I had a silk garment stuck in a suitcase zipper which would not budge. I worked on it for two days before taking it to the Ace Hardware on Ringling in Sarasota, hoping they may offer some suggestions. The manager, Charles Lawhorn, took my suitcase to the workroom and managed to loosen the zipper from the garment with a wrench and literally saved the day for me! I had to pack for a flight the next day and would have had to buy a new suitcase at the last moment and forfeit a new silk kimono. He refused to accept payment for this kind act. Their customer service at this location is consistently outstanding and it's such a relief to have someone to go to when one needs help , which seldom exists in this day of online big box stores. I am so very grateful for Mr. Lawhorn's kindness and willingness to help an old lady in need. read more

I am writing about the Ace Hardware on N Lockwood Ridge off University, Sarasota FL. I never have a bad experience at this store or any Ace for that matter. My car fob was thrown and ended up in pieces. Since I bring my fobs to Ace for batteries, I thought I would bring in the fob to see if it could be put back together. Tomas spent a good 25 mins and got that fob back to perfect shape. I was totally expecting to pay to have it fixed, but no. No charge. The Ace local stores are the best! I love my local Ace Hardware store! I live near downtown Sarasota, and all the big box stores are out on the periphery of town by the highway. I have discovered that Ace supplies almost all of my hardware needs, from materials to tools. The staff there are knowledgeable, helpful and always friendly.
