Grant was a great driver. He was punctual both picking us up from home for our airport transfer and picking us up from the airport for our return home. (They do a good job of monitoring flight status, I can attest to this as our flight was delayed). On the way home we encountered a vehicle without its lights on and with its doors wide open in the middle of the not well lit two northbound lanes of highway 99 a little before midnight. Grant saw the vehicle, drove around it, and avoided a collision! Thank you!!! On to the reason for 4 stars. First, the vehicle itself is an older model that shows some signs of its age. Next, while they do offer bottled water, years ago when I hired a limo for airport transfers that company also offered sparkling wine. (I'm not unhappy about it, but it does set the bar just a little bit higher...). Keep in mind, the rates charged by About Time are very competitive, so I'm not complaining. We urge you to stay away from this company. They sold to new owners, who flipped it and have now sold the company yet again. They completely forgot about a scheduled pick up and have been unresponsive and unaccountable for the issue. We have called, emailed and texted several times with no response. Terrible! read more

Hmmm...since you can't read my mind...I'm giving them a 2.5 rating! How do I do this - I want to rate this on my experience with them as a business and my experience on the day of our wine trip to Amador. I guess I will do just that. Company: Lacking all types of business professionalism. I understand first hand, that if you advertise on Living Social, you aren't making a huge profit, rather trying to attract new customers to your business. That being said, whoever my friend was dealing with, in regards to setting up our trip and using our LS discount, was lacking tact. She wanted to make sure there weren't any hidden charges, as have been in the news lately. Said person wrote back that we had to pay tax (okay), demanded 20% gratuity, and gas funds (never heard of this before). The last time I checked, and the four or so other wine tours I participated in, we tip according to the service. Yes, they do mention that generally its 20%, but no one has ever outright demanded their gratuity. If you have faith in your employees, you should let their work do the talking. Also, build gas into your pricing model, come on, Business 101! That being said - I already had a bad taste in my mouth for this company. With a few weeks to let this stew, I was already slightly hostile, in my mind of course. Day of Trip: Its 12PM, we see no sign of our limo. We made a call and the person working there said, "Isn't your appointment at 1PM?" Um no, there is email documentation stating 12PM sharp, buddy. Well, they got their act together and were there, albeit 15 minutes late. I feel like we got played a bit. Read on for details! Phil was our driver, who I also noticed via Yelp (just right now) is also the manager. Is this a one man show, kind of interesting. So, sweetly, in the limo was a bottle of Convergence Winery's Mr. Bubbles, sparkling wine. He said we'd be stopping there eventually, which was okay because we all actually really enjoyed this beverage :) So once we got to Convergence, he promptly took my friend aside and asked her for the tax/tip/gas money. Right then and there. He didn't have the decency to ask when we arrived home, like any professional would. He took it before we even stepped foot in our first winery. How offensive... Let's just say we wine tasted of the beaten path. I'm actually okay with this, because I've stopped at all the recognizable ones before. After yelping, it looks like he takes the same path every time. Our group really loves the Almond Champagne from somewhere out here and we asked him if we could go there. He was adamant that it was out of the way, we needed a reservation, and they charged a fee. There was no consideration of even going there, which was slightly rude. Maybe my standards are too high, but I thought it was very unprofessional of Phil to pick up his membership allotment at SeraFina winery when we were there. I understand its convenient, but I just think its rude to do personal errands while we are spending our money for his service. Maybe I'm over sensitive on this matter, but whatevs. This is also the first time I've only been to 3 wineries on a four hour wine tour. I think that Phil should have kept us on a better schedule so we could visit four wineries. Overall, being surrounded by 8 of your closest girls makes ANY situation better. Also, an abundance of snacks and calories doesn't hurt either. I truly appreciate supporting the local wineries and visiting every once in awhile, it just doesn't sit well with me when I don't feel like your business is being professional or honest. I wanted to rent a limo as a bachelor party gift for a friend. About Time Limousines was the first call I made that did not take me to an automated system. Larry answered the phone and was polite and to the point. I wrote down his price and then proceeded to call other companies for the next hour as I had never rented a limo before and didn't know what price point to expect. After about a dozen calls Larry's price still hadn't been beat, so I gave him a call back and booked my reservation. Larry's positive attitude about not worrying about the details and just having a good time made me feel very comfortable about the transaction. There were NO hidden fees or extra costs associated. His price included the service, tax, and tip. Our driver was Chris and he showed up right on time. He was driving Blanca, an eight passenger white limo. Chris was very professional and charismatic. He gave us a quick rundown of the controls and rules in the limo and we were quickly on our way. Once we got to our venue we even invited Chris to sit with us because he was such an easy going and friendly guy, we really felt like he was a part of our group. When it was time to leave we weren't ready yet, so Chris told us pricing for an extra hour which was very reasonable so we decided to take it. I can't say anything about this company's service because my fiance and I didn't end up using them after they got a $100 non-refundable deposit from us and then reneged on the services they promised to offer. My fiance and I wanted to book a limo for the entire night to take multiple trips shuttling our guest to our wedding venue and back to the hotel at the end of the night. We relayed this to the person on the phone (can't remember his name) and he gave us a quote. Only after we gave him a $100 non-refundable deposit did this man claim we misunderstood what services we would be getting and said we could only take one trip in the limo because it was prom season and he would need it. He suggested we rent a bus at $25 a head to get the guests back to the hotel at the end of the night. It would have cost about $3,000 and the guests would not be able to leave at their leisure but rather wait until the bus was full. For less than half that we found a limo company near our home in Modesto that made the 80 mile trek up to Sacramento and gave us a Hummer limousine for the entire night for less than half the price. If you go with About Time Limousines I would recommend getting everything in writing before giving them any money. Lesson learned on my part. read more

