This company's team demonstrated unsafe work practices while butchering my trees, then argued about finishing the job. I had another company out, and they pointed out and explained all of the mistakes made by Absolute's team. I am very unhappy with the quality of work, the condition in which my property was left after "finishing" the job, and the concern placed on not damaging my property. They also cut into my powerline with a chainsaw while unsafely using a ladder. Not cool. I will say that the owner, Robert, is very polite. I really wanted to give him another chance to make it right. I just cannot after meeting with an ISA certified arborist. read more

I had a horrific experience speaking to the owner on the telephone. Never have I been spoken to by a hired service, or anyone for that matter, in such a hostile, bullying or condescending manner. This company solicited my neighborhood for business by hanging little business cards on door handles about a year ago. I hired them bc I was new to town- I thought they were expensive, but went with them anyway. Huge mistake- there is something really off with the owner & how they run their business. Things were sort of OK until I had a continuing & unresolved issue with my service (despite reaching out to them via email several times). When I finally decided to put my foot down, there was hell to pay. It was an awful experience, and I hung up the telephone in tears and feeling as if I had been threatened somehow. I emailed the owner asking him to never personally contact me again bc of that feeling- I feel quite literally afraid of that man. Prior to that incident, I paid $288 deposit on a project-- (the minute you accept their estimate, they charge you a deposit, but give you no indication of when that job will happen). Feeling very uneasy the owner will not follow through & complete said project, I emailed another employee there three separate times, left him a voice mail & sent him two text messages asking if they still plan to follow through. I have gotten no response. It has now been three weeks. Leaves me wondering if he is just going to keep my money & screw me over by doing nothing. I have since found a new lawn service who is charging me a fraction of what Absolute was charging me. They are coming on a specific day each week, and use their cell phones to give me a heads up if something changes. All conveniences Absolute was totally unwilling to accommodate (they show up whenever it works for them, and the owner claimed it would be "too costly" to make a courtesy call prior to their arrival). I feel like a fool for having ever hired Absolute - I should have researched them before getting entangled with this company and it's owner. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. And I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB. read more

Yeah my experience wasn't good. They're just taking people's money. I paid to have garden down around my yard and it looked nice for a few weeks. After a few weeks there were weeds growing all out of the dirt. They just dug and put dirt down; they didn't lay the bed correctly at all. This was confirmed by TWO different landscapers. That same week I requested lawn care service and they charged $184 and only came in and cut the grass. It was the worst thing to deal with because I was having a party in the yard and it didn't look like the grass was cut. They told me they would send someone out. A guy came the same day, noticed the botched job and said he would be back that Tues. He was never heard from again. I'm so upset because of the money I put into it and my yard looks horrible. I chose Absolute Lawn Care & Landscaping because of the professional website and after speaking with the staff reference my a garden clean out with potential monthly maintenance. I felt confident in the services I would receive. The company surveyed the site and provided an assessment. The estimate was acceptable I knew my garden was a jungle. The issue arose with hours actually worked and final payment. The company asked to bill me for an additional hour and a half yet my home surveillance system recorded at a minimum of 45 minute work stoppage. My home system also caught one of the workers later identified as "Mario" urinating on my fence not once but twice. When called to approve additional 1 hour and half I knew the workers had encountered rain. So I asked how many hours was I being billed for I was told 5. I informed the billing agent my home surveillance system recorded at least a 45 minute work stoppage. I also provided him with the timeline below and stated I had video footage. Team arrived at 0915 1130 urinated on fence 1134-1200 Was on phone for 30 minutes 1202 urinate on fence again 1202 resume work 1221 started raining stopped working 1232 rain stopped still under carport 1232 dark worker resumes 1235 light worker ends phone call Left around 1415 I was told by the male sales agent that my bill was due and that he had been roommates with one of the gentlemen for years and believed the work hours "Mario" submitted. The same guy that urinated on my fence twice. The overall job was not completed however what they did finish looked nice. Will I allow them to come on to my property again? Perhaps if I need human excrement. Bottom line if they will use your property as a public restroom while your cameras are rolling no telling what else they may do. But in this instance because I was not roommates with the sales agent I was lying about the timeline I provided. I may or may not be a liar but the video footage tells everything raw and uncut. I called Absolute Lawn Care to request that my lawn be mowed. I was told that someone would go by the property, and then I would receive an estimate. An estimate of $35 was emailed to me later that day, which I accepted. Two days later, I received a bill for $210. This led to a variety of email exchanges and ultimately a phone call with the owner, Robert. I personally think that the estimate could have been explained more clearly and that my concerns should have been addressed differently than they were initially. However, it seems to be worked out at this point and I will continue to use them. read more

