I am all for public service. I truly adore reading and support the idea of promoting reading…read morethrough a system of points assigned per books/words written. However, it saddens me to have to only assign 3 stars to this location. First and foremost, i do realize most younger readers prefer sitting on floors to read anyways, but it would help if there were more chairs and tables available. Secondly, the accessibility to working computer stations is limited to. The choice of books is tailored around the space allotted. But, a good swapping system allows a book to be delivered if available at any other location within Abilene public libraries. I may sound a bit harsh, but if your goal is to attract younger readers, the path is still long, perilous and hard to follow. But i am confident in your abilities to improve and draw every single reader (young or otherwise). After all, words are what makes the worls go round and round.

There is also a clinic inside for city employees. That gets used a lot. As a city employee, this is where I get my free flu shot. I know you don't want me getting sick and taking off. OR do you? It's quaint and cute and full of personality. Plus it's the Story Book Capital of America. There is plenty to see and do if you like art and sculpture and history. The roads do stink and really need and update. Fresh paint. Cuz I can't tell where the lanes separate, makes me drive like a drunk person. Unsure where I supposed to be centered at. The Mall isn't huge but it isn't full of empty spaces. And gets plenty of traffic. The parking is a little bit of a nightmare. And the people drive like crazy humans. You can tell there is a big difference between this city and Houston…read more If you've been to Beaumont or maybe Nederland Texas then you pretty much have a parallel on what you might experience here but maybe a decade better in local flavor. One thing I can say the difference between here and Houston is I thought it was a fluke but pretty much everybody that passes in front of you has the courtesy to say it's use me or pardon me compared to being a Houston we're pretty much nobody knows what that phrase is. It is kind of a cozy but maybe a confusing place if you come from a big town because the feeders for example both sides have two way driving as compared to Houston there is only one way to go depending on which side of the freeway you are at on the feeder but that is because there is a massive amount of traffic in Houston compared to here. I like the setup better here and plus I've never seen any rush hour traffic.

Amazing campus. My…read moredaughter decided on ACU to pursue her studies in Kinesiology and perhaps later work in sports medicine. So, the family piled into the car and drove up from Houston to visit Abilene and the university. All I can offer is what I saw from the tour and that's "wow!" This is a faith oriented campus for sure, we knew that and it was alone a good cause to make this the place to send our most treasured. Yet, it is underscored with a modern campus with technically advanced facilities. Everywhere you go on campus you will find high art in technology, religion and social interaction. I know I should go on, but my words will not do this campus the justice it needs. We visited UT, TT; but my daughter was firm in wanting to go to ACU. After making the visit to Abilene I learned that my daughter had matured and was making wiser decisions than I ever made at her age.
