As new and first time homeowners, my wife and I quickly realized that there were more to homeownership than making the mortgage payments. We've had to remodel and bring the house up to date, working on the house ourselves and hiring professionals for things we couldn't/wouldn't do. Contracting out is always hit or miss; you don't know if they're going to do the job as you expect or if they will be uncomfortable to be around. Working with Above The Rest was the single best experience we've had so far.
Tree work was definitely something that was not on our list but fairly quickly we learned that our brand new roof was in danger from massive trees belonging to our neighbors. We had one of their business cards left on our door and decided to call them to get an estimate. By this time, we had already received estimates from the companies our neighbors had been using for years; however, we knew they probably wouldn't be insured or licensed and the work we needed done was too risky being that one of the trees was over 100ft tall and right above our bedroom.
I received a call back from Brent who quickly took it upon himself to go to my house and take a look around. After being there, he called me to let me know he would need his supervisor, Andrew, to come take a look as well. What I liked the most about this team is that they both came over, looked around and told me exactly what needed to be done and how they would do it in order to best protect my home. Other companies would come and ask us what we wanted done, where we wanted the cuts made, and all these questions as if I were the expert. Not Brent and Andrew, they guided me through it all and gave me a very fair quote considering all the work that was ahead.
The day scheduled, the crew arrived on time and ready to work. The most inspiring thing to watch is how each crew member had a task and they jumped right on it. There was not one person looking around or waiting around; each person had a job to do and not one second was wasted. Each person on the team was extremely respectful, pleasant to talk to, and professional. When I say those things, I don't mean that they met those check boxes to a minimum; I mean, they surpassed any expectations you may have. Everyone I talked to was very friendly, positive attitudes, and actually engaged in conversation with me.
Besides a beehive in one of the trees, everything went smoothly. They did have to stop work for the day because of the bees until they were removed but they said they would continue the next day. I managed to speak to Jeff, the owner, and he too was very professional and pleasant to talk to. He walked me through the next steps and what the expectations would be moving forward. Part of me thought they may just skip after that day and not come back to finish...part of me trusted them based on the exceedingly high level of professionalism. And true to their word, they did come back and finished all the work they promised to do and even helped my neighbors some.
After all the work was finished, they all cleaned up, put back the piece of fence they had to remove (you couldn't tell it had been removed), and left absolutely everything just like it was when they got there. I am still in awe as to how professional and experienced each member of this company is. The climber made it look so easy to get so high up there and start swinging down those large pieces. The crew at the bottom made it look as if those logs were not heavy at all and effortlessly brought them down to safety and away from our roof. Brent maintained a clear and consistent line of communication with me which kept me at ease knowing everything that was going on as it was going on.
All in all, Brent, Andrew, Jeff, and all the other guys (sorry I didn't get everyone's name) are a force to be reckoned with for all your tree services needs. I cannot recommend them enough. If you, like me, are someone who not only focuses on the skills necessary for a job but also on the level of customer service, this is a company that will exceed both. My wife and I are already looking to have them resod our lawn soon. We know we have found the company and crew that will from here on out be the ones to handle any tree service related services on our property and will be recommending them to all of our neighbors, family, friends and any one we know.
