As a pre-wedding test run, I contacted Berry Brown and received an email from Tina Markham, who was one of the spray technicians. About a week later, she was at my flat with all of her supplies. A full body tan is £25, or two people for £40, so I talked my friend into braving the spray with me. Tina set up a big tent in my living room, which has a light ivory-ish carpet, and not a single drop of stain escaped. My friend opted for a lighter shade and I went as dark as I could without looking foolish. Over the day the colour deepened and I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror. My friend and I exchanged excited texts. The following evening, my male friends couldn't stop saying that something about me seemed different. Had I lost weight? Was I sure I hadn't? The girl did not remove my cuticles before painting my nails and so the polish started peeling off that very evening. When I called to complain about this, the girl booked another appointment for me saying she will rectify everything. I went there for the appointment and I see the owner standing at the desk. I gave my name and said I had an appointment at this time. She said no you don't. I checked their book, my name was written and then crossed out. The owner called the girl to ask about this and the girl said that this other woman really needed an appointment for this time and she did not think it was important for her to redo my nails at that particular time so she asked me to rebook. I was so annoyed that they couldn't be bothered to even call me to ask me if it was ok to cancel my appointment. I told the owner of the whole incident and instead of apologising for the appalling behaviour, she looked at my nails and said that it looked as if I tried to ruin my nails. How thick can someone be?? Why would I want my nails to be ruined when I had to go to a wedding the next day?!

Healthy Glow offer a range of beauty treatments and have sunbeds. I don't use the sunbeds so I can't comment on that but the beauty side of things is excellent. The woman who owns Healthy Glow is also the beautician and she is incredibly knowledgable about all kinds of beauty treatments and she's always so honest, even if it means that she loses business. For example she advised me that for certain beauty treatments I would be better off doing them at home for various reasons, I was very impressed by her honesty because it meant that she would be losing out on the money that I would be paying her. The atmosphere is always really good and all of the staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome.
