I looked up local taxi services on yelp and found ABC. He answered the call right away and was willing to come to Belfast to take me to Bangor. A seemingly good taxi service that is unfortunately marred by an incredibly unprofessional and rude driver. Johnny was very accommodating in our initial calls and kindly agreed to pick me up at 4am to get to the airport. About 15 hours before pickup, a friend offered to drive me to the airport so I texted Johnny to inquire if it was too late to cancel, fully expecting and accepting that it was probably too late and that I would gladly take his cab ride anyway, as his small business must be supported. Instead, Johnny decided to lash out with sarcasm, costing him my business as well as the future business of the Maine-based organization I am here to work with, once they saw these screenshots. I would have happily taken this ride if he had been straightforward about the inconvenience of last minute cancellations, but unfortunately his attitude has lost him many supporters here in Maine. read more

Probably the rudest person I've ever spoken to over the phone when I called to book a taxi. Seems they only do prearranged, long distance rides. I suppose I'm happy I didn't have to travel with this man who very clearly didn't want my business. He couldn't get me off the phone fast enough and hung up when I tried to inquire about an alternate service (as I'm from out of town). based on other reviews, I'm not surprised. read more

A great, solid, and reliable solution for trips between Bangor Airport and Bar Harbor. I found this long-distance taxi service recommended by a high reputable hotel I was staying at, and after a brief but warm phone conversation with the owner, I was able to book a reservation one month out. He greeted at the airport with a sign (he even tracked our flight). The drivers were professional and responsible drivers, and they safely and smoothly navigated the quickest route to and from our destination. read more

August 2023. Wish I could give 0 stars. Johnny confirmed my taxi service to the airport on Thursday for a Sunday transfer. He no-showed this morning which has left us scrambling. As of this review it is 1 hour post promised pick up time and we are praying for a miracle from another cab service that we make our flight. Getting cabs in and around bar harbor is very difficult. Absolutely terrible service. We had a confirmed (!!) reservation after a flight to Bangor airport and it was on time (even ahead of schedule) and the cab never showed. The airport knew of this particular company and said it was common. Another taxi driver also said he was not surprised based on previous experiences. We could not find another cab to take us to our destination (too far at that time of night, hence why we needed a reservation ahead of time). Use literally any service other than this one. A horse drawn carriage would be more reliable. Just terrible. read more

I needed transportation between the Bangor Airport and Ellsworth at 11pm in the evening. I called that morning before and Jonny promptly answered. He took my information and was waiting for me in baggage claim upon my arrival. He is kind, courteous and seems to genuinely care about his customers. If I could give half a star I would. Called two weeks in advance, confirmed pickup to the airport IN WRITING. I checked in the day before my flight via text to no response, tried calling only to get a full mailbox. I followed up again the morning of. Still no response. I called once again and was left completely in the lurch trying to get to Bangor airport. No one showed up. Would not recommend, even to my worst enemy. read more

I would give him a zero star rating if possible. We were left stranded at the Bangor Airport AFTER confirming ABC could drive us to Bar Harbor a week earlier and 2 days prior. We were lucky that Joe from A & M was at the airport and drove us. Along the way, he ran into the owner of ABC and asked if he wanted to take us- Joe is a stand up guy and didn't want to be accused of stealing a fare- and the owner of ABC was rude, said no and said "he wasn't working today". Nice to know after not notifying us and leaving us stranded. We found out he does this constantly to tourists. Save yourself being stranded and call Joe at A&M Taxi- ABC will leave you at the airport with no explanation. read more

Very unprofessional. I had an employee who didn't have a vehicle and usually gets a taxi home from work. She called this "24/7" service, they hung up while they were on the phone and didn't answer the phone after that. (I had to ask one of the other manager to drive her home, which is not his responsibility) I support the fact that buissness has the right to provide service or deny service to whomever they choose.I would expect for more clean communication and more mature behavior. I left the company a voicemail asking to speak to the owner to address the issue and clarify the terms of there service. And that I was going to let the BBB know of the companies behavior if needed (Why they hung up a potential customer). The owner left me a voicemail in return clarify they were a "long trip" taxi service and take reservations. I thought this is unorthodox and maybe they shouldn't claim to provide a 24/7 service then. The voicemail continues to tell me to never call him again he addressed me as "moron" and told me have a nice day f***head. I understand the struggles of owning a buissness and it's not my place to tell a company what service to provids. I just wanted to discuss the matter further. I told him if I didn't hear back from him I would let the BBB (I did) know about his lack of service. Yet his voicemail provided a lot information on the mental health of this buissness owner. If a grown adult needs to call another grown adult names because he got his feelings hurt. I would hate to see what happens when he is having a bad day. I was hoping to have a civil conversation with the owner and turns out that was a bad idea. read more

When Delta canceled our flight, we were stuck in Bangor and needed a ride 3 and a half hours to Boston. ABC Taxi answered our call and was there to pick us up within 5 minutes. What we thought was going to be a long, awful ride ended up being extremely enjoyable. John was like our tour guide! He taught us a ton about Maine, told us about some crazy experiences, and overall had a great time. He turned an awful experience with our flights into a fun memory. After flying 5 hrs up from Ft Lauderdale I took ABC Taxi from Bangor to Calais (the Canadian border) only to be denied due to COVID as the rules for entry had changed that very day. The driver was 1 hr away (on the way back to Bangor) already by the time I got the news. I called him at 11:30 pm and he drove an hour back as not to leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere and brought me back to Bangor. I probably paid his rent for the month but the service was great. I would definitely recommend them. read more
