I came into Ace Hardware looking for wood stain. This location is like a local hardware store compared to a Home Depot. I like that it's not huge. They have a lot of things in here. I couldn't find the wood stain so I asked the associate Finn whom was in the isle putting some things away. He stopped what he was doing got right up and helped me to the isle. I love this Ace Hardware!! Every time I've come in there has been an employee at the front greeting people and helping you find what aisle you need. It's incredibly helpful since I have no idea where I'm going in there. I also like that when you checkout on the weekends they offer you a bag of popcorn. Much more manageable than the larger hardware stores. Parking is super easy! Ace is definitely my go to! read more

We were driving around Warwick and decided to check this Ace Hardware store. We have a nice small lawn around our beach cottage, so some solar powered LED lights would be great. The staff at this store, as well as other Ace Hardware stores is always good..they know their stuff and they are helpful and friendly. The guy took the time to explain the pros and cons of these lights and the durability of them. Prices at Ace are usually a bit higher than big box stores, but you get the customer service and assistance that is lacking at their competition. read more

We ordered a Solo stove - Yukon model for a curbside pick up late last summer. We had young children in the car so curbside is best for us and we had faith that we would receive the right product when the associate loaded it into our trunk. It was a $500+ item. We never got around to using it last year and it sat in the garage brand new in box/never opened with the receipt taped to it still. A week ago, we decided to start getting our deck together and decided to look for a stand for it to prevent our kids from getting too close to the flame. When I asked my husband to check the model, he stated it was the Bonfire model which is smaller and well over $100 cheaper in price. We realized that they gave us the wrong model. We called the store and explained the situation and the manager stated there was nothing they could do for us given it was over a year. I've got to believe that's bull bc every store takes inventory at least annually if not more frequently and I would think a small store like this doesn't carry a large inventory of Solo stoves that it wasn't odd they were short one model and over on another unless it was done purposefully. Really disappointed. Literally never opened item with the receipt. You can tell if a stove has been used - it would have discoloration. Lesson learned for sure - always check for yourself that it's the right product. Expensive lesson learned. read more

We bought a Weber Grill before Christmas and did not try to use it unlit last week's warm weather. But we could not get it to light. I tried the Weber 800 help line and they offered to send me a part they believed to be the problem. This wouldn't work. Even if I knew how to install parts, I did not think the consumer should have to do this.So I called the store. The very next day the manager arrived with a new grill, made sure that it worked and took the old one away....that's SERVICE. By the way, our new Weber Traveller Grill works great. I ordered a Weber charcoal grill to pick up from Home Depot. Upon arrival they wheeled over the floor model that was completely beat to hell and missing numerous pieces. I then ordered one online from Gil's Appliance. I received an email from the owner about an hour later stating that they were completely out of stock and did not have an ETA for any new ones. She does not think they would get any for the rest of the season. I ordered one online Saturday night from here with free assembly. It said it would be ready on Tuesday. At 11 AM Sunday, I received an email stating that my grill was ready for pick up. Thanking it was a mistake, I called and they told me it was in fact ready. I could not believe how quickly they took care of it. Super friendly upon arrival. They wheeled the grill out and offered to help me put it in the car. I also bought a bunch of bags of mulch and they also offered to have somebody help me put it in the car. Very friendly and helpful location. Highly recommend! read more

