It's so nice living in a very rural area to have an Ace Hardware within 5 minutes drive. I was able to pick up a few items I needed for gardening, a set of herbs and a flat of flowers to plant. I ordered a gas grill, paid for it, paid for assembly, paid for the haul away of our old grill, and scheduled delivery for the next Saturday. On Friday morning Ace Hardware left a voicemail saying they wanted to arrange for delivery that day. This inquiry wouldn't normally bother me, but when I called back to let them know I wouldn't be available to receive the delivery until Saturday as originally scheduled I was met with attitude. I have two request: 1. Please remind your employees to hang up the phone BEFORE THEY START DISPARAGING THE CUSTOMER ON THE OTHER END OF THE LINE; and 2. If you don't want to perform Saturday deliveries, don't offer them...problem solved. read more

Store attempts to sell items with incorrectly labeled prices and when you tell them the items price is not as stated on the shelf tag they refuse to sell you the item at their displayed price. I took a picture of the item in the shelf and the price it was showing and I was told by the manager I could pay the price that it should have been displayed with. I told the manager he could correct the shelf tag but he should sell me one at the price that it was displayed with. He refused to honor the displayed price. This store definitely should be avoided and manager should be retrained. This store is customer no service. read more

The new store is beautiful and well organized. I bought a 16" Stihl chain saw from Ace. The main reason is I know they show appreciation to their customers. Sure enough... they didn't let me leave the store until they explained what replacement chain to buy when I need to. They put Gas in it and ran it to make sure it didn't have any issues. I go to ace because of the quality of the products they offer. If I have a project or need to do a work around... There are people there that have experience in almost everything I've had to do. The big box stores have lots of stuff... but good luck getting help finding what you're looking for! read more

My brother-in-law just moved into Woodmont CC and we needed some strong wood glue to repair a broken piece of furniture. As soon as I got to Ace two young gentlemen greeted me and assisted me in finding the glue. There was a good selection and I opted for Gorilla All Purpose glue. It worked very well. This was my first visit to this Ace store and it was quick in and quick out, with excellent customer service. Convenient location with good access. read more

If I could give a -0000 rating I would. My husband went to go purchase a ladder that he wasn't even sure he would use. He asked 2 workers if he can return it and they said yes as long as it was in perfect condition and under 30 days. He went back 4 hours later to return it because he didn't end up using it. They ended up telling him that he COULDN'T return the ladder even though it was in perfect condition. The manager had a stank face too. The ladder was $370.99. read more

Terrible service. I was buying an extension ladder but wasn't sure what length ladder I needed so I asked the person attending me whether or not they accept returns on ladders. They told me that it was no problem and I could return it without any issue. Me being skeptical still I asked the person at the checkout desk if returns on ladders are possible. They tell me that a return is possible as long as I have the receipt and It's within 30 days. Well the ladder I bought turned out to be too short. Keep in mind this is only 4 hours later. The ladder is in the exact same condition I bought it in. I go into the store wanting to return the ladder but I am told that they don't do returns on ladders. I'm talking to the person explaining to them that their own workers were the ones who told me I'm able to do a return. Regardless they didn't let me return it. To top it all off the ladder seems like it's been beat up, all discolored, the fiber glass strands are showing and it costed me $370.99 in total. read more

I've been a lifelong customer of all Ace hardware stores (that's 40+ years). However, you have lost my business over a simple solution. Roughly 30 days ago I purchased TWO blue rhino propane tanks for my Blackstone. After using one, I went to connect the second tank and it leaked when the valve was turned on. This is rather dangerous don't you think? Anyway, brought it back for replacement today and was told that since it's been beyond 40 days, I would have to PAY for an exchange. That's right, pay to replace a defective tank. It's a shame since I spend money in your store every week. Tractor Supply, here I come.... read more

It is times like this that I wish Yelp had half stars, as I believe 3.5 stars is more accurate. The location is superb and the folks working there have always been kind and friendly; however, my issues lie in their stock. Too many times I have driven up there for a pretty generic item only for them to be out of stock or not carry it all. It seems no one goes around and takes inventory for reordering, as I constantly see the same things out of stock. That being said, their assortment of bolts/nuts/etc is superb and I have always been able to find the quirky fastener that I need. I understand that ACE is not a traditional big box home improvement store, but if they would stock what they have UPCs for on the shelf it would be a huge improvement. read more

