Unfortunately, my experience with the day staff has been distressing and far below the standard of care that I believe should be expected from a medical institution.
Specifically, I would like to bring to your attention the behavior of Wanda, the individual who answers the call button when I press it. Wanda has been extremely disrespectful to me on multiple occasions, and she continues to hang up on me before our conversations are complete. This first occurred yesterday and again today. Such behavior is not only unprofessional but also detrimental to my well-being and recovery.
In addition, I have experienced significant delays in receiving my scheduled pain management medication. Despite my nurse, Jessica, having only two other patients in her care, my medication has been consistently administered hours behind schedule. Jessica claims that she did not receive the messages from the nurse's station, indicating a breakdown in communication and a lack of urgency in addressing patient needs.
Here are some quotes from my experience:
"When I pressed the call button for assistance, Wanda hung up on me before our conversation was complete. This happened yesterday and again today."
"Despite having only two other patients in her care, my nurse, Jessica, administered my pain medication hours behind schedule. She claimed that she did not receive the messages from the nurse's station."
The delays in receiving my pain medication have caused me prolonged discomfort and distress, negatively impacting my recovery process.
I have already reported this issue to the charge nurse on March 3rd, but no corrective action was taken. Additionally, I emailed the Hospital Complaints Department , but I have not received a response.
I am reporting this because I believe that it is crucial to address these issues to ensure that patients are treated with the respect and care they deserve. I kindly request that you address the following matters urgently:
Staff should not hang up on patients who have been admitted to the hospital and are calling for help. This behavior is unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.
There must be clear and effective communication among the hospital staff to ensure that patient care is not compromised. Delays in administering medication and lack of attention to patient needs cannot continue.

According to the Patient's Bill of Rights, patients have the right to respectful and considerate care.
Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), patient care information must be communicated effectively and promptly among healthcare providers.
Additionally, I am deeply concerned about the impact this lack of respect and communication might have on other patients, especially those who may not be able to speak up for themselves. This is wrong and needs to be rectified.
I kindly request a formal investigation into my case and a written explanation of the actions the hospital will take to prevent similar occurrences. Additionally, I expect a formal apology and improvements in hospital policies and procedures to ensure better patient care.
I will be following up with the hospital management, patient advocate, ombudsman, and the state health department or regulatory agencies if necessary. Please provide a written response within 14 days outlining the hospital's plan to address this issue.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of these issues.
