We have been so incredibly happy with the school, the program and above all the teachers who care so greatly about the kids. We looked at many programs throughout the city, but YCCA was one of the most established, organized and experienced ones we found. My son started with their summer camp program part-time when he was 2 1/2, and while anything new is an adjustment, his teachers were so open to making him comfortable and acclimated that he was soon giving me a big kiss and running off to music circle time every morning. They switch to a new activity every 30 minutes, and I believe the stimulation and level of interest remains high. My son has thrived under the structure and stimulation of their curriculum and brings home crafts he is so proud of every single day. At the start of the Fall semester they began working on a new alphabet letter every week and I'm shocked and thrilled that these preschoolers are absorbing it so well. My son is identifying letters and sounds everywhere we go. The children are treated with respect and in turn taught to respect each other. Communication about your child with the staff is very easy and open. They work with you to help 'raise' your child with concern and love as much as any parent could wish for. The parental involvement is top notch, and the price is affordable and worth every penny for what you get.

There was no tolerance for that before. They painted walls and made improvement, the kids are getting a good education, but at what cost? I was a proud alumni. The improvements to the school go beyond the brick and mortar changes that have taken place (new lockers for the middle school, AED and emergency preparation items in every classroom, new cafeteria floors and water bottle stations/fountains on every floor, updated smartboards in every classroom etc. just to name a few). The principal Sr. Danielle Truex, came to St. Peter's three years ago and addressed nearly every concern that the parents brought to her, and the improvements continue to happen with every passing year. The diversity of the faculty and how much they care for the children is also something that we continue to appreciate. Sr. Danielle holds the faculty to a higher standard, and the quality of the lessons we see our children bring home, and the way they have improved in all of their abilities reflects that. They were crying when we left. Came at 12:00 before lunch and left hungry and annoyed at 2:30. A lot of money for little value and no real tutoring.