Both the manager and the person at the check out counter - rude and uninformed. After calling ahead to make sure they offered the service, I brought a propane tank to be refilled. (1) Check out person said she didn't know what was talking about. (2) I asked her to check with the manager who seem to resent my asking for him. He said my tank was too old to be refueled, and seemed to be angry at me for not knowing. (3) When I asked, the check out person about a new tank, she "didn't think" they sold new tanks. I insisted that she check. She sold me a new tank but it was empty. (4) When I returned the empty tank, the check out person insisted that I had explicitly asked for an "empty tank", essentially telling me I was lying. Luca is the bomb he knows his way around the store and the equipment. Every time I go into Ace Munger is taking fat rips of his inhaler when no one's looking but I always see him... always, anywho, Service is a 10/10 and so are the conversations, I always love coming in with projects and having the ability to share a common interest and knowledge on the topic at hand. Being wheelchair bound it's often hard carrying those super duper heavy bags of cow stuff so having strong man Corey throw those bags over his chiseled shoulder makes me sweat ‍ and don't get me started on Zach he always lends a nice smooth helping hand in tightening my wheel lugs when my car gets a little wobbly (my wheelchair ). The maid, the myth, the legend Andrew is such a hoot, he always makes conversation and knows a thing or two about how to cook a great meal. Andrew is such a strong worker, he works at ace as much as he can and when he's not their he's at his second job where he gives massages to his clients . Overall Ace is the place to be and if the world economy collapsed or we all died a gruesome horrible death I know Ace would be standing tall read more

Bought needle nose vice grips a week and a half ago. They did not work. Could never get a tight grip on anything. Then since these are the "new and improved" version, they don't have the little lever to release the grip. So if you got it tight, it was nearly impossible to open again. Cost way more than it should as is the case if nearly everything at this hardware store. Low value. When I bought them, I asked the person at the register what is the difference and he said that I would need to talk to someone else. Not, hey I have this radio thing, let me find someone to help you. No, he put it on me, the customer to go and find someone that knew something about the tool. Well, since the tool did not work, and since the receipt clearly shows "hassle free returns" at the bottom, I decided to return it. The guy at the register took a look at the tool and then asked if I had the packaging and I said no. He then bluntly said "well I cannot accept a return without it" so much for hassle free. A lie. So, I won't ever be in this store again. No customer service, lying about the "hassle free return", no knowledge of what they even sell and the prices are 50 to 100% more than going elsewhere. I would pay more if it came with good customer service. But this was horrible. read more

This place is great. The service was impeccable. I need 2 bolts that would be well under $1 each. The staff spent at least 20 minutes going back and forth to my car with me checking numerous bolts for fit and finish before fining the correct one to buy. Compared to big box where I was on my own and had to return 2 sets of bolts before giving up. Why would anyone go anywhere else. Seriously this store and its staff is great, and the prices are in line with big box. read more

Just went in to purchase a gas grill that is in the sales paper but was told it was not in stock. I said I would like to buy it even if we have to order it. Zach is the Sunday manager and he was super rude as if I was a problem for being there to buy something. When I told him he was being rude to me, he told me we could go outside if I had a problem with him, I laughed and told him OKAY, no problem. He then made a mouthy scene and walked to the back of the store. ZACH NEEDS TO BE FIRED ..... and not work with the general public. I've been going to this store for almost 18 years. It used to be there was a group of older men who knew where everything was and were truly "helpful." It was a one stop shop. Now more and more I go there and the item is out of stock. the new owners/managers seem to have trouble finding help that actually works and knows where things are. One employee there, an older guy was apparently born without a personality. Recently I went there and the place looked like it was being run by high schoolers. Nice kids. Didn't know squat. Within the last month I've walked out twice for no service. Today was #3. The one young man on the floor was talking to a customer and actually walked him to the checkout and stood there talking until the guy left. There were two of us waiting for help in paint. Then a crabby old guy came by with an empty cart and an empty basket. A customer asked where something was. The old guy kept walking and pointed to the end of the store and muttered something. He never stopped and faced the customer and just kept on walking. He put the cart away and went back in the stacks to hide. Then a young girl came out of the back. She didn't ask me if I needed something, she asked how I was doing. I was walking out as she spoke to me. I told here I was fine and left. read more
