I was only in the city for a couple days and my friend and I decided on a whim to get new tattoos. I'm usually very particular when choosing an artist to work with, but the design I wanted was small and simple, so we just did a quick search for shops with good reviews that take walk-ins. Abraxas happened to be nearby, so we went for it and I can't believe how we lucked out. My immediate impression upon entering was that this place seemed too upscale to take walk-ins and more like the kind of place where you have to schedule appointments weeks in advance. I was worried we'd be turned away, but we were helped immediately and only had to wait ~30 mins for one of the artists to be available. The tattooist was a native English speaker, which was fortunate for us since my French is extremely rusty and my friend doesn't speak a lick (but all of the staff I talked to spoke English, at the very least proficiently, so we would've been good either way). I had a specific image I wanted and it only took him one minute to prepare the transfer and three minutes more to do the tattoo. My friend had only a vague idea of what she wanted and they were able to work together to come up with something beautiful in no time at all. As far as pricing, my perspective is a bit skewed (since I'm from nyc, where it'll run you one arm to tattoo the other), but I believe the flat fee for under an hour was 100€. All in all, we had a great experience at Abraxas and are both in love with our tattoos. If I happen to be itching for another the next time I'm in town, I know exactly where I'm going! read more

I would avoid this place for a tattoo if you can. Wife and I came to get matching tattoos on our leg. Front desk people were kind and inviting; only reason why it is 2 stars and not 1. Tattoos are done downstairs. Sign says € 80 minimum for all tattoos. Prices range from 100-200 per hour. Our tattoo was a simple design that took 10 minutes to do. Both of our tattoos will be added to show the work. To our surprise the bill came out to € 120 Euro each. Not only were we overcharged but the actual tattoo is spotty at best. I don't even know where to begin! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I was visiting Paris from Los Angeles & wanted to get my first tattoo on my first trip to France. I originally dealt with another tattoo parlor - Dragon Tattoo - which was one of THE WORST experiences I've EVER had! Luckily, I found Abraxas & Victor! I explained what I wanted over the phone & he said he could fit me in at 3pm the next day...Sunday! I was thrilled because we were leaving on Tuesday! Because we were near the shop, we walked over there to show them what I wanted. Victor couldn't have been more helpful. He made the appointment in the computer & even introduced me to Mika, who would be doing my tattoo the next day. When I showed him what I wanted done on my wrist, he explained that if he did it the way I was showing him over time, it would turn into a black blob. He suggested that we flip it & do it lengthwise. It would make the tattoo much bigger than I had originally planned, but I was committed to getting the tattoo & I trusted him. The next day I showed up & Mika had the sketch ready to go. He set up the equipment & brought me back. The room was sterile, clean & safe. They had great music playing & Mika made me feel REALLY comfortable knowing this was my first tattoo. He started & I barely felt a thing! It took about 30 min & I couldn't be happier with the results! My experience with Abraxas was nothing short of amazing. I got an appointment very quickly by using the get an appointment button on yelp, they paired me with a tattoo artist who spoke English, and this tattoo shop was probably the cleanest tattoo shop I've ever been in. My artist wore a mask over his face (maybe for the beard?), everyone washed their hands before starting (including people getting tattooed), and it looked sterile. David did my tattoo, and he did an amazing job. I absolutely love my it. I wanted a souvenir from my visit to Paris but didn't want the usual eiffel tower tat. Another artist showed me her page of Paris themed drawings, and I picked a croissant. This is probably my absolute favorite tattoo I have so far (and I have many), because David just did an amazing job. HIGHLY recommend this establishment. I have many tattoos and have been to plenty of shops over the years in many countries, and this is hands down the nicest and most cleanly shop I have ever seen. The staff was friendly, and while the person who greeted me did not speak much English, he was very kind about my poor French. The shop has a €120 minimum, but I think it is a fair price considering the obvious cost of keeping shop in the area. I got a reasonably sized piece for the minimum amount and the art was drawn custom. My artist, Jerem, was very helpful and carefully listened to what I wanted. He asked questions as he drew to make sure I liked the design and showed me a few options. He had a light hand and the entire process went smoothly. I love my tattoo and I will definitely be back to see Jerem on my next trip to Paris. And people, tip your artists. He was shocked that I tipped at the end of my session and said that people do not usually tip. The service that he provided was more than worth what I paid and good artists deserve to be compensated. read more