If you need trees or shrubs taken care of, they're very good. I needed a large sick tree cut down and they did a fantastic job. Incredibly expensive for basic maintenance. Just too much. Also, they will not sweep or bag leaves or debris, they use blowers only. So basically they blow leaves and debris around and onto your neighbor's property. I am unsure why anyone would pay for that. read more

DO NOT HIRE ABSOLUTE LAWN CARE & LANDSCAPING. They'd get zero stars if it was an option. They are a ridiculous pain in the neck to work with. They were contracted to do the yearly "38 visits" lawn care and garden bed maintenance for our small Irish Channel yard and I've been under contract with them for exactly one year, one month. They were hired so I didn't have to worry about my gardens [obviously,] but the experience has been nothing but inconvenience, after annoyance, after inconvenience. We originally hired them to lay sod in our yard, and we concurrently hired them for the weekly maintenance. Within a month the new sod was dead from a fungus. Despite their team being at our house weekly MOWING THE LAWN, no one ever once made notice of the new dying sod they laid. They never suggested a fungal treatment. I had to ask them what was going going on with the grass, despite them being their weekly "maintaining" it. They finally sent a "specialist" out to investigate a few weeks after my inquiry and by then it was too late and the grass was dead. Within the first month of service, they trimmed the jasmine growing on a utility pole in front of our house where my new car was parked. Sap from the jasmine got all over the hood, roof and passenger side of my vehicle. It cost $400 at the dealership for it to be removed. Absolute refused to acknowledge the mistake, much less apologize. They have issues making sure gates are completely closed [my three dogs got out numerous times because of it.] Beyond that, it was a constant battle to get them to do things right the first time. They never send the same crew out twice, so inconsistency is a constant. And when you call to discuss, the owner is incredibly rude. Now, one year into the contract, I emailed because our hollies. bottle brush and bamboo have been ignored all summer. They told me that, "Anything over 6' hasn't ever been included in the contract but can be added on. If for some reason, you were not charged out for trimming in the past, it was an oversight" What?! So a year later they're telling me that all the trimming they have been doing over the past year was an oversight?!? They have been trimming those plants since the beginning of our contract...and those plants were at least 6' tall last year when they were hired. The entire experience with this company has been annoying, and hugely inconvenient despite paying $100 month. Please do yourself a favor and read all of their bad reviews, and check out the complaints made to Better Business Bureau. Hire anyone else and save yourself the nightmare of dealing with this company. read more

The owner (Robert) is a real jerk. I called this company last year because I had mole-crickets, and needed help with them. I was at meeting and Robert called me at noon and said the staff would be over in an hour. I told him I was not at the house and could not be there. I have a gate across the front yard and people cannot get in the gate without a key. He told me I should hide a key so the staff could get in. I live on a street in New Orleans, where you cannot hide key,unless you leave it on the sidewalk. He then started to yell at me and tell me they could not work with me if I could not hide the key. I wondered about this, as if they could have given me more notice then I could have made arrangements for them to get in. When the workers showed up they were very good and did a nice job. BUT Robert again hassled me and yelled at me and told me they could not work with me anymore. Below is the email I received from Robert today. We used these guys to do regular lawn maintenance for a year and a half. It was a constant battle to get them to do things right. We constantly had to call them to remind them to blow the grass off the patios in the backyard. They were called 4-5 times about this. For $50 a trip, I expected far better service than we received. But the bigger issue was that they routinely did not shut and properly relock gates, and they were called 7-8 times about that. If you have dogs you don't want to get loose, find someone else to do your lawn. read more

