I love a know spot where they cook for you. My biggest thing with AYCE bbq is that I always burn my meat. So I love when someone else takes care of it and makes sure I'm eating the food the way it's intended. The beef combo smelling about $122 but very filling for 2 people. The place is also nicely decorated, I love the luxury aesthetic of the place. If you're thinking about treating urself to some really good kbbq, then give this place a go!

Loved the ambiance at this spot, it feels almost hidden in a random location but it's the perfect spot for a date night or to celebrate a special occasion! The staff was very helpful and sweet to do the actual grilling for you. They also surprised us with a birthday gelato! On to the food... the quality of the beef was amazing! It was truly deciduous and the beef combo small was perfect size for 2 people. The combo also comes with the egg, salad, and soup. Would highly recommend this place!

We went for the SF Restaurant week - amazing deal! One order for $90 is for two people. The food is good and plentiful. They cook everything for you on the table grill, the meat warmer that they place the meat on between the meat courses is a nice touch. The dipping sauce for the meat as well as the soy paste and flaky sea salt were very good, though the wasabi did not seem great quality - it was lacking flavor and spice. The service was very attentive and friendly. They all seemed sincere in wanting for their guests to enjoy their meal, have a good time and leave with a full belly. We will be back!

Service was amazing, atmosphere was superb, but the quality of meats was lacking. Really wanted to give this this place at least 4 stars given I had high hopes, and the service was really good, but we were just a bit disappointed in the quality of the snow flower kkotsal. Did not see as much marbling as I did other pictures. We ordered the premium combo and the meats were just okay. The side order of beef tongue we ordered was honestly the best thing. Service was good, but they did forget one of our cocktail orders. Then when it came, it was the wrong one. Willing to try this place again in the future, but there are other options that we would prefer right now.

Ordered: Mango Cider (~$10): Mango, Yuzu, Lime, Ginger Beer AB Wagyu Pizza (~$22): thinly sliced raw Australian wagyu, crispy tortilla, ponzu aioli, green olive, white truffle oil Small Beef Combo (~$122): includes beef brisket, snow flower kkotsal (boneless short rib), & marinated galbi; served with house-made ban chan, salad, signature sauces & dipping salt; combo includes egg soufflé, ssam (assorted lettuce wraps), and spicy beef tofu stew Side of White Rice (~$3) Aya's take: Chef Akira Back has 20+ restaurants but has yet to make his way to NYC. I've had the opportunity to try his San Diego restaurant and was excited to see ABSteak super close to where I was staying. The AB Wagyu Pizza was a great start; the raw Australian wagyu was vibrant, fresh, and light. The white truffle oil was the perfect pairing and the crispy tortilla was a good vehicle. This caught my eye as he has a tuna version at Lumi which I loved. The ambiance is giving upscale Korean BBQ so we decided to share the Small Beef Combo for 2 people. It was plenty of food. The ban chan to start with didn't stand out to me, the salad was pretty flavorful, but I loved the egg soufflé and the spicy beef tofu stew was one of the best I've had. As for the meats, the snow flower kkotsal (boneless short rib) was definitely the best one. The beef brisket was super fatty and the marinated galbi didn't stand out to me as much. I expected higher quality meats, and was also shocked that this whole meal didn't come with a side of white rice - pretty much a staple with Korean BBQ everywhere I've ever had it. I ended up buying a side but this was truly unheard of. At this price point, I had higher expectations for the meal overall, but ultimately, there were some hits & some misses.

Unsuspecting Korean BBQ spot in downtown San Francisco with a nice ambiance, tasty food and okay service Good: +No wait and we were seated promptly +Offered coat check service since they cook your meat at your table +They cook the meat for you and the vents mostly work well +Beautiful presentation Okay: -Service was just ok for the amount of people working there. -Was hoping they'd sell the experience a bit more explaining the different food and how to eat it -Extra order of ssaam was $6 which worked out to $1 a piece of lettuce.. this would have been fine but when we got the first order, I asked if we could get more and the server said yes so was a little disappointed to see the additional charge -A bit pricey for the amount of food.. thankfully there wasn't an extra charge for a refill of the banchan(side dishes)

We made a reservation at ABSteak for our anniversary and we got the premium combo. There were lots of banchan and the beef stew was good. The meat was fine but nothing stood out. Some of the cuts were a bit chewy and I wasn't super impressed, but it was not bad. The drinks were pretty good. Overall the ambiance was nice and the place wasn't too crowded, although the service was a bit slow as the servers seemed understaffed that night.

