It was NOT fixed. I called back and they told me it didn't work because my dryer vent was too dusty. So I called a company out to come clean my dryer vents and they said the vents weren't even that dusty!! And in no way should that have been the cause of my dryer not working. Then I called back about getting a refund and they wouldn't issue one. I had to call my bank to get one instead. They still have yet to let me speak to a manager about this. I am so beyond frusterated and say this with my full chest, do not under any circumstances work with this company!!!!

We gave Chance at Lucky 7 appliance repair a call when he was recommended by another repairman…read moreafter we had been hearing a loud buzzing from our dryer vent. My husband had determined the sound was coming from the location of our dryer booster and we had been having difficulty getting it resolved. Chance determined correctly that it needed to be replaced and agreed to do so. Once the repair was made, he told us to contact an HVAC service if we still were hearing the sound. We did so and were alerted that the replacement booster was not up to code. We contacted our builder, researched the codes, and got a second opinion and finally had a different company correct the repair. We then contacted Chance for a refund on the incorrect part but not the labor. He said he did not know it was not up to code and refused the refund. He said we should have contacted him and he would have put one that was up to code in and only charge us for the part. This would not have been acceptable as we would have been required to pay for both the correct and incorrect part even if he didn't charge us for labor on the second installation. He offered "credit" rather than the refund. We agreed for him to look at one appliance but told him we were not able to give him enough work to match the cost of the part and would like a partial refund. After lots of back and forth and insistence that he had done nothing wrong we decided a full refund for the part is all we would accept. Through all this, we learned we had been significantly overcharged for the part in the first place and he was not qualified to install the part as it requires a special license. He claimed because he didn't have this license, he wasn't required to know the codes so it wasn't his fault that he installed a booster that wasn't up to Texas state electrical codes. He took on a job he wasn't qualified to do without informing us, completed it incorrectly, then refused to take responsibility for his mistake and compensate us. I definitely would not recommend hiring him. If something goes wrong, you cannot expect he will make it right.

He said he could come the next day which was Dec. 23rd! As soon as he arrives & he remembered what it was that the problem was he said he thought he knew what the issue was because he saw it a lot in this model of washing machines (whirlpool cabrio). He took some stuff apart & after about 10-15 minutes he said yes that's the problem. Let me see if my supplier has it in stock. He checked on his phone, then said yes they do but it's 309.00. It comes as a unit instead of just the 1 piece that broke. I said ok. He went to pick up the part & was back in less than an hour. Within the next hr, actually less he had the brand new part installed & guaranteed the part & his work for 90 days. I liked the way he lets you know through text he's on his way or running late. Sends you reminders of your appointment. He was very pleasant, easy to reach, & very knowledgeable in his field.

So my lawn mower was making a strange sound. He said something was wrong with the mower. He, being my lawnmower (my son, he is my lawnmower.. hahahahaa.). He said the machine that cuts the grass was sounding funny. Broke out Yelp to see who you ladies and gents recommend. Well you didn't have anyone local to me in Hurst, but in a nearby city, Grapevine. Called ahead to find out the particulars. Sounded reasonable and family owned. Drove out, was given an estimate on parts and labor. Was thinking if it costs more than a new mower, will donate it on Nextdoor. Nope. She told me what parts would cost, and a service that included oil change, blade sharpening and fix the broken items. Came out way ahead. Um, 3 weeks turn around though. But they had a bazillion customer mowers out front in intake and outbound, so I expected it, and had a back up mower ready, and a lawn service I call time to time when I just feel like giving my son a rest. 3 weeks pass, I get a call on the exact day. Mower is ready. Drive out, mower starts one pull, no noise, looking like a new mower ready to cut some grass. paid my moolah, they loaded it up for me, and I could not have been more pleased. So thanks to the awesome family that owns and operates Gary's for offering honest service at a value. Not common these days to find one of those, let alone both. Also, thanks to you Yelpers that posted great reviews. One of you, Mark W. gave me a heads up on the turn around time, so even at 3 weeks, I wasn't caught off guard and knew what to expect. Not many small engine repair shops in business with mowers and such being made to throw away these days, and to buy a new one is usually cheaper than repairing. We live in a disposable society, we ourselves create and perpetuate. So I expect those few in business will be swamped and take more time to get to me. January 2024 we had him out to clean our HVAC air duct system in the house. First time our 13 year old house had that service. He and his helper were informative when I (who was working from home but husband was at the office) asked what the process was. They were respectful of our property and cleaned up afterwards.
