House fried noodles
Melissa E.

Wow not the same place it used to be. Service was uncertain and inattentive. Ordered house pan fried noodles which had good flavor but the noodles weren't cooked still crunchy. I was told extra sauce could be added and then I could wait hopefully they would soften. Although the dish was lukewarm at best so didn't try extra sauce just didn't eat noodles which kind of sucked for full price meal. Also both myself and my friend asked for our dishes to be spicy - they added a couple slices of raw jalapeño which didn't add heat and was very unexpected. Overall I would not go back. Ordered my kids takeout they didn't love it seasame chicken was not well fried and they said fried rice was bland.

Dried scallop and mushroom soup on top (very yummy and flavorful). Mapo tofu on bottom (so bland and no spice).

Got take out from here so maybe I'd give another star if I ate in-house but overall pretty bland. Definitely some good dishes but some left a lot to be desired. I would try again but not before I tried another Chinese place in town.

I tell no lies. Ribeye with co sauce. Best Chinese on west coast of Florida. Looks like a dump outside. Thee best food with nicest people. All Asian eating inside!

Will return: the best sesame balls 煎堆! Calm, with Zen-like music and fake bird chirping. The decor feels outdated. The staff are polite and kind, and they didn't laugh at my Cantonese (though they switched to Mandarin - oh well). Chairs are low; the portions are large. We had two fish dishes: Black bean flounder 豆豉/豉汁 and Sichuan spicy fish fillet 水煮鱼, which wasn't the smartest choice -- that was my fault. Both dishes looked unusual - dark and no floating oil, which I don't mind, but tasted okay: I'd order the flounder again, but not the Sichuan fish fillet. All the fish prices are 'seasonal'. At a Cantonese seafood restaurant, live fish are typical. But when the server asked me 'pomanno' or 'flounder,' I knew we'd be eating dead fish. The flounder was very clean, per this bone lover. By the way, they do have salty fish chicken tofu clay pot 咸鱼鸡粒豆腐煲 - next time. The sesame balls are served on a bed of white radish, which is odd, but they're some of the best I've had. We arrived at 5:30, and it gets busy by 6:30, mostly with non-Asian customers who do seem like regulars. The bathroom is decent, especially compared to the one at Rocca, which we visited two days ago. It was so peaceful upon our arrival. When I moved my chair, it squeaked--maybe try using tennis balls on the chair (may not look nice...); I'd donate some. It's a little out of the way from downtown St. Pete (about 20 minutes to the St. Pete opera), which is why we didn't come sooner.

Let me preface this by saying i'm Thai and my wife is Chinese. We're both born and raised NYer's. ABC Seafood is hands down our favorite Chinese style restaurant in Tampa Bay. It is the closest thing we have found to real NYC style Chinese food that is not the usual Americanized takeout. The place has an old school feel and the venue is big enough for parties or large groups, which makes it great for any occasion. The food is consistently good and the flavors are on point. If you eat here often, you get to know the staff and they get to know you and your go to orders too. You will usually see plenty of Asian folks eating here because we know what we like and we know what is good. Prices are fair for what you get and for the portion size. Inflation is just a pain these days. Overall, I recommend ABC Seafood over any other spot in St Pete.

ABC has since relocated to 66th Street, and I haven't been yet, but I'm praying that the food is consistent in flavor. We went a couple months before they moved and it's always good. This time, we ordered a couple of different things and were not disappointed. We got the fried quail, salted fish fried rice, oysters, and mapo tofu. Everything was packed with flavor (yes, even the mapo tofu) and so dang delicious. We'll always support ABC, and will check back when we try the new location!

I can't believe I've never left a review for this place. Best Chinese food in St Pete. We've been coming here for years, since they were at their old location. This new location has a lot more room for seating. We always get the honey walnut shrimp and the eggplant with seasonal vegetables. Everything else has always been good too. Skip the cheap Chinese takeout places and come here for some authentic, tasty dishes.

We got ABC for takeout, and we ate everything soon after picking it up. The flavors were all there, and it satisfied our Chinese cravings, but it definitely would've been better to eat fresh at the restaurant. Take the calamari, for starters. It had a nice flavor, but the texture became soggy once it arrived home to us. However, this food is much better than ones from most Chinese restaurants and everything had a well balanced flavor. The meats were all well marinated, such as the peking duck. We ordered two types of fried rice. One was combination and one was salted fish. The rice was very bland, but the proteins had some flavor. The flat noodles were delicious, but I would've preferred more meat in the duck flat noodles. The beef flat noodles had plenty of meat, though. I'm not taking off points for this, though, because it's just preference, and I understand duck is much more expensive. Overall, I know that if I were eating this food at the actual restaurant, I would thoroughly enjoy it. Taking home food usually never reaches its full quality. My whole family thought this meal was convenient and better quality than most. Flavors were great.