The limo, service, and driver were great. Just watch out for the hidden fees. I purchased a four hour limo ride for our wedding day through living social. We were picked up early so we could take pics around town, etc. Everything went smooth, ride was nice. We proceeded on with our wedding, was picked up at the church and then driven to the reception. All together, we traveled a total of less than 20 miles. Upon dropping us off at the reception, I was handed a bill that was not covered in the living social. Another $70 or so. I didn't have cash on my, so thank goodness my best man didn't blow all of his cash at the bachelor party. Sneaky sneaky, nothing about this extra fee was mentioned in the original agreement. But everything else went as smooth as expected and the driver was great. read more

I had a "pretty good" experience with About Time Limousines. Our driver was Larry. He was very nice, punctual, and knowledgeable. He also bagged and labeled all of our purchases. He took us to some of the wineries that I think they take most everyone else too. I'm not sure if they get kickbacks from these wineries or not. I'm guessing yes. We went to Convergence which was good and he recommended Tanis which was outstanding - our favorite winery of the day! So far so good....then we visited a few of my picks before visiting the last of Larry's recommended wineries - Dry Town (which we called Fly Town due to the ungodly stench and all the flies in the winery) and Terafina. Both were subpar - to say the least. Though Terafina had a beautiful view their wines were poorly balanced and I couldn't bring myself to buy a single bottle there. Same with Dry/Fly town. Couldn't taste through my nausea...the tasting room literally smelled like dog crap. gag. We didn't have any hidden fees as this limo was purchased through a charity auction. We each tipped Larry $20 for a total of $160. We were not asked to pay tax or gas as that was apparently included in our winning bid. I would recommend using this service and would use them again myself. I would just be a little more firm with them on which wineries I visited and not be terribly eager to take their advice on where to go. read more

