I came in with muscle tightness stemming from my hyper-mobility and bad posture and I left feeling like I had a new body. Dawn heard my concerns and addressed them by confirming where my muscle tightness was and focusing on those areas with a mix of heavy and light massage. There was one point where I had extreme tightness in my upper back and Dawn massaged some muscle up there and I felt it loosen the entire way down to my butt; I have never experienced a relief/release like that. I can honestly say that this massage experience changed my life as I will be seeking out that same relief from anything and everything. Okay I almost don't want to share this because then I'm not gonna be able to get an appointment when they get busier. I had a massage by Ty, which I booked on a whim and it was fabulous! I told him where my areas of discomfort were and he focused on them and I left feeling much improved and with my next appointment already scheduled. I haven't tried many local places yet, and while I'll try other places I can tell that I'll be regularly scheduling with Ty. Price: Very reasonable for a one hour massage, I think charging 50% up front is a little strange, I've had many many massages in many states and have never had to guarantee 50% to book. However when that's only about $40 it's fine I guess but you should know that. Ambiance: It not much relative to other more bougie spas, I think they could make it a more peaceful serene place to get a massage or wax, but that being said, I find that a minor criticism and it would never stop me from going. Told Devaney where my main problem area was, and not only was she able to work it out, but she worked out all of the areas related to it. She worked out problem areas I didn't even know I had. Went in with severe lower back pain, and came out completely pain free. She was very attentive and then right after my 1 hour massage, had a 1 hour facial with Karen. My facial focused on my breakout prone skin and we worked on something that hopefully will help. I'd give 0 if I could, purely for the way the owner manages this business. Absolutely awful customer service. Very rude, condescending, and disrespectful. Honestly so bad I would pay double to her competitor. She will verbally attack you over text message or voicemail but will not speak to you personally. When I called to ask to speak with her personally, she had an employee speak with me and then never called me back. The owner is completely unreasonable and cannot fathom that anyone could possibly have a legitimate reason why they cannot make an appointment they had put 1/2 the money down for. She also considers it skipping the first appointment when it is rescheduled for a different time. As someone who has been here multiple times, having been on time and very generous with tips, I will not be wasting anymore money at this establishment and I suggest you find somewhere else to go as well, especially if you may have an emergency that will restrict you from going to an appointment. read more

Wow, wow, wow!! Karen is very attentive when it comes to waxing! I really appreciate and love that she requires her customers to take off their shoes and then provides clean comfy slipper to walk around the spa with. How thoughtful and sanitary is that?! Karen makes sure that everything is clean and sanitize before and after a wax session. She also carries a large inventory of skin care products, particularly the brand, Dermalogica. I am surprised no one has reviewed this place on Yelp. I have had the following done: eyebrow wax, full arm wax (Bad genes :| ), half leg wax, Brazilian, spray tan test and a facial (with chemical peel). Their new location is in a more viewable (As far as they're on a road with more traffic that can see their sign on the plaza's sign. They are still a tucked away between other stores.) area in Gateway Plaza. Unfortunately since they are near two restaurants and various other stores parking is a little bad. There is more than enough parking spaces in the plaza, but you'll have to park a little bit away from the place. The place is clean and nicely decorated. They change out their bed sheets after each use and wash their equipment. I have not witnessed any bad practices. The staff is great. They're very friendly and most of them are fairly experienced in their job areas. They often have discounts for having services accomplished by new hires if you're up for being a test subject. I've only had some minor issues with their services where I probably could have just told them. Getting my eyebrows waxed was kind of a hit and miss. They were not messing up horribly or anything like that. I am not sure if I was giving the wrong or confusing directions, but they usually weren't shaped how I wanted them. I only had one instance where it was done perfectly. I suggest bringing a picture or drawing if you get your eyebrows waxed and have a specific shape you want. For my arms I had no issue until they started waxing with the hair direction or sideways to it. It makes my hair grow back faster. Also the new hire puts too much oil on my skin after she finishes waxing, but she might have fixed that issue by now. All other services I've had were great, no issues I can think of. read more

I went to this spa today for the first time. When we first arrived at the door, the building was locked with no note on the door. We pulled on the door and looked through the glass. Someone came to the door and let us in after a few minutes. When it was time for our massage therapists to come out and get us, my friend's therapist is the one who spoke. It wasn't the typical professional introduction like any that I've had at any other massage place I've been to in the past. I was with a friend in somewhat of the same room, but there was a partition. The man who massaged her had his music up very loudly through his earbuds, making the mood a lot less relaxing. The woman who massaged me was very good as a massage therapist, but the other aspects of the massage were a little off and as we were paying there was an issue with giving us the advertised website fall special. read more

I have to write another review for this place. I had been suffering with sciatic pain for MONTHS that originates in my hip area and goes down my leg. After a 90-minute session with Myasia (so sorry if I botched the spelling), the pain was COMPLETELY GONE. I have never had a therapist spend so much time on the area that needed it the most, (probably because it's the hip/glute area) but she did and it was incredible. It has been well over a month and it still feels so much better than it did. Thank you SO MUCH for the pain relief. It has made a huge difference in my everyday life. read more

I wanted to get in some much needed rest and relaxation before returning to the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles so I was recommended to go to "About The Body" to get a massage...and well...the rest is history... Let's just say, they saw me for about 4 out of the 9 days I was there! hahaha Friendly staff...The owner was super sweet and was the one who gave me the awesome massages. Prices were affordable. They also had a nice discount if you booked your next session at the end of the one you just completed...which I did...about 3 times! haha My trip definitely wouldn't have been the same without them.
