You estimated the cost of work to be $1200, and you said you'll only charge $600. If you have proof that you didn't receive all the money that we agreed on, please show it, or contact the police or file a civil court case. First you accused me that I was on site for 4 hours and ran away, now you're saying I was there of 7 hours and ran away. The truth is I was there at most 1hr and before I left, I told you to send me an invoice for the job and I'll send you the money, however when your worker finished the job, you harass the tenants instead of sending the invoice. A few month later after I left a bad review, you called and asked me to forgive your racist comments and asked me to remove the 1 star review. However, I refused because I truly had a poor experience with you. Later on, you called me at night, threatened me and said that you'll revenge me. Even though it happened a year ago, I still have the recoding of our conversation when you threaten me. we had a contract before you start any job. Review our contract and look at our agreement. Owner, John, is really unprofessional with his work. His guaranteed 10 year warranty. He claims his 10 year warranty is a promise to fix his roof. A typical Roof fixture will consists of removing all the materials from the beginning including the gravel. They left the rocks on top and just layered shingles on top to cover the roof. Second, we asked him to install a gutter pipe which was installed uneven. We've asked John to come twice to fix the pipe because it's holding water up there and will cause leakage. He insisted that it was our fault that we are doing construction work on the house and blamed the other contractor that caused the leak...If the gutter is uneven and not flowing through...how would it be the other contractor's fault if they were working on interior design? (I'd like to reiterate that the Gutter installation they provided is the reason causing the overflow of water to leak through the roof) We've called multiple times with no response. I've asked him to schedule some time together to look at the piece together and yet he's not willing to show up. He sent his worker over and claimed that it will cost additional negating his 10 year warranty fixtures. I understand how Felix's comment on 12/31/2022 in regarding poor customer service and attitude really plays a factor in his "business" When a job is complete, he will call you multiple times to ask for a great review online, but when something happens. He is no where to be found. We ask for him to come take a look at the roof again and if it was the contractor's fault, we will be glad to fix and pay for it ourselves. Unfortunately, a year later after his fixture and he is nowhere to be found. Overall his roof fixture estimating about $15,000 with additional fees. I'm guessing 10 year warranty does not matter once you're reimbursed and disappear. As he continues to focus on the roof...the main problem is the gutter installment which is installed uneven. That caused the leakage. He stated there's a ceiling fan in the house...which Daly City is cold so there's no fan. Continuation of false accusations is not a strong ethical business. For future references for others, I'd highly recommend alternative options. Money is not the problem when it comes down to both parties with an agreeable term. But the work done and promises was falsified. The roof is not leaking where kitchen fan is installed but the front of the house where the gutter was installed....kitchen fans are directed to the side of the house and not towards the top of the roof. With a new roof being such a financial investment, you worry about choosing the right roofer because choosing the wrong one can be quite a costly mistake. I spent a month during the Spring reaching out to roofers and getting quotes until I finally settled on Ace. The decision came down to the quality of their work, their price, and their warranty. One last factor is their availability. I never would've guessed that it may take 3-6 months after signing the contract before work actually starts. Luckily, Ace had an opening and was able to squeeze me in a couple of weeks. Juan, the supervisor, and his crew were great to work. He kept me up-to-date on their progress and was able to complete the project faster than expected. It all worked out for the best because no one would've guessed the Bay Area would be hammered by a storm in the late Summer. I was so concerned and was anticipating leaks, but the new roof held up. I am writing this review for my roof which was 30 yrs old... A roofing inc did a great job for me and for my dad's sisters house!!! They strip off the old one and replace it some of the rotten spot... And they put in the new plywood on it!!! And the roof looks very neat right now... And the price was reasonable!!! There was a small problem with scheduling, as I was out of town for an extended period, and the roof was to be done 10 days after I returned. I did not check to see if that was still planned and it was not. He put me next to be done when the issue was raised. The workers were very efficient, but the next day I noticed a solar tube had been knocked loose with the pounding. Jon sent a crew over to repair it the same day. When one of the crew crawled in the attic to repair it, he saw how much gravel & ?tar paper had ended up in the attic of my 100 yr old house. Both men took a small wet dry vacuum up in the attic & cleaned it so I am comfortable going up there and not dragging gravel back down stairs. I am hoping this roof will last the 27 years without a problem like the last one did. read more

Update to comment on the owners review. It did leak, because they completely missed an entire spot. We were eating dinner and water was dripping onto our dinning table. We got so annoyed after investing bunch of money, so we pulled up a water hose up to our roof to test out if it is the window or the new TPO they put in and found the huge gap and called them out. Wish they just come and add in the flashing and call it a day, but instead they respond to this review faster than calling me back. -------------- We had our roof replaced by Ace roofing back in 2019. Originally we were pretty happy about it. Solid pricing and okay craftsmanship. That same year, we had a leak from our top floor. We called ace roofing and asked them to take a look. Turned out it was our window instead of the roof. So we had a quick fix for our window to avoid more water going into our house. Then COVID happened, we didn't have a chance to switch out our window until early this year. After our windows replacement, water started to leak into our roof again! We were like it must be our new windows! But nope! Turns out it was the new roof Ace roofing put in. They completely missed an area behind my gutter. Called John specifically to ask him to come take look. He sent one of his foreman to chalk it up instead of adding a flashing like rest of the roof. Called him three times and no call back. Got a random text saying he got my flashing and ready to put them in. And when I replied the text and asked him when he's coming back. He completely ghosted me. So lesson here is that - even they gave you like xxx amount of years of warranty coverage. It doesn't matter because they don't call you back! read more