Ace Hardware is a good chain, and definitely fills a need, namely, as a more convenient alternative to a big box home improvement store. Because it's smaller than a big box store, you're usually in and out faster, and, local hardware stores usually have more employees per square foot of floor space. That said, I found service in this store a bit lacking compared to other Ace Hardware locations (particularly those Ace Hardware stores owned by Salk's). I came here today looking for a bunch of fasteners, concrete anchors for said fasteners, and a masonry drill bit. As I approached a small group of employees, I asked a young male employee where I would find concrete drop-in anchors. Instead of leading me to the item - as I had hoped or expected he would - he merely pointed me to the general area. That, to me, is lackadaisical service. So I muddled about the fastener aisle, growing ever more frustrated, before I asked a female employee. She actually walked over to the aisle and made more of an effort than her male coworker, but her knowledge was lacking. She assumed I was looking for a plumbing item, just because I was wearing my work (plumbing) uniform. I had to assure her that it was NOT a plumbing part. Eventually, she did locate the two items I was having difficulty finding on my own (concrete drop-in anchors, and Tapcons, another type of fastener for concrete). She admitted she had no idea either thing existed. I had to school her how and why they were used. Normally, this less-than-stellar service would have garnered a 3 star rating from me. The only reason I decided to rate them at 4 stars is because the young man who was at the cash register was lightning-fast (if only all cashiers were as quick as this kid, there would be no long lines in stores). read more

The store is fairly new and I was happy to a hardware store nearby. The staff was very professional and there were plenty of people around to help find something or explain products. I was in the market for a grille and the store on Warwick avenue carries Weber grilles at a good price do we bought there. I will definitely shift my business to this local hardware store. High character and strong work ethic is hard to come by these days. In a world that doesn't seem to care nor do they care to involve themselves in good-will, I was shocked when the young men at Ace proved to be the antithesis of such. Tyler, Sean and the cashier went completely above and beyond. Their customer service was above reproach. The young millennials went completely out of their way to help me in a time of need. To wrap up this review, I ended up not purchasing anything from Ace and yet the staff helped me resolve my problem. The staff's sheer contrast of fleeting costumer service, tech replacing humans and deviation of any sort of kind-hearted gesture, left me in awe of the human spirit. I realize this may come across as dramatic. But when you stumble upon true, genuine, sincere kind-hearted people with real customer service, it must be acknowledged. Take notice! read more

I really really want to love this store. The location is so convenient for me. They have a lot of of products crammed in to the store....it's almost too cramped to shop but I don't go to hardware stores for merchandising. My real issue is that, while there is a lot of stuff here, they don't have a lot of depth. I just went in for a 2 hose sprinkler timer and they were out. 2 weeks ago I wanted to buy 10 bags of cedar mulch, but they only had 6 bags. If I drive an extra 10 minutes to the big box stores, I know they will have what I need. Prefer to shop local, but I need to be able to get what I'm looking for. I hope over the next few months they can improve the depth of products on the shelves. read more

The store owner is extremely rude and paranoid. I brought two identical screens for Anderson doors to be re-screened. When I brought them home, one fit perfectly in the door, but the other one was made improperly. The screen was the correct width at the top and the bottom, but narrowed in the middle. I returned it to have it redone. No one called to say it was ready, so I called to find out it was, in fact, ready for pickup. Before leaving the store, I measured the width only to find out that it was AGAIN improperly done--correct at the top and bottom, too narrow in the middle. I was told by a store manager that she would call me the next day and ensured me that they would get it right. No one called. I called again to find out it was ready and was told that it would be done the following day and that, Jim (the store manager) would get back to me. Again, no one called. I went to pick up the door screen only to find that for the THIRD time it was improperly made, again narrower in the middle than at the ends. Ray, the store owner, tried to tell me that the screen would work as is--clearly he did not know what he was talking about--it was impossible to secure it to the door frame as is. Eventually he said they could refund me the cost of the screen, but that he would remove the faulty screen. I asked if he could keep the screen in since I didn't want the frame damaged in transport. He accused me of wanting a free screen--never mind that it was completely useless to me as it would not fit in my door due to the varying widths. I told him I was very disappointed and would no longer patronize his store and would be sure to let others know how disrespectful and rude he was and how incompetent his store was at repairing screens. When I asked him for his name, he refused to give it, snapping back at me that I have no business knowing his name. Ultimately, I was refunded the cost of the screen and handed back the empty frame. Another store employee apologized for the owner's bad behavior. I assured him that I would not be back. Stay away from this store--the owner has a lot to learn although he says he's been in the business for 20 years! Oh boy, that must be why all the employees seemed so timid.