    AB Wagyu pizza

I went to ABSteak on a Tuesday for dinner. The sign to locate the restaurant from the street is not too easily noticeable until you walk right in front of it. Once inside, the actual restaurant is a floor below street level. Around 6pm the restaurant was not too crowded but more diners came in as my dinner progressed. The inside of the restaurant is very classy with a lot of white lights surrounding the rooms. For starters I had the AB Wagyu pizza, seafood pajeon, and egg souffle. The pizza had Australian raw Wagyu beef on a crispy tortilla "crust" and reminded me of fresh hot pot meat on a wrapper with very nice flavor. The pajeon was a bit doughy and lacked the amount of seafood I expected. The egg soufflé had a great texture and was very enjoyable. To drink, I had their mango cider which tasted like it contained real fruit and was very refreshing. Next was the deung shim (USDA prime ribeye) with banchan, salad, sauces and salts. Honestly, the ribeye was cooked perfectly with the right amount of seasoning and didn't need any sauce or salt. The dish was placed on a mini grill which cooked it a bit more so those that prefer their meat medium rare should not place the dish back on the grill. The jjigae and kimchi fried rice felt a bit off, especially with the amount of green onions placed on top. The jjigae was mostly broth and the rice was clumpy and sticky. Lastly, for dessert the black sesame and lychee gelatos were both rich in flavor without being overly sweet. Overall, I had an enjoyable dinner at ABSteak, despite the shortcomings listed above. Service was attentive but a little slow, especially when bringing out dessert, but I definitely would love to come back to try out more things on the menu.

    Large Marinated Beef Combo

We tried out this restaurant as a suggestion from a friend on a Tuesday night. The total came out to about $230 for two. We ordered the large marinated beef combo, which included sides, salad, rice, egg drop soup, and soybean stew. The combo came with beef brisket or belly, beef bulgogi, and marinated galbi. My favorite was definitely the brisket--super flavorful and easy to chew. The marinated galbi was a bit tougher to chew.

Pork jowl Undercooked (the cuts were really bad, it's usually a fat cut but still has some meat on it but ours was literally just fats)

My boyfriend booked this spot for us for Valentine's Day, and unfortunately we both left pretty disappointed, mainly because of the service and inconsistent food quality. What we liked: The ambiance is beautiful. They clearly invested a lot into the interior and architecture - it feels very chic and aesthetic, perfect for a date night. We were seated promptly with our reservation. The beef brisket was actually very good, and the banchan were decent and refillable at no extra charge. Where things went wrong: The service felt really off from the beginning. There were still open tables, but the staff seemed overwhelmed. Because this is a place where staff cook the meat for you, it's important that they can keep up with every table and it honestly felt like they were understaffed. I don't necessarily blame the individual employees; it felt more like a management/workflow issue. Service was slow and inconsistent. We would ask our main server for things, but she would disappear for long stretches, so we constantly had to flag down other staff members. She also seemed new, she was gone for about half of our visit and then suddenly reappeared later. The biggest issue was the cooking. Since they cook the meat for you, you rely on them to do it properly: - The pork jowl was burnt to the point I didn't feel comfortable eating it, so we asked for a replacement. - The replacement then came out undercooked. At that point I honestly would have preferred to cook it myself. We also had multiple order mistakes: - We ordered soft tofu soup but were given soybean paste soup instead. - The corrected soup came out extremely red and oily, almost unnaturally so. - The pancake arrived undercooked; you could visibly see and taste the mushy batter, and by then we were too tired of trying to get fixes. - We were also double-charged for the pancake and had to ask them to correct the bill. Overall, almost everything required follow-up or correction, which made the dinner stressful instead of enjoyable, especially disappointing for a Valentine's Day reservation. I think this restaurant has a lot of potential because the space and concept are great. However, they really need better staffing, more consistent training (especially with cooking and cutting the meat), and a smoother workflow. With improvements in management and service organization, this place could be much better.