Steamed oysters with garlic sauce

We came from Chicago to escape the cold winter. We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and so glad found this one on Yelp. The food is very authentic Cantonese food and is comparable to what we have in Chicago Chinatown. We had seafood and fish maw soup, steamed oysters with garlic sauce, and dungeon crab with ginger and scallions. If you are looking for authentic and unamericanized Chinese food, this is your place. The service is attentive and staff is very friendly.

Nasty general tso's chicken

Pros: soups. Seafood hot and sour soup was good. The wonton soup was really good. It is misleading, though, because on the website the Hong Kong style wonton soup shows it comes with egg noodles in the picture. It doesn't and i was disappointed. However, the broth is super flavorful. As for the entrees, I ordered beef chow fun and general Tso's chicken. The beef chow fun was nothing but an oily mess and the general tso's chicken was probably the worst I've ever had. Do not get it. Look at the picture. It doesn't even look like general tso's. It was more like a soggy sweet and sour/mae ploy sauce. Stick to the soups and seafood dishes.

ABC is now at the old Lucky Star's location. They open late which is great for family that works the later hours. We stopped by on our vacation and we enjoyed everything. My favorite is the seafood tofu dry pot. It's very cantonese like. All the dishes are flavorful and don't need any extra soy sauce. Beef chow fun has that smokey wok flavor that we all love. The sizzling beef is also unique and we haven't had anything like it before, definitely a must try. And the fried rice is very good because they do not stick together that's how you differentiate good and bad fried rice. The service is also really good. I enjoyed this family style dinner and glad we were able to find one while traveling.

The restaurant is located behind the German club on 66th Street, a second business in the German club parking lot! Apparently, the family that has his place is from Maine and they got a lot of success brewing beer. That's success led them to start the restaurant serving seafood from a family business in Maine. We started off with a bowl of New England clam chowder and a dozen oysters. To what are whistles we got a glass of their tap Chardonnay and a beer. My wife's Chardonnay was ridiculously good! But nothing could beat those oysters - sweet with a little bit of brine, and very fresh. For dinner we got a lobster roll - they come hot or cold, with the hot coming with melted butter. We also got the fried haddock roll.... Wow! Both were fantastic! I know we overdid it with dinner.... We even got an order of the whole belly clams. I didn't think anyone in Florida served those down here! Absolutely ridiculous . In short, we had fantastic dinner and terrific beverages. I really recommend you at least try to find the place - we almost didn't go in because of its awkward location and the fact that no cars were outside. We saw the place was open and decided to have a appetizer because the Yelp review was so strong, and I'm glad we did! I told the two people there they should park their cars nearby so patrons would see them..... Anyway, I'm going back again, but this time I'm bringing friends!

I chose 1/2 lb of shrimp free with purchase of a chef special combo. The Chef Special Combo I chose was 1/2 lb shrimp + mussels + sausage, all drenched in their signature hot sauce (the menu warns that their sauces are hotter than other establishments so I did not go with very hot like I usually would and I'm glad that I did). The combo also included miniature potatoes and 2 pieces of corn on the cob. I could not finish it. My friend ordered the scallops dinner in a mild sauce and he was very pleased. We also split an appetizer of calamari which was delicately breaded and fried just right (not rubbery). Their signature drinks were a Little pricey but they were tasty and had a kick to them. Our server was on the ball and did a fine job of taking care of us without interfering with our conversation or enjoyment of the meal. Altogether a great meal for approximately $45 per person including generous tip. My friend Gary reports that The bathrooms were clean and handicap friendly, with plenty of grab bars.

They had a fresh catch of grouper that day, so we decided to try the grouper nuggets. They're market price, but absolutely worth it. Even our friend preferred them over his fried fish. Just a heads-up: they use a nacho cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese, which some people may prefer to know ahead of time. Our friend from Massachusetts ordered the lobster sub (also market price) and said it was worth every penny. My husband and I split the grouper nuggets and the Philly cheesesteak. The bread is brought in from up north, and our server's recommendation did not disappoint. The sandwich was rich, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the onion rings. They use a beer batter, which wasn't our favorite, but that's more of a personal preference than a criticism. Overall, we'd definitely return if we're in the area again. The only downside was parking--$29.99 for two hours is pretty brutal. Thankfully, the food and atmosphere helped make up for it.

My family and I had such a great experience, and I'd easily give it a 9/10 for the food, service, and ambiance. The restaurant has windows throughout, so no matter where you're seated, you still get gorgeous views of the water. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure guests have a great experience. Another thing I appreciated was that the food is made fresh to order, and the seafood tasted exceptionally fresh. We started with the Kung Pao Calamari, and wow...I honestly could've eaten the entire plate myself! It was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and easily one of the best appetizers I've had in a while. The oysters appetizer- Good. They were fresh which is ALWAYS appreciated. I didnt like that the shells weren't rinsed, which led to alot of shell in my slurps and the actual oyster sizes ranged from normal to small. One was almost tiny. My main meal- Good. I had the special...a Blackened Hogfish stuffed with crab and scallops. The fish on it's own was ok, but the bites with the stuffing as the whole were good.
