There is ample parking. The inside holds 100 and the stone terrace holds 200. Elegant Fare handles all events held at the Lodge. Our daughter got married this past summer. She wanted a vintage/rustic event and the beauty of the natural surroundings and gorgeous venue convinced us the moment we saw it. The ceremony was held out on the terrace. The 220 guests had appetizers on the circular drive while the staff converted the ceremony space and wrap around porch into a seated reception with an area for dancing and DJ. We worked with Julie at Elegant Fare and she was knowledgable, flexible, accomodating and professional. The food was flawless. I can't say enough good things about our experience with this facility.

This was such a delight to walk into a Victorian home where the dining area we were sitting in was decked out and I felt like I had walked into a scene of "Downton Abbey." The tea was delicious! All the food was beautifully presented (Unfortunately for those who are gluten and dairy free, make sure you eat beforehand, none of the options cater to those limitations, however they did have fruit kabobs!). The tour of the home was a fun exploration and our tour guide was very informative of the time period and the residents of the home back in the 1800's.

It is one of those places that reminds you not to underestimate Ohio's natural beauty. There are hiking challenges too you can sign up for prizes. There is a really cute nature themed playground that is perfect for kids. This place also makes an amazing venue for events. You can rent spaces for parties or weddings, which is my dream venue. The welcome center is one of my favorite parts. They have live animals that are very well cared for, including rehabilitated raptors, which is so cool to see up close. There is also a large gift shop, a cozy lounging area, and coffee from Coffee Emporium available to buy. It is a great place to relax and take everything in, especially if you enjoy birdwatching. They also host seasonal events, and their Christmas lights event is one of my favorites. It really brings the whole place to life in a special way. The staff here are consistently kind, welcoming, and genuinely happy to talk with you. They are always willing to answer questions and make the experience even better. Overall, this is such a peaceful, educational, and well maintained place. Definitely somewhere you can keep coming back to and still enjoy every time.

The homey feel of the place also survived (or, rather, thrived under) the renovation. You feel as though you're in the sitting room of the home of a fabulously wealthy friend. There's plenty of room for a bridal/baby shower, birthday or holiday party, or small wedding reception. I didn't get to really poke around a lot, but the upstairs has been converted to offices and I lost count of the number of restrooms. I would love to come back during the daytime and see the gardens out back! I didn't deal with any of the logistics of the event I went to, but if they're as good at business as they are at throwing parties, definitely have them on your short list!
