It was our first time in and the service was very friendly and very informant when we asked what were some of their best seller. All of the mini cakes and cheesecakes looked really good and we ended up getting a few and were given a sample of the sweet potato thang which is probably one of the best desserts I've had, hands down. The lemon cake, Oreo cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake were just okay but I will definitely be back for the sweet potato thang! I got the sweet potato thang, a slice of red velvet cake, and the fried catfish, fries, and macaroni. The fish was friend nice and crispy. They sprinkled some of their house blended seasoning on the fish and fries. They were good but that macaroni was not right. It's not the type I would have expected. It was watery to me. I didn't really like the red velvet cake. I make this cake by scratch myself. The buttermilk flavor was really prominent. But I'm sure someone really likes it. Now the sweet potato thang was unexpected. It was really good. I liked the sugar cookie type crust and the potato filling has great flavor. I would come back again and buy a plate of food. My husband and I were invited to a birthday supper being catered by Absolutely Edible Cakes & Catering. We all were inspired by the presentation. The 1st course was shrimp and grits which were outstanding delicious! I personally told Nikki. I normally don't like or eat grits. However, her grits were so delicious. My husband and I finished our serving of shrimp and grits. The second course was meatloaf with mashed potatoes, along with fresh yellow corn and fresh green beans. Both interactions were pleasant which supported my decision to visit the store and move forward with placing an order. My excitement began to diminish as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The strip mall is dated and unkept, the parking lot is completely saturated with pot holes and there were what seemed like abandoned cars and moving trucks parked in the parking lot. Don't know what secrets this shop has in its recipe, but this is truly a miraculous-tasting creation. This incredible dessert is quarter sheet size (9x13", at least ours was, I don't know if they're available in other sizes), and is just pure decadence. It's very rich with a buttery crust; the filling is very smooth (no chunks), almost like pumpkin pie or cheesecake, but the taste is different from both of these.
