My family and I have visited Abiding Faith Lutheran Church a few times and I must say that this is a great place to hear the Word of God preached. It's true, as Fred J. points out, that in order to receive the sacraments, you must be a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). This is because at Abiding Faith, they take the sacraments seriously and believe that if you're going to take communion, you should probably have a common understanding of what is taking place. Closed communion is the practice of the wider Wisconsin Synod, not some strange practice within this particular parish and I'd encourage you to keep everything in perspective. You don't go to KFC demanding pizza and you shouldn't attend a WELS church expecting to take communion without being a member (or at least discussing it with the Pastor ahead of time). I'm not entirely sure what Fred J. was hoping to be able to do if he "gave money and agreed with everything they had to say." Everyone is welcome to attend worship, is granted the opportunity for confession and absolution of their sins, hear the Word of God preached faithfully, and even have a cup of coffee afterward (or is it before, I don't remember). All of this is free of charge, what more could you ask for? That being said, they will pass a plate to collect an offering from their members to support their ministry (to my knowledge, this is a pretty common practice within the church). As a guest, you are not obligated to give anything. The Pastor and his family are all wonderful individuals and I'm not entirely sure how someone would get the impression that they are unfriendly (though everyone is entitled to a bad day, after all, Jesus came for us sinners right?). He does have a large family and yet, he is very generous with his time (even to visitors like me). The members of this congregation are a tightly knit community of believers (which, admittedly can be intimidating) but are extremely welcoming to new faces. My wife and I were greeted by members at every turn and I definitely felt at home in this church. If you are looking for a place to grow in your personal relationship with Christ based on the inerrant Word of God, THIS is the place! The Pastor teaches us about God's Word USING God's word, and helps us learn how to use what we learn about God and His Word in our lives. Worship is a FAMILY experience. There is Sunday and weekday bible study,Sunday school, and many other opportunities to get involved in the church family and learn more about Jesus. My family and I became members of Abiding Faith in 2016. We LOVE the family friendly atmosphere. We LOVE that God's Word is explained in such a manner that even our 2 year old understands how much Jesus loves her. We LOVE that the atmosphere a "Come as you are where you are and learn about Jesus with us and grow in your walk with Him". It truly is a FAMILY. The facility is beautiful, especially the sanctuary. In the area behind the altar is a wall of windows looking into to trees with the cross at the center. Natural wood interior just makes you feel part of God's creation. The facility is clean. There is a fellowship hall, church nursery with several infant/toddler amenities including a TV streaming the service, just in case your little ones are having a hard time in the sanctuary. There is a full kitchen and several classrooms. It is handicap accessible. It has a nice men's restroom, women's restroom, and a large single stall restroom. It is a Lutheran Church, and as many other church bodies, it practices "Closed Communion"-meaning, you need to be in public, formal agreement with what the church teaches before participating in the sacrament of communion. Just as you wouldn't receive medication without knowing what it's for or what it does, you need to learn about what the sacrament of communion is and is not, and why you participate in it. There is a wonderful class, led by our pastor called Bible Information Class (BIC), that takes you through what the Bible teaches about this, so you can be more informed before participating in such a special, public and formal sacrament. read more

There is so much to say about this church and the family within it. When I first attended I wasn't sure what to expect, I had been to so many different churches and had never felt right. This may sound weird, how can you not feel right in a church? However it happened, until my very first Sunday here. Just walking in I instantly felt different, a wonderful different. It was a rush of a feeling that came over me and I knew it was because I finally found my home and family. I was finally well, right. I was instantly eager to submerge myself in the word and soon I realized that, that was what it was all about. Hearing the word, understanding the word and learning to live like a believer and, having a church family that is a support system in all of this. Pastor Koelpine, as much as I would love to say saved me, I can't because it would not be true only because He showed me the way to my true savior. For that I am not quite sure thank you is enough. Pastor Koelpine was called to be a light for another congregation sadly however, we are now blessed with Pastor Rogas who has shown me as long as the truth and the scripture is being preached it does not matter by who. (and yes he is super awesome too). I see bad reviews and I wonder if they walked into the same church I did 2 years ago and sat among the same family. If you feel lost or "not right" then you can stop looking and be rest assured that Abiding Faith Lutheran Church is where you need to be. I started attending Abiding Faith Lutheran Church when I was 15 years old and my (then) boyfriend invited me for a visit. I continued to attend when he joined the Marine Corps and went to boot camp. We were married there 16 years ago and moved from state to state because of the military and I can honestly say there is no place like coming home to this church after being away for 10 years. The people there are welcoming, the fellowship there I haven't been able to find elsewhere, and most of all you learn about God's word and His true teachings. I can honestly say that if you are looking for a church and a place to call home and DO NOT want to be judged by appearance, social stature, ethnicity, education, age, etc...then please come and check this church out. We visited this church a few years back and decided to call it home, leaving the "mega church whirlwind" behind us. We liked it so much that we drive 45 minutes each Sunday, additional trips for special events, to attend, and we pass many churches along the route. They teach sound biblical theology that is applied to today's world. They do not alter God's word to comply with today's world. Weekly bible studies in a casual setting are open for those who wish to attend. This church is very welcoming to all walks of life. The church body and church council is comprised with all different walks of life. The members not only talk the Christian faith, they walk the Christian Faith through community outreach and helping those in need. This church has substance, whereas other churches have fluff. They even have an accredited child educator leading a free program called Mornings with Mommy! We highly recommend this church for those hungry to hear God's word! read more

I was invited to attend Abiding Faith by a girl that I was dating about two years ago. I was skeptical because of negative experiences with churches I had attended as a child. But I was welcomed with warmth and kindness, I met with the Pastor who taught me what the beliefs of the church were and explained them using scripture. My eyes were opened to the Lord again. Long story short, I have now been a member of the congregation for over a year. What about that girl that I was dating? She is now my wife, we were married at this church last year. Iam NOT worthy of membership of this church do to being a sinner. My daughter and her father are bother members, I sought counseling with the previous Pastor for help with issues with my daughter's father to later find out the Pastor HIMSELF attending the party on church property where under age drinking was going on. In this past yr my relationship with my daughter has completely deteriorated. So in closing if you dont mind Lying, or being lied to, dodging responsibly for ones own choices, being slandered , This is the church for you. However if you have Morals, believe in self accountability ,and HONESTY you would do well to seek a House of God, for this IS a Country Club with a Steeple on it. read more

I have been attending Abiding Faith Lutheran Church for 17 years. As a WELS Lutheran Church we strictly adhere to what the Bible says and teaches. We are a very friendly and welcoming congregation. We have had three Pastors since I have been here, all are very good and the Sermons are wonderful Bible centered and interesting. We also have great bible study classes. A fantastic classic church. Incorporation of modern day issues paralleled to biblical text done masterfully. With older hymns a more respected and traditional experience is attained. Everyone in the church made an effort to introduce themselves to me and were nothing but kind and courteous. Would definitely recommend as it an amazing church that will love many and take you in as family. read more

So blessed to go to a church that teaches about my savior Jesus who loves me so much that he has saved me from my wretched sinful self and gives me eternal life in heaven.
