I am writing this review as I had an extremely terrible short experience with Landon & Rainwater…read moreLaw Firm. I have a 15 year membership with LegalShield and because the person who I'm battling in court with also has legalshield, they referred me to their partner lawfirm Landon & Rainwater. I had my initial consultation with Michelle, who was very professional, cordial, and attentive to my case and concerns. She shared that she had worked with Landon (who is the attorney that represented me) for 20 years and that they were willing to take on my case. I initially consulted with Landon via Zoom and we spoke briefly about our case, and he reassured me he has dealt with different cases with the same judge who was over my case. I had finished our initial call with assurance that he could potentially help the progress of my case. Besides our initial Zoom call, I hadn't received any other communication from Landon until the day before my hearing. He had informed me that he was going to appear remotely for my hearing as he had to travel out of town to care for his elderly mother. Our conversation to go over my case was not as smooth as I'd hope for, as I had already felt resistance and opposition from him regarding my concerns and what I needed to be properly presented before the judge. But we finally were able to come to a mutual understanding of what I needed to be presented at the hearing. On the day of the hearing, he called me that morning less than an hour before my hearing, and had a hasty, nervous, unsure uneasiness that the outcome would not go in our favor and he was going to add additional charges to address minor things that I wasn't concerned about. During the hearing, he called in and when my case was called and the hearing proceeded, the opposing counsel started with their opening arguments, and when it was my attorney's turn to speak, everything he spoke on had addressed nothing that I wanted, and was in favor and in agreement with what opposing counsel presented. The judge had seen that I wanted to speak and even was willing to give me an opportunity to speak, but my attorney insisted that I didn't. He also made an insensitive joke during the hearing about pushing my son to do therapy "on steroids" and laughed about it. This was extremely frustrating to say the least as I was completely blindsided and in disbelief and dissatisfaction with what Brad did. At the end of that hearing, the judge had ruled to give my ex temporary decision-making authority for my son's medical and educational decisions and I was now at a loss of words and loss traction and undid all of the progress that I fought so hard to get prior to this point. After the hearing, Brad texted me saying that we had "a close call and dodged a bullet." He also stated even though we waited for over 2 hours for our case to be called, he was only going to charge me for the time we began the hearing. I was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with how he handled the entire situation. I paid him $2500 for a detainer and to have only interacted with him twice and to not have the opportunity to voice my concerns or have them addressed when he is the one who is supposed to be representing me was extremely insensitive and disregarded everything that I had spoke to him about and did nothing to address any of my major concerns, which in turn led to the results we got. I asked for a refund and he sent me an invoice with over $1500 in fees and charges of services that did not add up, some things that did not make sense. I highly advise and warn those who may be getting representation by this firm to DO SO WITH CAUTION AND DISCRETION!!!

Steven Bliss was named as one of the top attorneys for this service in his field and our initial contact was professional and positive. The woman who answered the phone was very friendly and clearly explained the fee structure and how the process works. Three meetings, first two on the phone, third in person to sign the docs. First consult is free, half the fee expected at the second consultation and final payment at the third and final meeting/signing. We set the date for our first consultation and we were instructed to watch a video that answered a lot of our questions before that first meeting. It was Steven giving a seminar, explaining the nuts and bolts of what it is, what is needed, why it's needed, etc. Long, but fast paced and very informative. Mr. Bliss is very perfunctory and doesn't waste time. He's a no-nonsense professional, who explains the process well and helped guide us in the decisions we needed to make in order to make the process of distributing our assets to our heirs as easily and pain free as possible, structured in such a way that even if we add property in the future, it will be covered by our revocable living trust and won't require further legal expenses. We also appreciated that we are invited to call his office at any time with questions should we have any in the future, without worrying about being billed for it. Our service included: Home title changes, revocable living trust, powers of attorney, medical final directives, and last will and testaments for both of us. While the pricing for Steven F. Bliss was not the least expensive we found, the thorough service he provided was well worth the cost, which we still found a very reasonable value for the services provided. There were no surprises, no hidden costs, just professional, thorough, friendly service. I hasten to add that we did in fact, consult with another attorney early in the processes, who is also highly rated and cost less, but for reasons I decline to elaborate on, my wife and I received major red flags resulting from our discussions with the other attorney which cemented our decision of having Steven F. Bliss handle this important paperwork for us. Sometimes, you really DO get what you pay for. After our final consultation yesterday, Steven e-mailed us further instructions today, explaining what additional steps we need to take in order to maximize the protections of our trust. We are very satisfied and highly recommend Steven F. Bliss and his friendly, highly competent office staff.
