This facility could screw up a 1 car funeral. Their follow up on issues doesn't exist. The manager was supposed to call me about an issue. Said she'd call me on that following Wednesday, when the Dr. was back in. When I didn't hear from her by mid afternoon, I called and she asked me to remind her what she was supposed to call me on. She clearly wasn't going to follow up with me. They were supposed to fax over records to the Retina specialist they referred me to and never did. I would call to see where if my new glasses were in and they said a couple more days. about an hour later I got a text stating they were in. This happened 2X. Terrible terrible. read more

Last April my wife and I both purchased new glasses. Her frames have been a train wreck since day one. Recently the replacement frames basically just broke in half. During the visit last Tuesday the Branch Manager came and talked to us. Her Customer Service abilities are just terrible. We ended up with another set of frames. Do not come here, they get things wrong all the time and you can't trust them. They charged me for hi-index lenses but then installed trivex lenses. I'm lucky I noticed. The manager blamed it on the installing shop and took none of the blame. She didn't right the wrong, just said "I'll refund you". The manager then proceeded to tell me falsehoods about my insurance and their ability to fulfill my order. I took the refund and will not use them again. read more

I lost my glasses, can't believe I was able to get an appointment fast, no waiting . Careful Covid19 Precautions are implemented. The staff was friendly and professional. They took the time to help me pick out my glasses and they were ready the same day! Dr. Taryn Doherty was amazing she took the time to listen to me and explain everything to me. There were 2 main things I was hoping for on my first visit here. First I always want a good selection of glasses and I do prefer designer. Gucci is my favorite brand but found a beautiful red pair of Christian Dior that I purchased. That being said they do have plenty to select from value to designer. Now the best thing that happened for me was that Dr Taryn Doherty was able to fit me for contacts! The reason this was a big win for me is because I have flat corneas (from lasik surgery 10+ years ago that I am no longer able to tweak) and have tried to be fitted for contacts in the past unsuccessfully. She warned me I may not be a candidate for contacts but she patiently had me try on a handful of contacts till FINALLY I had a pair on that didn't float around my eyeballs and I could see! From the time I walked in, the front desk personnel and the young lady who examined my eyes before the doctor, were courteous, efficient and a joy to work with. Dr Taryn was the model of professionalism. Her easy going manner and pleasant personality enabled her to explain everything to me in terms that a layman could understand. My previous eye doctor, Dr. Sandy, sold her practice to AccuVision. I made my first appointment and was happy to receive text and telephone reminders. I came to my appointment with my little, well behaved therapy dog as I had at Towne Vision. Other customers enjoyed interacting with her. While I waited for my exam I picked out my two pairs of frames I was going to buy. I was approached by someone, who I suppose was the office manager and asked to leave, unless my dog was a seeing eye dog. How embarrassing!!!! On the way out, I asked for my medical records, but they would only give me a copy of my last prescription. If my records are not released to my new doctor I WILL file a complaint with the Illinois licensing agency as I did not consent to them retaining my medical records. My husband and I will be going somewhere else. Somewhere where I won't be humiliated in front of others and made to feel like I have to explain a medical condition in front of the general public. I'll be spending my $1200 elsewhere. Maybe I'm naïve, but I expected the same level of kindness and courtesy I received from Dr. Sandy and her staff the past 10+ years. read more

Everyone was really nice, but the cost of getting glasses here is astronomical! I spent $1100 on two pairs of glasses. This year I went elsewhere and paid $450 even though my eyesight has gotten worse. My new eye doctor is appalled that they charged this much; I should have looked elsewhere, but they do not offer to give you your prescription. read more

The individuals who work in the office are great! They are really good at picking out glasses that fit great and look good! The docs- that's another story. DO NOT plan to buy any contacts or glasses elsewhere, they will not release your prescription. Even when you move across the country and have used your insurance's once yearly eye exam and tell the doctor this ahead of time and they agree faxing your prescription would be no problem. Don't go here unless you want to go here forever. Also, if online contact companies call to verify your prescription, they will say they have no record of you as a patient. read more

So after my crappy experience trying to get them to release my FULL prescription, they totally messed up my glasses. The left eye was fine- and the right eye was totally wrong. Could see better without them. I feel this was intentional as the girl was angry that I wrote down the pupulary distance while she was "getting a manager" The doctor was there when I went to pick them up- but was "too busy to see me" so they made me wait another 2 weeks for a new appointment. First time patient at AccuVision. Also my first time ever getting an Eye Exam. Walked into the office and was greeted right away. Young lady in red frames welcomed me with a friendly smile and within minutes the doctor saw me. Doctor was very patient with me as i had a few questions since it was my first time at the eye doctor. Great selection of frames! Same young lady that greeted me helped me pick out my frames which i really like! She did an excellent job explaining my benefits! Highly recommend this place!! Lack of communication.. One child will have to continue going there since they will not give you a prescription to take. The rest of us, will be going elsewhere. Been going for years, and overall have been very happy with AccuVision for my eye care. Of all my experiences, my last one was not my best. My lenses (they send the order elsewhere to be made) got messed up. Also, during my last visit, the guy did not explain my benefits/insurance/costs very well, but previously, they always had. While my last visit wasn't the best, they still have been good to me over the years, and I'm willing to give them the chance to do better next time. read more

Third pair of glasses here. Great quality of products. Prices competitive if comparing same quality. Service is excellent. Individualized attention and willing to make adjustments -- though initiallly ask great questions, take careful and thorough measurements, pay close attention to your feedback. In particular, found staff worked great together here. Nedie's knowledge, skills, and abilities were astounding. Surprised she does not run- lead her own store. Don't waste your time. Went to this Accuvision for 4 years because my insurance covered the exam. Glasses were EXTREMELY pricey but I needed them. The 3rd year visit they made two different pairs of glasses because the first pair wasn't right. I couldn't see out of the second pair they made either. Kept using the previous year's glasses. The 4th year the price they quoted WITH AND WITHOUT insurance was OUTRAGEOUS. I asked for a copy of my prescription but was told emphatically ACCUVISION was THE ONLY PLACE I COULD BUY COMPUTER PROGRESSIVES. I wasn't even given all the specs on my prescription. I was told that information was owned by Accuvision. Trust me; ACCUVISION IS NOT THE ONLY PLACE TO BUY COMPUTER PROGRESSIVE LENSES. I found a pair of glasses at a well known establishment for $125.00 with the fancy lenses, coating blah blah blah and I love them.
