My friend Rob and I just got back from spending a month in Bulgaria, and wanted to indulge ourselves in some good steak. Rob did some research and found the Angus Steakhouse in Pilsen. Rob knows his steaks; I trust Rob; there was absolutely no hesitation going to this place, thusly.
If you are to take anything away from this review, it would be to make reservations in advance. We came to this place on a Tuesday night in July - typically the seasons in Europe would dictate how busy a particular city/town would be - and did not expect to run into any issues with reserved seating. As mentioned by the review below, the restaurant seating is actually downstairs. The seating was very limit, but it provided a cozy and homey feel. Immediately, we discovered that the restaurant was nearly booked out, but was lucky enough to reserve some seats for 2 hours later.
We ended up picking up a top shelf Cabernet Sauvignon and starting with steak tartar to be prepped by ourselves. The only way to describe the steak tartar is how one would feel if they ascended through space and time dimensional vortex - it was amazing.
For our main meal, we ordered two 600 gram ribeyes cooked for rare, to be accompanied by potatoes cooked in various ways. The steaks were glorious to say the least. In the end, we paid about 2500 koruna which is an unbeatable price for the entire meal we consumed.