Unfortunately, I live in the United States so I had asked to get my money back so that I can fix it here. They took forever to reply and would constantly tell me to come back for a touch up after I told them I live in the United States! Decided to get a last minute piercing and no appointment was needed for this parlor. Their piercer was super professional in terms of the hygienic process for the piercing and was extremely sweet and responsive to any types of questions from his customers. They also have a wide range of high quality body jewelry in display at their shop and offer a huge variety of body piercings. Although, their prices were quite high (70€ for an industrial), it was worth it for the experience and their professional quality (and they also offer a great quality after-care piercing kit)! Extremely reliable piercer! Update: their piercing process seems reliable but in the long term I really don't think it was worth it. My friend's nose piercing fell off the next day and 3 months later, my industrial is still infected and they don't have any useful suggestions for me (just useless and expensive tries again and again) ‍ read more

I went to Art Corpus before going to this shop and the artists there were complete a**holes. Given that I have a considerable amount of tattoos and have been to quite a few shops, the rude behavior of the artists at Art Corpus was really a surprise. I had the best experience here! I was studying abroad in Paris and wanted to get a small tattoo before I left. I sent Abraxas a message through yelp and they responded quickly with an appointment time. My appointment was set up with Jeremie. My friend and I showed up late to our appointment due to some transportation issues fully expecting them to say we had missed our appointment and could no longer be helped. But we showed up and they were so kind. They got both of us in with separate artists right away. Jeremie was kind and did an amazing job. I LOVE my tattoo and have gotten so many compliments on it since being home! The best piercing experience I've ever had - Yan pierced my nose and was so nice, friendly and reassuring and I couldn't be happier with it. His English was fantastic and he was very careful with sterilisation and cleanliness. They even had aftercare sheets in English to take away as well. You can't make an appointment for piercings but I didn't wait at all. They also offer a free 1-2 month check up so they can see if everything is healing well. This place looks cool, but for piercings--don't bother! It's a factory. So if you want to discuss what you'd like with the piercer, there's no time! I had my tragus re-pierced here and went back the next day to have it removed as the placement was poor (confirmed btw by a master piercer in the states to whom I promptly sent photos). I have had several body piercings in my lifetime, so perhaps this was just a miscommunication, but when I tried to discuss my options the next day, there was the same rushed energy I felt the day I pierced. my first piercing and an awful experience, a month has passed by since i got my cartilage pierced, and i went to go get it checked by them (as they recommend for the first and second month) YESTERDAY, only to to be rushed, and recommended i buy a "bigger piercing" or "use coconut oil" for my "scar" i had developed. TODAY, i go to the doctor to get a second opinion and as it turns out it's not a "scar" its actually infected, as a regular piercing/tattoo parlor they know good and well what an infection looks like, not sure why they didn't tell me, and why they suggested i spend more money on a bigger piercing knowing it was already infected. will not be coming back. read more

Was on a visit from US, they insisted I needed an appt for tattoo (which I made) only to arrive at appointed time to be told Natasha was not in to do the tattoo - WTF???? Ended up letting the front desk greeter "squeeze me in" to do the tattoo himself, again WTF! After all my taxi travels & fees there was no turning back (in my opinion). In the end, I felt dumb, beat & rushed. The artist wasn't very helpful after he said he couldn't do the wrist layout I had with me - SMH. The alternative (up the arm) layout is OK, but had I had more time to think and perhaps a suggestion or two, I would have put it on my other wrist or ankle... Lastly, I thought the price was steep for a thin cursive three word tattoo. Shop is clean, staff nice just not very helpful. read more