After Ace Roofing completed a small but difficult new shed roofing project (that no other company we contacted would undertake because of restricted access to the roof beneath a deck and the insignificant size of the area to be covered). They did a good job on short notice because we needed help; pricing and coordination was very good. Afterwards, I realized that an additional project was required - the rerouting of a broken house downspout that formerly ran through the old shed. This was not part of my original order with the company. Again, despite the tiny scale of the job, I spoke with John C on the phone and he agreed to help. I called in December when there was a lot of rain in San Francisco and Ace Roofing was very busy. We agreed that there was no urgency to my request and John said he'd come back in touch when things settled down after all the rush jobs were completed. About six weeks later, John sent a very capable, patient and careful roofer (name, Pakistan) to assess the job - he brought some downspout material hoping he could fix things right away. Turned out there were specific parts (extra elbows and such) needed to solve our problem - but Pakistan didn't want to leave us with no downspout because rain was coming again. He ran a temporary above-deck downspout and said, once again, we'll see you after the storms. Indeed, after a couple phone calls reminding busy John C, Pakistan was scheduled to come back with required parts. He actually showed up a few days early in case we were home (we weren't), but then a few days later he returned, with extra supplies and a helper, and they completed what turned out to be a little bit trickier job then he or I anticipated - in about two hours. Why am I providing all this detail? While I don't have any inside information, it seems to me that Ace Roofing is a smaller company which puts a lot of effort into managing limited resources in order to finish jobs that customers will appreciate. John C is a guy who works on "the honor system" who extends (and expects) honest communication, two-way trust and patience in solving problems. My example, a nuisance job that other roofers were not interested in doing, demonstrates that Ace Roofing is a good choice for handling problem situations even though there is not a lot of profit involved. I felt fine that he asked for my understanding about putting other customers ahead of me when their needs (leaky roofs over their homes) were more urgent. I cannot review performance on a large or "typical" full reroofing job - that's not the service I needed at this time - but for the scope and nature of my requirement, once again Ace Roofing did a good job, cared about me as a customer, and - oh yeah - was very reasonable (even generous) about the price (because we waited so long). 2 years ago, I got Frustrated of having a couple of roofing company referred by friends that did not do a good job. I asked around my neighbors and gave me Ace Roofing SF Inc (Bay Area). I called Ace Roofing, made an appointment and set up to fix my roof. Ace Roofing response was quick. Job done and with minimal supervision. They were able to do the job quick and efficiently and up to this point no leaks from the work they did 2 years ago. 2023 I have to give them a call again for my rental unit, leaking sunlight. Less than one year ago, I had Ace and a few other roofers come by to provide an estimate for two leaks that had started in my newly purchased home. Raul came by- he was great to talk to and very informative- showing me many photos he took when he was on the roof. I wound up choosing Ace. The day of the repair, Raul was no where to be found- actually he was out of the country (even though I had been corresponding with him and he hadn't mentioned it)... that was surprise #1. Then, I found out that the workers who were on site hadn't seen his notes or his estimate and didn't know what work was to be done- that was surprise #2. I was annoyed and contacted the office and they sent a top level person over- but still, what is a top level person going to do if they didn't review Raul's notes/photos and since Raul was MIA anyway? Now, less than one year later, one of the leaks- in the same exact spot as last year- started leaking again with some of the intense rain we had last week. I was surprised but re-read my paperwork from last year which said "We (ACE Roofing) provide you a one time fix warranty for our work in case leak." Great. I mentioned this in my email and they scheduled a time to come by. Steve stopped by- he took photos and talked about how shotty the work done was. From the photos, I could see what he was talking about- there was a section that wasn't even covered and there was some sticky substance everywhere. I looked at him with surprise and said it was Ace who did the repair last year, as I had mentioned in my email. He didn't seem to understand and said he'd send me a quote. The quote he sent me was for $875 (again, for work that should have been done correctly last year). I mentioned the warranty and was told "the warranty has passed." I asked when the warranty expired. No response. Why offer a warranty if you won't honor it?? Or even respond to emails once a customer calls you out? I figured the warranty would last for at least a year- especially since the leak is in EXACTLY THE SAME SPOT. To summarize: I am livid with these roofers. They arrived to my home unprepared last year, did a shotty job the first time (when they came this time, they commented on how badly the work was done because they forgot it was done by them), now they want to charge me $875 to repair the same leak they repaired last year, and they say the warranty has passed. Roofing company hired to fix the roof a few years ago. First rain after the roof was supposedly done there was a leak. Crew came over to fix the leak and haven't had any issues with that one spot. Now after heavy rains again we realized there is a flange that was never installed to protect water from getting between the roof and ceiling. Ace Roofing has been called multiple times over the last few weeks but we have received no response as of 11/18/2021. Update 11/24/2021: 6 days after the review John finally called back. We contracted john and James to come do our roof in a building in San Francisco, they provided 10 years warranty which they do NOT honor, I have multiple areas in my roofing that leaks every time it rains, they said they would come out after thanksgiving. 2 weeks later, I called John he said he would come Friday to meet me. Friday came, he would not answer my calls and did not show ignored me. This was a big project and we paid a lot of money for it. Now it leaks on my tenants and commercial spaces. They will not answer me or fix the issues I will be going to the attorney General and CSLB with this complain. They also subcontracted Camelot roofing, which I will also complain about, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY don't say I didn't tell you so, you could see all the bad reviews are true, all the 5 stars will turn to 1 soon because their work is horrible. read more
