I've been coming to Absolute Precision for my monthly facial for a couple of months now and highly recommend it. I have been battling chronic acne for years and have finally taken the step to seek more professional help. Kim is a fantastic resource of information and has guided me to monthly relaxation. I am using the Eminence skin care line that we utilize for my facials and I love how great it works for my skin. The overall environment of Absolute Precision is very welcoming, serene and quiet. I have only seen Kelly twice but will not be going anywhere else from now on. I was referred by several friends and I don't know why it took me so long to actually go see her. Kelly is amazing! She really listens to your needs about what you want to accomplish with your skin. Super friendly and easy to talk to if you feel you want to chat. It is by appointment only and she is booked far in advance. She has a great on line booking service that is easy to use and you can pick out your dates as needed. I get facials for clean, balanced skin and results, not necessarily for an ultra relaxing experience - but somehow, Kelly manages to deliver on both! I moved here from Philadelphia, where I had a fabulous esthetician, and went through a whole slew of people here in Chicago before I found Kelly. After just two visits, my sensitive, sometimes problematic skin already looks and feels better. Kelly does a thorough job and makes you feel completely comfortable in her cozy space throughout the entire hour. A day or two after my appointment, she always follows up to see how my skin is doing and if I have any questions. From my experience with Absolute Precision I can say that if you have a product that's been working for you, don't throw it away just cause someone says is bad. How funny, before Dermatologica I never had acne, after using it, I developed the worst acne in my life, pretty much their product destroyed my face. Also, if you purchase something from them, keep in mind that you CAN'T get your money back if their product doesn't work for you, but you can exchange them, how nice, right? After my face was full of comedones thanks to Dermatologica, they were expecting me to exchange the products I bought, really? Seriously, I spent $500+ in facials, products and tips to get acne, and I couldn't get my money back cause of their crappy return policy. Even the owner contacted me and I told her that I was using ProActiv to fix the mess and can you believe that she started bad mouthing ProActiv and telling me that I'd probably need a whole year to clear my skin, but guess what? Since I threw the dermatologica bottles in the garbage and start a treatment with ProActiv, my skin is getting back to normal. Btw, go to Temilla's Skin Care if you have acne problems. read more

POSITIVE: I first came here first week of June this month. Kim is nice and sweet. very helpful person.! I like the ambiance of the place. NEGATIVE: I went inside the room, and we started talking about my acne. I had a clear skin my teenage life but just last year of October I started breaking out. Tried many products Neutrogena, Clinique, Body Shop etc.. They didn't work. After my facial, about to pay she gave me dermalogica products which in my thinking if it's free. My facial is $95 I ended up paying $130. Kim didn't even ask me if I want to try new products. She just started giving it to me and explaining it to me how would I use them. Anyway, I've been using Dermalogica products (cleanser, exfoliant, mask , moisturizer and sunscreen for over 2 weeks. My face gotten worse !!!! I only had acne on my forehead and small congestion around my nose. On my first week of using it I started getting pimples on my right cheek! My forehead didn't change a bit. I still have the same acne.. Now, I change my facial cleanser to kojic acid soap! This soap helped my back body cleared . I started using the soap since last yr. This is also the soap I was using before I had acne. In my thinking, the causing of my acne are hormonal change so I also take BCP. I will stick from now on to Kojic Soap since I have lots of dark spots. I'm still using the dermalogica moisturizer and spf cream. but not facial, exfoliant and mask. I am Asian and 25. I'm having acne for 8 mos now. And it's really bad! :( read more

I've had two facials at Absolute Precision with Jessica. The first one was great, so I booked a second. For the second she recommended an enzyme mask. I ended up having a horrible reaction, with redness and welts all over that left my face peeling for a week. I was concerned because Jessica didn't mention the reaction to me until I was alarmed by my appearance in the mirror as I was leaving the room. Jessica is very nice but I felt this should have been acknowledged to reduce panic. I also was concerned because she said that this has happened to "a lot" of people before. She knew I have very sensitive skin so I feel this treatment shouldn't have been chosen. My second, bigger concern was the way the owner, Kelly, handled the situation. I sent her a note about it with pictures of my skin. I completely acknowledge that reactions happen but I was disappointed with how it was handled by Jessica. Kelly was incredibly defensive and said that I was lying about the welts and my pictures look "normal." (I debated putting them here so you could be the judge of that but honestly don't want to put that on the internet). I really wanted to love this place and would have gone back had Kelly handled it appropriately, but the lack of empathy and customer service left me with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I went to this place for four sessions for chemical or PCA peeling and then stopped going there. My main concern was my acne scare and according to Kelly's explanation (during consulting session before we start) after 4 to 5 sessions usually some results show up. BUT after three sessions when I did not see ANY improvement, I asked Kelly about how long it usually takes so that I can see some improvements over my acne scars, then she came with a new scenario that there is "no magic number" and there is "no guarantee" and we should continue every month to see what will happen (even for years)!! This is so ridiculous who would pay more than $120 every month without any hope. I am not dissatisfied because after 4 sessions I did not get any improvement, I am dissatisfied because I would expect them to make everything crystal clear for the customer at the beginning. A customer is going to spend a lot of time and money on this procedure, please respect! My suggestion: If you plan to go there for more than one sessions, make them be honest with you before you start (during consulting session). read more

