We were having a standard bathtub removed and wanted a tiled shower in its place. We also wanted a kitchen backsplash installed. In the store we were told a price for the shower wall tiles. On the quote, it was jacked up about 20 cents per tile. Not really a deal breaker if you could go ahead and schedule us and order tile! We emailed at least twice, asked in person and over the phone when we could get on this list because we were ready to do this. All but begged (maybe we did beg a little) to please get us on the list and give install date, and we were completely blown off. She'd never give us one, always blaming a guy in the back for never being available to give her a date. I'm sorry, if I have to beg more than a week and still not get an install date, after initially being told there was a two week wait and then a three week wait, you don't deserve my business. Obviously someone's getting scheduled, just not us. I don't understand what we did because all of our interactions were positive and we only pushed about a date.Things happen for a reason and this led us to find a much more expensive tile that we both loved. Missy, money was never an object for us. You cost your store a loss and future business for three of our new construction homes on the beach.

Nightmare! Beware. READ the contract they ask you to sign and think about what that means before…read moreyou sign it. All Servpro locations are independently owned and this owner, Kyle Carter, is not to be trusted. Our experience: We had an issue with an upstairs commode where an object clogged caused the water to not stop running after being flushed. We called our insurance company and Servpro was selected as the mitigation company. They came within a couple of hours and began their services. Their work should have taken about 5 days. On the 16th day of them billing and mitigating, we complained to the project manager about how long it was taking. On the 18th day of them billing and mitigating, the two workers shut off the water to the whole house at the street and tore out the ceramic tile in the upstairs master shower. At the end of the day the workers went back to the water main at the street and turned the water back on to the whole house. They left. They did not go back inside the house. We were not living at the house but I went by a couple of hours later to check on any progress they made that day. I walked in to the sound of pouring water. They had turned the shower on while working and it had been running into a shell of a shower upstairs. The water was pouring out of the shower into a bathroom where the shower floor had been removed, the bathroom flooring had been removed, the insulation below had been removed, the ductwork in that area had been removed, and the ceiling drywall on the downstairs area below that bathroom had been removed. There was plastic hung on the ceiling so all that water pouring down pulled the plastic down in one area and created a funnel. It was a nightmare walking in, unzipping the plastic barrier, and seeing this. The original damage only affected the dining area of our home. This new damage caused by Servpro caused water damage to the entire downstairs. We insisted a new report be done and testing for all areas. We SHOULD have fired them on the spot and had a different water mitigation come do testing and provide a report. Oh, what I would give to go back in time and do that! We believed what we were told and allowed them to proceed. They minimized the damage to our insurance company. They did not test in the other areas of the house and covered an area they claimed to not be affected with RAM board after claiming to have removed all materials affected by this incident they caused. In 4 days time they were done and out of our house. Remember, the first incident was water that was running for 15 minutes and that mitigation took 18 days before they caused the second water event. The incident they caused was water running for 2 hours, but they can mitigate that in 4 days. That is pretty telling of their character. We went through weeks of back and forth believing Servpro would make us whole. We ended up being forced to file a second insurance claim on their negligence in order to move everything forward. This would later result in State Farm not renewing our policy due to two claims in one year. We had one type of flooring throughout our home. We had just renovated the house with that flooring one and a half year earlier but that flooring was discontinued. It took time to search to try and find it but we realized that all the places who showed it in stock did not actually have it. We wanted to keep the look of the same flooring throughout. Once the new flooring was ready to be installed, the contractor removed the remaining flooring that was not removed by Servpro to find mold from the water they did not dry out. The contractor ended up at the urgent care! We had to halt everything and begin mold remediation. Another nightmare! Mold remediation, not being covered by insurance, cost us a whopping $17K out of pocket. Servpro has insurance. When they did this to our house they did not want to file a claim and did not do so. John Carr met with us and assured us they would "do the right thing." What a joke! This has been on-going and has cost us more money and more than money. Now, we are having to spend money on attorney fees to sue Servpro. We sent a demand letter just for the out of pocket expense on the mold. They responded with an offer less than half of what it cost us and more failing to take responsibility for the damage they caused. The project manager and workers who worked at our home were fired. But they were the ones who were honest and owned up to their mistakes. The owner is the one who does not do what he says, does not take responsibility for negligence of his employees, and even tries to get them to say things that are not factual to shift blame off of the company. I have never been one to leave negative reviews. It takes a lot for me to get the place where a 1 star review is given. We have given this company WAY, WAY more time and grace than they deserve. They don't even deserve 1 star.

Steve, Judy, and son Matt own and operate DayStar Restoration in St Andrews. They provide regular cleaning service for our office building and clean the windows on request. Same for our home carpets and furniture.  In 2000 used them for the clean up of our downtown marina office when we had 12 inches of water in it. I was wading in the water checking everything out as the storm winds were dropping - called and Steve was there in the morning. Saved all kinds of stuff including electronics that had been soaked. 8 years or so ago while our office here in St Andrews was getting a new roof a storm blew up over the weekend. Water poured though the temp roof into 3 of our offices and conference room - as well as the whole entry reception space. DS popped right over and brought a new tool I had never seen before to suck the water right up through the wooden floor board with the hot dry air from the dehumidifiers that was drying the wood. Saved all the carpet and hardwood flooring. For Cat 5 Hurricane Michael in 2018 we rode it out in the RV in the office garage and when the wind was down to about 40 went to check our Harbour Village condo. Damaged roof vents were allowing water to leak in the kitchen vent and the 1/2 bath and soak the hardwood in both areas. DS was Johnny on the spot as the winds were still diving down. And again were sucking the water out of the hardwood floors- very important because the entry, hallway, kitchen, pantry, LR, DR, main hall and 1/2 bath would have had to all be replaced. We built plastic chutes to 55 gal trash cans, kept the dehumidifiers and floor sucker running full time and kept testing and testing the moisture levels. Saved them!! Then in 2019 when we had  all new S side sliding doors installed the contractor made a small little error and a gail from the south blew the water through the door gap and soaked about 70 ft2 of LR & DR. AGAIN DS was right there before the winds had even died down. And in late Feb 2021 we returned from a ski trip to find the guest room soaked with water from a leaking pipe in the bathroom wall. 15 years ago the pipe in the wall had just been touched by a nail during construction and for some reason decided NOW was the time to fail. GRRR!  DS was there within the hour with all the equipment - and 48 hours later all dry- no damage -  and furniture back in place. I tell you all that just in case you need someone to call for regular carpet cleaning, special carpet restoration (Deep pile Oriental carpet soaked in salt water) , furniture cleaning, saving wet wood floors etc! Daystar (850) 769-0606.  Very good people. And yes we do believe that the water gods do not like us for some reason. ;-)
