If I could give 6 stars I would! I was a bit dubious in ordering livestock online but since Pea Puffers were hard to come by in my area I decided to give it a shot and I am SO glad that I chose to shop with Abyss. Incredibly fast service, my order was ready to ship 30 minutes after I ordered and I received them less than 24 hours later! I really have no faults with my experience. Poor customer experience, wrote a review outlining how we felt and were made to feel by an employee. Instead of the manager having a sensible discussion with myself to come to a resolution, he was very aggressive from the outset, told me that I was a disgusting human being for raising this issue, called me every name under the sun, kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain our experience and also hung up....twice! GOOD BUT CAN BE EXPENSIVE! Quite clean, big place with small shared carpark but 'usually' there's a parking space, can get reasonably busy. Staff are usually quite helpful but often very busy so you have to 'grab' someone when you can, probably best trying to go at a quiet time. Fish prices seem fair but prices for equipment and accessories are very expensive and the staff, although knowledgeable, will often try and get you to buy things you don't really need so take someone experienced with you. read more

I have now been here quite a few times over the past few weeks as I have been looking for a new tank. When I was last in there I was amazed at some of the tanks and prices that they have had made so just had to buy one! The quality is superb as well as the advice given by the staff members. I spent the best part of an hour chatting to a lad there about various options I have. He never once made me feel rushed and was even showing me pictures of his various set ups. Will definitely now be my got to local fish shop. Anything you can think of relating to aquatics they probably stock, from there own branded items all the way up to the more premium end including Eheim etc. read more

What an amazing shop! We were 'brand new' to the marine world until we bought our tank in December. Thanks to the very helpful and knowledgable staff, we now have managed to maintain our tank. The staff can't do enough for you! We have been back and forth on numerous occasions and each staff member are more than willing to help. i can't believe some of the negative comments that people are putting on here! Went in this shop today and was served by a young Lad that had the personality of a Dead person - his advice was just directed at selling me expensive products - that's all. Shop was big and they have a beautiful display of Aquariums/Fish it's just you will get better advice if you ask a friend or someone you know who keeps Fish. Also before making ANY purchase from this shop check out the prices for the identical thing on EBay as you will save a packet even with delivery included. Lovely shop but expensive and with horrible staff who will try and sell and advise you to buy things that you just do not need. read more

We just went for a quick look and decided that the tanks/fish and staff were so great that we ended up buying our first marine aquarium! From the moment we walked in we knew we were in a shop run by people who care about their stock and their customers, there was no hard sell, just informative helpful staff in a large, clean, well-run environment. We have been to quite a lot of aquarium shops but this one has become our 'local' even though it is 20 miles from away. Well worth a visit but be careful, you may become 'hooked'! read more

A superb shop with excellent displays. Staff are polite and in particular ,the young lady with a marine biology degree is extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful and I'd give her a five star rating for customer service, an absolute rarity nowadays. My kids love this place, it's like visiting 'sea life' or 'blue planet' for free! I'd highly recommend this place for a visit at the very least and you're bound to purchase something,such are the riches on display to wet your appetite [to buy fish,not eat them!] The kids can't wait for their next visit.*** read more

This place is massive! Well worth the trip as you won't be disappointed. It has the biggest & most heavily stocked Marine section I have ever seen. I must admit though the tropical section tempted me too, with loads of Discus & Cichlids. A fishkeepers heaven. read more

Called into this shop at weekend!! Wow is all I can say. This had to be the holy Grail of shops. I've been keeping marines for 25 years and I've only ever seen some of the fish they had in in books. Racked out with good quality health fish. Staff were a pleasure to deal with especially the middle aged woman with glasses on. Would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone.
