these pictures. The booking was a simple process. Lindsey Simoes answered the email back right away with more information and we quickly agreed on location, day, and time. I paid through PayPal to reserve the date. She stayed in touch days before the session and answered all my questions. At the day of the session, she and her husband Fabio were timely waiting for us with their beautiful two kids, who also had cameras (too cute!). It truly is a family business! They were extra patient with my Mom and my 3 year old son. Instead of frustration with a toddler that followed no directions, they played with him and took super cute candid pictures. The memories these photographs bring now will be everlasting. My mom is thrilled and sharing them like there is no tomorrow on her Facebook page among her friends. My gift this Mother's Day will be remembered throughout the years. To tell the truth, these pictures ended up being the best Mother's Day gift for myself too. Website photos looked great and it seemed they specialized in child/family. I called to reserve and got Dan the husband answering the phone and setting up the appointment. First time out, I got lost and one of the godsons had a major car sickness accident. So rescheduled and made it for another time. It is in the lower half/ walk-out basement of their home. Be aware that there are plenty of steps down before you get in the studio. The setup very nice. Plenty of toys to keep the kids entertained. Angie was nice and professional. A week later I returned to view the pictures she took. Back down to the studio she has a comfortable viewing section with overhead projection. I easily made my selections and was handed a menu of packages and prices. I paid half and was told in around 4 weeks I would get a call for pictures done and pay other half.

Oh my--where to begin! I'll start by saying that Shawn and Kodi are incredible, and the photos are…read moreof equal caliber. Now to jump into the details...  We were initially going to get married in Kansas City, but then we opted to get married somewhere close to us. I reached out to Shawn to let him know we weren't getting married in KC any longer, but he said they would be willing to travel to Savannah, GA to shoot our wedding. I was a little hesitant about using a photographer who wasn't from the area and not meeting them before the wedding (my husband wasn't up for engagement photos), but I loved their photos and knew we were in good hands with how responsive he was every time I reached out to him. They were great about working with us on the package, and we immediately felt a connection to him during our pre-wedding call. Shawn had great ideas about our "sparkler" photo timing and had great insight on the timeline.  When we met Shawn and Kodi a couple of weeks later at the rehearsal, we knew we had made the right decision based on their professionalism and the demeanor between the two of them. On the wedding day, Shawn showed up in a tuxedo to shoot and was the definition of professionalism. I knew he was incredibly talented the minute he started taking photos of our rings and other details, and I was blown away by how quickly he got through the wedding party and family photos. (Either my family was on their best behavior or he was completely keeping them in line--going with the latter!) We had some ideas of where to shoot photos, but Shawn had the eye for where we should set up and how we should pose. I thought it would be awkward, but it was so much fun since he was great at giving instructions and kept us moving at a seemingly natural pace.  Kodi served as the second shooter, and her energy was incredibly calming that day. She was an amazing support to Shawn (or so it appeared to us) and also to me--from reminding us when to bring flowers, coordinating timing details, making me feel at ease for being AN HOUR AND A HALF BEHIND SCHEDULE (Yikes!!!! All my fault, not theirs!), and so much more. Their ability to work as such a strong team was so wonderful to watch, and it enhanced the experience for me because they were able to play off each other's ideas and personalities to come up with the best shots and provide the most perfect experience.  We are in the process of getting the photos back now, and I've been so blown away by everything they caught, their creative eye on some shots, and how they were able to make my husband and I feel so comfortable so we had "natural" smiles in the photos. I also love how they caught moments that may have seemed small at the time but are so precious now that I'm looking back on them. The only sad part of this process is that we don't get to hang with them again, as they were truly such a joy to be around and work with throughout the entire process. I cannot say enough positive things about Swander Photography and am so grateful I stumbled across them! Please book them--you won't regret it!
