I like the feel of it, tucked underneath the houses on Richmond Terrace, and it's really well stocked and reliable, with extra things like a full pick 'n' mix stand! It's very friendly and helpful, and it's got one of those thoroughly local noticeboards out in front displaying ads for flats, community groups, and other neighbourhood bits and bobs. I recommend that students buying tins of beans etc at the Student Union shop down the road come here to The 10 O'Clock Shop instead; it's much friendlier and you have a better sense of being connected with other non-student people living in Clifton.

This shop is packed full of bits & pieces it's not hard to see why they have done so well in the heart of the student community. They even sell children's footballs. Although they had sold out of my favourite newspaper today at lunchtime! The mystery of why it is called the ten o'clock shop rages on.

This shop does lean a little toward the more fantasy side of things, at time cringingly similar to a Games Workshop in Glastonbury. That aside there are some really nice bits of jewellery and ornaments here, as well as some very strong crystals sourced both locally and from land afar. There is a good range of make up too which matches the reasonable prices of the dress-up accessories. What I particularly like about this store is the vintage clothing. Catering for both men and women, there is a good range of 50s through to 80s stock in good condition and at reasonable prices - dresses are around £15. I particularly liked the bargain bin in front of the counter where everything was £5. There were a few dresses, a handbag and some retro men's shirts - all of which I had to dig around for but that's half the fun isn't it? Although I came away empty handed I would definitely come back here for a vintage or fancy dress fix.

They have a lot of useful party/festival clobber in Naff, including chest wigs...perfect for those Magnum PI parties (?). I have friends who actually buy their sunglasses from this shop; they say they prefer them to the proper ones. So some of the stock is actually pretty good quality and not the tacky, cheaply made plastic costume items you usually find. You can spend one minute in this shop and find some really fun stuff, things you didn't even know you need to be wearing on your next night out.

I have never met a friendly saturday morning worker in my life, it was great to be met with a big beaming smile. Even though I couldn't find what I was after (some self adhesive wall hooks, stron enough to hold a coat - any ideas anyone?) I had a great experience in this 'find pretty much anything you are after' store! From pet accessories to allen key sets and wierd and wonderfull collection of goods.
