Took my lawnmower there because it wouldn't start. It had been in for a tune up the year before (at Accurate) and was only run once since then. I was told that it would take a week to 10 days and then I would hear. I tried calling numerous times and after over a month of them having my mower I finally got a hold of someone. The quote they gave me was ridiculous and they were trying to charge me for a tune up (which I didn't need) as well as other things like blade sharpening (which I didn't need). They insisted that these things needed to be done but once I told them that the mower was with them last year, then why was the work not done then when it had actually been requested. Once I gave them the account info of the previous owner of the mower and they were able to see the service records, their tune changed and all I needed was spark plugs and carburetor to get it running again. I kept calling and all I got was that the parts were on order still. 2 months later, I finally said forget it and that I was coming to get the mower and take it elsewhere. I go to get it only to be told that the parts came in a couple weeks ago but they 'lost' my mower so had been trying to find it. Fast forward another 1.5 weeks with radio silence, I call and they tell me that they think it was picked up as scrape by mistake. They ended up giving me a comparable mower at no charge so that part was ok. I understand that sometimes mistakes are made but there is no excuse for the brutal customer service, lack of transparency, and outright lying (until confronted) about the work required. Don't go here if you value your equipment. I took my electric lawnmower in to get the blade sharpened. I couldn't get the blade off myself so I figured a store that specializes in that would have the right tools. After waiting for THREE weeks I called and asked, "are you able to sharpen the blade, or not?" Shortly afterwards I was told the work was done. I picked up my lawnmower, brought it home and plugged it in to cut my now rather long grass. The mower was dead. I removed the cowling (plastic cover) from the mower motor and found screwdriver marks in the motor windings and armature. They jambed a screwdriver into the electric motor to stop it from turning. Went there on a Friday and put my name down to get a lawnmower that was suppose to be there Tuesday. I never heard from them so I called. They said nothing is in and it will be tomorrow. Called the next day and they said nothing in but it should be in tomorrow. Called the next day and they said nothing is here, call tomorrow. Well today is tomorrow so I called and they once again said the truck isn't in yet if it comes at all today. They never know if the truck will "roll in" today or not. Horrible customer service. I didn't even buy anything there and the brutal service that I'm getting now is enough to know that they will be stressful to deal with if something goes wrong. Guess it's off to Home Depot. Do not take your lawn mower or anything else into this place. I took my mower in to get an estimate, they called a week later and told me that it was going to cost $270.00 to fix it. I told them not to bother as I could buy a new mower cheaper. The guy asked if I wanted the mower back or if they could keep it to "recycle it". I told them I would come and pick it up as I know someone that will give you money for the mower running or not. When I went to pick it up I was told that there would be a charge for the estimate, something they hadn't mentioned at any point previous to this. When I asked why wasn't I told about the estimate fee when I dropped it off he showed me some fine print on the claim check and told me they don't have to say anything about the fee. He then told me that this had been an issue in the past and thats why it was on the claim check. I then said if you've had an issue in the past with this why don't you tell people up front so there's no confusion, he didn't answer. I asked how much was the fee and he told me it was the exact same amount as I would get for the mower from a salvage guy. He then also informed me that the mower was still in pieces and if I wanted it put back together then it would cost me even more. He admitted to me that if I just walk away that they were going to use my mower for parts and give me nothing for it. Never ever take any thing to Accurate Lawn & Garden. They are cheating their customers! I went there for my lawn mower which is under warranty. The customer service representative was super rude. Secondly I was advised that whether or not the lawn mower is covered under warranty I would have to pay $50 for them just to find out the issue. I said it is under warranty than why should I pay for it. He said it is our labor charges. Then what is the purpose of the warranty if I still have to pay $50, it does not make any sense. I would strongly advise anyone considering going there to not go because it's not the place where you will get good service. They are stealing money from their customer's pockets and are no help whatsoever. read more

I have been dealing with Accurate for 18 years. They have always given excellent service at a fair price. Sure you can find cheaper places to get you small equipment repaired, but at Accurate you know it will be done right. read more

I had exactly the same experience as Tony D. I brought them my trusty old Toro riding mower which had been a solid, reliable work horse on my acreage for over 15 years. The pull cord had pulled out of the starter and simply needed to be replaced. They told me the machine was a write-off but that they could take it off my hands. They even red-flagged it (like literally put a red flag on it) when they returned it to me (filthy and with parts missing). I brought it to a real small engine repairman and a few bucks later, I have a new pull start. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it and that it's an awesome machine. The other machine I brought them needed a new drive belt. Even though I told them the problem was with the drive belt (it wouldn't go forward or backward), they replaced the other belt for $150 and sent it home to me. First time starting it up, whaddayaknow, wouldn't go forward or back. Unbelievably crappy service. Do not go here! read more