Korean BBQ has always piqued by interest, but not being a huge red meat consumer, it's just not a dining style I had yet to visit. I'm always up for trying new things, so when my friend invited me to try ABSteak, I was looking forward to seeing what it's all about. The outside of the building is unassuming (like much of SF really)- but when you walk inside and down the staircase, you're greeted with beautiful modern decor and a cylindrical wine cellar separating the bar and dining area. There are also 2 VIP rooms that look like they hold 10-12 people for private dining. Once seated, the menu was a bit overwhelming just due to lack of experience, but Peter was great. He walked us through the menu and provided suggestions on the various cuts of meat. We opted for D- the Premium Combo, which included kkotsal (boneless short rib), American wagyu ribeye, marinated galbi and pork belly. While I enjoyed every cut, I have to say the pork belly and marinated galbi were my two favorite. The house made ban-Chan was a series of small sides/marinated veggies that were delicious and a perfect complement to the flavorful meats. The ssam included perilla leaf, which we were advised can sometimes have an overpowering taste for some, so to start off trying it with a small piece added to the other lettuce. I found that I really enjoyed the perilla as a stand alone with the marinated galbi. Our meal also started with an egg soufflé, which was fantastic! (If only I could ever get my eggs even remotely as fluffy!) And lastly, of course, the cocktails! We ordered the Paper Plane and Royal Sonbi. Each of us enjoyed our selection. I'll have to make a second trip back to the city as I'm also intrigued by the Gochujang Margarita and the maitake and asparagus dish (that we simply didn't have space for!) I'd highly recommend an evening at ABSteak and look forward to another visit.

I can't believe this place only has a few reviews. This is a MUST TRY KBBQ spot! The yuk hwe pizza (AB pizza) is something you honestly won't find at most other places, and it was absolutely amazing. The meat quality was great overall, especially the brisket, which I really enjoyed. I came here for my boyfriend's birthday, and he loved it too. The ambiance was nice, the service was excellent, and everything made the night feel special. So glad I chose this place for such a good day!

Meat and other food are all tasty. Ambiance is really nice! Date night friends gathering are all good. Servers are all nice too. Such a great night spent. Will be back trying more food.

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

I read an article about this fee with many different names and I would rather pay a bit higher of a price and know the employees were taken care of than be surprised by this fee later. Two sandwich breakfasts, a mocha and a danish on top of tax and their healthy sf fee was $63. Steep for the quality we got. Won't be back.

I have to preface my review by stating I absolutely adore Catholic art, antiques, relics and such,…read moreso this definitely influenced my decision to check this place out; but I am beyond happy that my curiosity led me here. The ambiance was perfect for a nightcap. I visited Holy Water with relatives who live in the area but hadn't visited the place themselves before. Drinks we ordered include: * Mexican Firing Squad - Our favorite of all. We are classic paloma cocktail lovers, and this drink provided everything we enjoy in a paloma and more. Tart, smooth, and all-around divine. * Southern Exposure - The celery in this really awakens the senses. Very refreshing. * Zombie - Boldest drink we've tried yet. Haunted us the remainder of the night (in a good way). * Poinsettia - Wish this wasn't just a holiday menu item. It's fabulous. * Caribbean Snow Day - The playful kid's cup this came served in had us fooled. This eggnog sure packed a punch. Can't wait to be back and check out what other rotating or seasonal drinks they provide. Lastly, major shout out to the hard-working bartender last night who provided kind, prompt and attentive service on top of greeting all patrons coming in, taking orders and bussing tables. You rock!

I pretty much try any creamy drink that has a whipped egg white. This was an amazing drink, bright citrus, smokey whiskey, and a creamyness from the egg. Next the Miran Miyagi oysters were very fresh, I forgot what was in it, but there was some crunchy bits for texture and there was also a good kick of spice. The Hojicha Affogato was their dessert, and it was also great. It had dark chocolate gelato and a raspberry compote. I came back to try the Matcha Einspanner since I heard good things about it. I never had one before, but if they're all like this, then I love einspanners. It had a super thick whipped cream with a nice high quality matcha. The service was also very friendly. And since this is a bar/ cafe, it's super chill vibes.