We were initially happy with Absolute Lawn Care and Landscaping. The prices seemed perhaps a bit high but the sales team was friendly and prompt. They came out and laid in fresh sod (replacing our lackluster lawn) and it looked great. But within about a month, despite our maintaining an optimal watering schedule, the grass was all dead. The sod that the city put in by the sidewalk a week or so earlier - which got exactly the same water - is still thriving. We appealed to Absolute Lawn Care and they said that it was likely Saint Augustine Fungus and we should try a fungicide. That did not work. We asked them if they could replace the grass, as it was obviously diseased when it went in, and they said no. We asked them if they could simply remove the diseased grass, and we would pay another company to put in some fresh grass - and they said no. It has been a frustrating experience. read more

Extremely overpriced for basic services. They did a decent job on my front yard but I was astonished by the high cost of the service. They also missed a flower bed on the side of the house. The owner put a piece of used, old scrap metal to line one of my flower beds to match the others that were already lined. When I asked him why he didn't use something that matched, he replied, "oh, we don't use that. I gave you that piece for free." Yeah, thanks a lot for a piece of crappy leftover metal I didn't even ask you to put there when you could have gotten something that matched for probably $3 at Home Depot. He also put dead grass on an area that had been tunneled and sanded and told me it would "turn green over time." One year later, it's still dead and brown. Would not recommend. read more

Everyone I dealt with from the office staff to the team that came to my property were professional, organized and helpful. My garden beds have never looked better. I am considering them for maintaining my lawn, I love that they offer an auto-debit feature which means I never have to think about it. The pricing is competitive and explained thoroughly. I used this service for lawn mowing for almost 2 years without any major problems. Within the past month they continually moved my trash cans into my neighbor's lawn and did not move them back- this was not a big deal as I would just move them back myself. However, last time they came the scratched the front of my car removing the paint. When I called to complain I spoke with the owner, Robert, who really does not know how to speak with women in an even remotely polite manner. He simply denied his employees were responsible for the damage. He continued to say that I said that the damage was caused by the trash cans which is not at all what was said. There are 2 problems- one is that they continue to move trash cans without putting them back and the second is that they DAMAGED my car. I work from home and walked out about 10 minutes before they arrived and there was no scratch on my car, then I went out about an hour after they left i noticed a large scratch on the front hood. I completely understand that mistakes happen, but typically companies will take responsibility for those mistakes. I wan't even going to fire them- I was going to give them a chance to rectify the situation and when that did not happen I realized that this is certainly the absolute worst business I have ever worked with in my life. This is the worst owner and the worst company and if you don't want your property damaged then don't hire them. I really should have looked at the lawsuits filed against this owner/company as well as the BBB reports before hiring them, after all it is public record... read more

I had a Groupon for getting our gutters cleaned by Absolute and they were really good. The appointment was scheduled for the morning, but someone from Absolute called early and asked if it was possible to change the time to later. That actually worked better for me so that was not a problem and the guy was nice about it. Our house is one-storey but it's raised, so when they first arrived, their ladder wasn't the right size. They explained the situation and quickly went and got a bigger one. Then they worked like crazy removing about 10 big garbage bags of debris, and before they left, the bags were piled neatly at the curb for pickup the next day and the yard was as tidy as ever.. They were nice on the phone and in person, even after I told them I had a Groupon for the service. They scheduled the cleaning on the day I asked. I would use them again. read more

I too had a groupon for Absolute. I called and asked for them to come when I was home. the receptionist who answers the phone was so defensive and rude and still did not report for them to come when I was home. so they did not come on my days off twice. Why two times to clean gutters? B/c the gutters still weren't cleaned. The drainspouts were all clogged. But it wasn't until a good rain did I really see how janky ( poor quality) their company really is. Two spouts drained and 2 spouts trickled and 2 did nothing. if I could post a picture you can see the clogged drainspouts. If they would have come when I was home I would have made sure the job was done correct the first time. I do not want them to come back.. I guess having a discount equates to discounted standards also. read more