Kelly is definitely the only person I will ever trust with my skin. She does a great job at not only giving me the best facials I've ever received (yes, the best!), but she also does her best in helping me determine the best course of action in taking care of my skin. She definitely knows her stuff and she's always willing to educate without pushing products on you. She really shows that she cares about her clients by putting a great deal of time in getting to know them as a person (I've had some funny conversations with her!) and by providing an educational element to her service. She's even taken the time to send me samples through the mail. I now know how to keep my skin healthy and looking great in between facial appointments because of her. I'm a guy in his early twenties who's had a continuous case of mild cystic acne. I definitely recommend Kelly to those similar to me. After my sister told me about this place, I started seeing Krista for facials prior to getting married this fall and I am SO HAPPY that I did! I saw significant results making my skin smoother, brighter, and more even. I was feeling a little lost with my skin care routine (what works? what doesn't?) and I think Krista really put me on the right track and we worked together to find treatments and products that helped me along the way. I have been going to see Kelly for just over six months now, and I couldn't be happier. I leave with a fresh face, no huge welts from extractions and great instructions on how to care for myself in between sessions. I don't feel pressured to buy the products, but I get them anyways! Absolute precision care definitely exceeded my expectations. I went for a signature facial with Kate, and she was very careful and methodical in asking questions to fully understand my skin needs and goals. She also reviewed the products that I currently use, and pointed out some ingredients that I should avoid and why. Her very in depth knowledge about skin, skincare, and how to approach a new client with more of a diagnostic facial and was very impressive. Not only was it one of the best deep cleansing facials I have ever had, but it was also very relaxing and enjoyable. This is my first Yelp review ever. I got a basic facial (after countless basic facials at both resort-like spas and med spas), and after never experiencing any negative reaction elsewhere and never requiring a dermatologist for a single skin issue, I had a horrific looking reaction on much of the left side of my face for a week, pictures of which I sent to Kelly for three days. This caused emotional distress and disruptions to my work and home schedules. Kelly did not warn me this could happen, nor is it reasonable to assume this is a possibility with a "professional exfoliation" with a basic facial. Her first reaction was not to offer help immediately or even show any imminent concern despite my distress; rather, it was to offer me a complimentary calming treatment the following week due to her personal vacation plans. Only after my suggestion, did she check to see if her associate Carly could fit me in for the treatment two or three days following the incident, and the two time slots she had available -- 5:30pm on 11-4 (Diwali) or 9:45am on 11-5 -- did not work with my schedule. Similarly, only after I insisted that she overnight me or drop off at my place the soothing kit of products referenced by a product "educator" in an email did she have her associate do so. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a facial. read more

With my wedding day drawing near I decided to visit Absolute Precision Skin Care for my first EVER facial with Kim and I can't even explain how great of an experience it was! The space is clean, quiet, and relaxing-Kim made me totally comfortable and explained everything very thoroughly. She answered all my questions about my skin and various products I was curious about. By the end of the 90 minutes I felt like I could just fall asleep on the table! My skin felt great afterwards and I brought home one of the Dermalogica products I really loved-I've been using it everyday since and my skin is looking tons better than it did before the facial. I found them Yelp and so glad I did! I have been seeing Kim for facials and my face is getting a lot clearer! She explains everything and is extremely nice if you are unsure about a product or treatment and want a further explanation. She also follows up with you after your treatment to see how you are doing. I was recommended dermalogica products and they have been keeping my skin clear in between treatments. I have seen dermatologists for my acne and have used prescriptions but I found them too harsh. I prefer getting facials because Kim treats my current skin issues and tries to keep future ones at bay .
