I was weary of going with safe lite just because I wanted OEM glass. I looked around and found this reputable glass shop. Carrie the receptionist is amazing. She always follows up and was able to get the exact glass I wanted. They worked with the insurance and I did not have to pay a single dollar. Matt, who was the technician who repaired my glass is probably the nicest glass technician I have met. He came out and reviewed the damages. Also did a throw evaluation of the condition of the car. This shows that they pay attention to detail. I recently took my car out after two days of it sitting in the garage to make sure that the glue had set even though it's likely not necessary. The glass itself looks brand new and the workmanship without any damage. I don't think you can ask for more. These guys have my business in the future if I ever have a window chip or need a window replacement.

When I moved to Ohio, while I was putting furniture in my new place and putting things in order I…read morehad a bit of an accident. I dropped one of the glass shelves I had and shattered it. Upsetting! So I decided to look around to see how I can get it replaced. Moreover, like with all moves, you eventually find unforeseen problems with the house. My mother's bedroom had a triple pane glass for her window that had mold growing within the glass panes... large noticeable mold growth. Mold is dangerous so I also had to look at how to replace that. I tried with a different glass company in Fort Wayne but they weren't all that interested. I called Van Wert Glass and within days they came to my house. They inspected the window and said that the window hadn't been properly sealed and caused that growth. The window pane needed to be replaced. They took the measurements to create a new one. They also took the measurements of the shattered glass shelf as well. We also considered having the sliding glass doors to the two showers in our house replaced as well. I wanted to change the doors to ones that close by pulling/pushing not sliding as that is my preference. They took measurements and contacted manufactures and did research but determined that it would need me to redo the shower in its entirety which is not something I have the budget for at this time. After a few weeks they had the items ready and came to install them. I have to say it was a pleasure working with the people from Van Wert glass. They are friendly, hand working and honest. If I need glass work done again, I will definitely use them!

We were then told that someone would call us to reschedule. No one called. When we called the office to reschedule they made an appointment for us and sent us a quote that was twice as much as the original. After having a scheduling conflict, I made a new appointment for a sooner date. The quote I got was still almost twice as much and the technician never called to tell me they would be late. My appointment was between 12-5 and they arrived at 6. I waited around an extra hour after my workday was over. I feel a discount should have been given for my troubles. The technician was extremely nice but every customer service representative I have dealt with has been nothing but rude. One even tripled my quote and told me there wasn't enough information for her to send out a technician even though a technician had already been out 3 day prior. My family has used safelite before and been very happy, however we are very disappointed with our service this time as well as the major differences in quotes for the replacement.