I have used this company twice before so I was surprised and terribly disappointed in this experience. I have since tried to reach the owner to discuss my concerns and haven't yet received a return call. I rented the SUV limo for my birthday on 8/4/18 to go wine tasting in Amador County which is just over an hour drive from my house in Roseville, Ca. The outside temperature was about 100 degrees that day (literally). Once we started our trip off, it seemed there might be an issue with the air conditioning. We enlisted the help of the driver, I think her name was Laurie. She explained she didn't know how to use the vehicle, because it was her first time driving it. She pressed some buttons and ultimately gave up in trying to resolve the problem. As you can imagine, this was concerning. We continued to complain of exhausting conditions throughout our trip, but the air conditioning was clearly broken. Now we have 14 adults who have been wine tasting, driving home in what felt to be 200 degrees in the back of the limo. I am thankful that no one got ill or passed out during what felt like forever in trying to get home. I paid for 8 hours of time and tipped on 8 hours of time but ended up cutting the trip short by an hour just to get out of the heat. The limo driver did not help the situation. She did not seem familiar with the limo or comfortable driving it. She couldn't answer any questions as it related to the area we were wine tasting or the limo. I'm pretty sure she didn't even wish me a happy birthday nor did she consistently offer any kind of hospitality or cheer to us. This was a miserable experience and completely ruined the mood of my birthday. Based on this experience, I will not be going back. My advice. Make sure you can inspect the vehicle before you spend your money with this company - especially since the owner won't return your call when you say you'd like to discuss some concerns. I booked About Time Limousines to serve as a shuttle during my wedding in June. We were using the limo to transpor three groups of guests from downtown Sacramento to the Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove. The driver, Lisa, called me prior to pick-up as a courtesy to go over any details and ensure that I understood what the four hours of service would entail.bLisa was very pleasant and transported all the groups to the Grand Island Mansion in a timely manner. The dock for the one star is that the gentleman I booked the limo with indicated that the limo could hold ten passengers. When the limo arrived, I was told by the driver that the limo could only hold eight passengers. Luckily, we only had eight people at a time to transport, but I wish the man I booked with was honest up-front. If I had ten passengers and had to turn two away, I would have been in a pickle to figure out how to transport the other two to my wedding. If I could leave zero stars, I would. We booked a limo for our wedding party to take us to the reception from the ceremony. First of all, the limo was late. Finally when we were inside the limo, the driver couldn't figure out how to turn the radio on or the air conditioner. After trying to turn both on, she left us to figure it out. We got the radio on, but the air conditioner was blowing warm air, and two of the vents didn't work. One window we were able to roll down (and mess up the bride's hair) and the other one didn't work. It was high 80s outside, and was cooler than inside the limo. Each of us in the party of 15 got out of the limo drenched in sweat, our dresses were visibly wet and wrinkled, our makeup was smearing off and our hair was soaked. We all forgot about how beautiful my sister's ceremony was because of how miserable we were. After a few miles we asked the driver to take us straight to the reception, we were supposed to have a lovely 45 minute drive. We are so greatly disappointed with how awful the experience was. read more

I wish I had a better review to write. Everything started off great, Larry made reservations at all wineries for the day. Had about 14 friends together for my 40th birthday. On the way to the first winery (about 20 mins into the limo ride) smoke started pouring out of the hood of the limo. Pulled over and the driver was on the phone trying to figure out what to do. One of our friends happens to be a mechanic and decided to look under the hood where he found a broken hose. He was actually able to repair it on the side of the road with the help of a passing by car who happened to have some tools... delayed about 1 hour but made it to our first destination eventually. I was told by the driver that Larry said we could have the limo as long as we wanted for the day which was a nice gesture. However, because of the delay two of the places we wanted to visit were closed by the time we would have gotten to them. We did keep the limo about an extra hour, but because of kids and other responsibilities, most in the limo had to get home. I was expecting a call from the owner, at least with an apology or something, but nothing. He then charged the wrong credit card for the balance, no discount offered for our trouble or anything. When I emailed him to ask, he said because he gave us the limo for the extra time, that should be a wash. He did fix the credit card issue eventually. Overall, I was hoping for something to make up for the issues. If my friend had not fixed the hose, a tow would have had to be sent, and my entire day rescheduled. Larry saved a lot of money in the long run because of this and I would have hoped as a business owner he would have tried a little harder to make things right. The limo itself was also very dated, the radio did not work, and the taped on LED lights were falling off. The privacy window was also broken. Not a great experience. Gratuity is also not optional, it is added in to the final total no matter what, so keep an eye on that. read more

We used About Time Limos for our wedding at Scribner Bend Vineyards and were very happy with their service. Reasons: 1. Working with Larry was easy -- we explained what we needed (limo for the bridal party, shuttles for guests), and he created a plan that was within our budget. He was easy to contact for questions, too. We also touched base beforehand to finalize details, which put my mind at ease. 2. The shuttle drivers were great -- they contacted me beforehand to touch base and check on any last minute details. 3. The drivers were punctual -- very important when transporting guests to a wedding! 4. Limos were spacious and comfortable. When planning a wedding, we learned that you want to use vendors that are trustworthy and experienced -- it makes the planning process, and the actual wedding day, much easier. They were flexible as well - last minute we need them to shuttle the bridal party to and from the hotel to Capital Park for wedding photos before the ceremony.
