I called and the woman who answered was incredibly friendly and helpful, took all my info, got me scheduled quickly and grabbed the owner, Matt, so I could further explain what was going on. Dropping the car off was a breeze and within a few hours Matt called with a diagnosis. I really appreciated the time he took in figuring out what was going on, driving the car to feel what we were experiencing and running diagnostics. He communicated that there was a delay in the part getting delivered, which was fine, and the car was ready early the next day as he said. He will never try to sell you something you don't need, and will charge you a reasonable price for any work that is done. I've been to some mechanics who, when they can't diagnose your problem, try to act like you are imagining it. This has NEVER happened to me at Accu-Tune. Love this shop! I have been taking my cars to Johnny and crew for years now. I started bringing my used car to them, which had a lot of problems. I drove from northeast Philadelphia to them in south Philadelphia. Very friendly mechanics and I trust their work. Now that I have a lease and I live closer (with less problems), I still go but not as often. I got a nail in my tire and Johnny told me to come over. I got a crack in my windshield and Johnny told me to come over. He has never had me wait days for anything. I definitely recommend them if you leave in the area! read more

Continued.....The same day John told me to get a tow truck to pick up my vehicle before hanging up on me, I called AAA to tow my SUV to a AAA mechanic shop. An hour later I recieved a call from the tow guy stating my vehicle would not be released because I owed Accu Tune money. I then called John who said I had to pay $65.00 for the diagnostic. I asked if he could put the diagnostic and receipt in the vehicle so that the next mechanic could see the read out. I informed the new mechanic that the information would be on the front seat of the car. I recieved a phone call later and was told there was only a receipt for the $65.00 charge but no diagnostic. So the new mechanic had to run another diagnostic. I was then called two hours later and was told my vehicle was ready and that after running the diagnostic, the problem was a fuel pump relay and my total was $71.00. This was a big difference considering I was told via John the diagnostic was my fuel pump and would cost me at least $700.00. Honesty is not my experience, and it makes me wonder how many other people thought they recieved fair prices on a job they didn't really need work on but was charged for? read more

I lucked into finding Accu-Tune in my neighborhood when I first moved to Philly, and now that I live further away I still bypass dozens of closer mechanics to go back there. Over the last three years, John has always been transparent, quick, and reliable about repairs I've needed. He's even had multiple honest conversations with me about whether my car was worth putting more money into rather than just taking my money for a temporary fix. Great service - not a rip off like many auto repair shops.

Can't say enough about the service I received at this place. On our trip from DC to Jersey we pulled off in philly for some cheesesteaks for lunch. After pulling off 95 heard a terrible rattling and squealing sound coming from one of my wheels. I assumed it was a bad wheel bearing. Looked up some nearby mechanic shops and gave accu-tune a call. John, who answered the phone, told me to bring it in and he'd try and help me out. Got there and was immediately greeted and assured they would help me out and seemed to really care about my emergency situation. Figured I'd be spending the night in Philly but nope, one of the mechanics gave the wheel a look and found I had a small piece of metal/asphalt in the bearing. Was taken care of and back on the road quickly. When I asked John what the cost was he said nothing and refused any payment even as I asked multiple times. Told me helping me out of my jam was payment enough! What? Yes, you read that right. Great honesty and respect for this place. Just got back from Accu-Tune, my check engine light was on, and my horn wasn't working in the cold. Johnny saw that it was a faulty cylinder that he replaced. So he put a new one in, it is over 6 months, and the horn is working. I asked him how much, and he said "NO CHARGE!" Johnny is the best, most honest mechanic you can find. I just went here today because I bought a nice PT Cruiser off of Craigslist. He must be the owner/manager, but Johnny was absolutely the most honest and down to earth man I have ever met. He is knowledgable in every car and even made a prioritized list of what needed to be done now as opposed to later. He's an honest man and they really fixed up my new car to prime condition with new tires, battery, and brakes. All of their stuff comes with warranties. The next problem he said that he is researching a cheaper method to fix my engine mounts which he said was astronomically priced, but he assured me he would find a cheaper way to do it. Friendly customer service to the T. I haven't ever owned a car in Philadelphia, but I am so glad that I took my car to this place.
