He left the forms on the front porch, claiming he was serving "Sue" (not her real name but a typical woman's name) who is a 140 lb woman. The server wrote on the proof of service that she was served ("I delivered the documents to "Sue" with identity confirmed by subject stating their name. .... The individual appeared to be a white male contact over 65 years of age, 5'6"-5'8" tall and weighing 200-240 lbs with glasses."). Then the server left the papers on the front porch. A man at the home would not have confirmed he was "Sue". If you want forms properly and *legally* served, find another service company. read more

This company sucks. Their customer service is ridicules and non-existent. I have been requesting for a POS for a subpoena that we served four days ago with no success. I've requested to talk to a supervisor which never happened. To this minute. I've not received a call or the POS or an explanation for the issue. This is not my first issue with ABC Legal. I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone or any firm. Do NOT use them. found abc legal and used them, paid the 76 and they never provided the service. I called them after they said address issues, etc and I was constantly out on hold. Terrible and customer service is nonexistent. ABC Legal Services, LLC made a mistake on the proof of service despite being given explicit instructions, which would render the service defective. Despite two requests to correct the proof of service, I received no response and no corrected proof of service. I then telephoned the customer service line. The customer service uses AI only. You can opt to have them return your call instead of waiting, which I chose to do since it said there were 20 calls in front of me. However, when it called me back half an hour later, there was no-one there and no response. Lesson learned, will never ever ever use them again. read more

Horrendous service. The amount of mistakes they make on paperwork is unreal! I have had to ask them to change mistakes so many times I've lost count! They have a different employee working on the same case every time you contact them, and there is no communication or consistency between them. They do not use the proper forms but rather make up a new form through some kind of software and do digital signatures. It is incredibly time-consuming to use this company, since you constantly have to check their mistakes and send messages back telling them to fix things. Not only Is everything others have said in their various 1-star reviews in line with my experience, their process servers seem to go the extra mile by committing perjury and fraud on their proof of service documents. Two different process servers claim to have served me personally. The first spoke with a friend while I wasn't home and then described me in the proof of service as a "black haired asian male contact 55-65 years of age, 5'6"-5'8" tall and weighing 160-180 pounds." The person they spoke to would be accurately described as a "red haired asian female 45-55 years of age, 5'0"-5'4" tall and weighing 100-120 pounds." I honestly have no idea who the second process server spoke with, but they described me in the proof of service as "A gray-haired Hispanic male contact 55-65 years of age, 5'8"-5'10" tall and weighing 140-160 pounds with an accent." I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and have lived in the SF Bay Area my entire life. I do not have an accent. I'm a caucasian male and do not look at all hispanic or asian. I'm 5'6" tall and 210 pounds. Clearly, their goal is just to collect the money and they don't care if they actually properly serve the documents or not. I've filed a complaint with their offices and with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office. When I called them to gather information about their service processing I was told one thing but when I actually hired them I was told something different. I hired them 3 days ago and it's been awful. I've been on the line or messaging with customer support more times than I should and each person gives me a different answer This company is a money grab agency and they do not deliver on what they tell you they will do. Absolutely cannot follow directions: I asked them to serve either defendant who was found at the address I provided with a skip trace or to serve her roommate. Instead they asked the roommate if the defendant lived there and of course was told no as this defendant has evaded service in the past and then they gave me a could not find proof of service. I used their service at the recommendation of Same Day Serve LA, who couldn't provide service outside of LA county. ABC Legal's process servers seem to be generally incompetent and deliberately causing problems with serving defendants. They put a completely different and unknown name on several court documents, like the proof of service I need to file with the court, even after I called to notify them they were writing my name wrong. My name is right there on the order, and they still put someone else's name entirely?!?! Seems antiBlack racist to me. Additionally, their process servers are claiming they made several failed attempts to deliver service, but when I called the defendant personally, they notified me that no actual attempts to serve were made. So, the process server went to the location, took pictures, but never actually attempted to serve the documents, according to the defendant's office. Finally, their process servers are attempting to serve documents at business office addresses 2 to 3 hours after the close of the business day, which obviously is going to be a failed attempt. If we could do no stars, I would! If you need to serve someone, you know that you need to do it prior to the certain court date. Well THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT CARE OR CHECK FOR THE DUE DATE. Tried to use them for a "stakeout" we paid the money. WE WAITED WITH HOPES AND FINALLY DECIDED TO CHECK IN. they never found a person to do the stakeout, we were not notified, WE HAD TO CALL TO CHECK IN - so we LOST time being able to serve the person even with regular attempts. (only good thing about this case was the actual person trying to serve the defendant, he was really nice and communicated with us directly towards the end) We decided to try them again for a different case, they didn't assign anyone to the case until two weeks later and after 7 days of it being assigned NOT ONCE WAS THERE AN ATTEMPT TO SERVE. Seems like a scam!! I explained that the person to be served works in the evening but they kept going in the evening to make attempts. They also listed they made two attempts 15 min apart with the pic looking suspect( same pic but crop) I would not recommend. read more

Served within 24 hours, taht part was fine. But the proof of service was not filed or scanned properly, and they never sent me my original copy. This improperly scanned copy was blue, scanned backwards, and was rejected by the courts and they charged me an overnight fee to have the original copy sent. Terrible service! read more

I do not recommand you use their service. They don't put much effort in serving. They claim they couldn't serve for me because the place needed a code to enter and I assume they didn't wait long enough to catch someone entering or leaving the building. How this company is still active is beyond me. I have used them plenty in the past with no issues but there is a first for everything. I purchased a regular process serving package on the 8th of May 2024, and all I needed was for them to walk papers into Comerica Bank and hand them to ANY employee. Today is the 14th of May 2024 and STLL no proof of service. The reason they say is because they need 5 business days from the time the actual process server receives the documents. According to ABC the process server barely received the papers on the 10th of May 2024 and now they are slow dragging. This one (1) star company is a joke and a blemish on the legal system. This company is insufficient and cannot handle any additional basic requests. I placed a request for documents to be served and requested that the server sign/date two extra documents as part of the service request, and it has taken two weeks, and I was told today (14 days later), after following up with them five separate times, that they are unable to complete this request. We have used multiple companies as a law firm, and this company is by far the WORST. Now, we are at risk of a hearing continuance. We now must seek a different service provider to complete service because they could not handle the request. I clearly stated my instructions in my initial submission, and if it was something that the company could not handle, they should have denied the request right away instead of having us wait two full weeks to be told they cannot complete the service. read more

This company is a joke. They attempt to bring in new process servers claiming $40 per completion of papers served. Only after going through the hassle of becoming licensed can a server access their app to see available assignments which only pay btwn $18-$32. Meanwhile they're charging the customer that's trying to get papers served a minimum of $75 and an additional $65 if it's a rush service. They keep the extra $65 with the server only getting an increase in notifications indicating a $23 assignment is available. After looking at Thumbtack, Craigslist and a few others I found that servers in my area charge btwn $92-$125 flat rate. Don't be a fool and use abc legal to save a few bucks.
