Bought an aspire R15 from Best buy in may, 2017. 2 months later began acting really strange, then died. long ugly story. different diagnoses: had to reseal connections to battery, screen, touchpad. bad stuff. Acer put up every blockage they could to make this right. I was supposed to send it back to texas with a two week turnaround or replacement, i was supposed to pay for insurance, no refunds, you get the picture. Fixed it on my dime. Worked on and off, in and out of the shop. I'm done. It's done. Some free advice? The newer and newer stuff is not better than some of the older stuff. Sorry for you if you think that all "progress" is good. Going back to Dell. they're 3rd rated because they're not a new company. Companies that don't stand behind what they make will begin to crumble under the outside pressure we apply with boycotting actions. Capitalism is changing, Times are changing. Acer is known for affordable yet powerful laptops and this still stands true. I very much enjoy the Predator Helios 300 laptop i purchased from Acer and for almost 1 year had no issues with it. Now their customer support and repair facilities are another story all together. I sent my laptop in for a faulty power button which seemed to only wanna work when it felt like it. I receive a call a few days later being told that they would not repair the faulty power button until my screen was repaired. Now im confused because the only issue that my laptop had when it was sent in is a faulty power button and i tell them that the screen had not been broken. They reassure me with photos that they swear that my laptop had arrived with a broken screen ( I used enough bubble wrap that i could of played basketball with it perfectly fine). So being as is they offered to repair the screen at a cost of 687$ out of warranty cost (because it was not covered because of external damage source) before they could do the warranty repair for the faulty button. So seeing as i paid 1000$ for the laptop in the first place they want me to pay for a new one before they will fix the warranty covered button. The screen cost 54$ for a replacement. In the end i was told they would not repair my laptop and not only that i get it back with a broken screen. So i can not recommend anyone purchasing their products and warn all if you do ,do not rely on the customer support and document any case you have before you send anything in. I personally feel scammed and feel the company is at fault and is simply trying to cover their own asses so they can get out of repairing a faulty product along with more than careless staff in their repair facilities. read more

I bought a tablet that stopped charging a couple of months ago, that didn't please my kid. I was hoping it would be covered in warranty, when I called helpdesk they helped with some steps but we couldn't get the tablet to power on. I sent the tablet to repair and even though my little one wasn't happy about the wait, when we got the tablet back it was working! pretty good service from Acer! read more

Consumers should be aware of Acer's repair policy for monitors. I just received my AL2416 LEC monitor back after repair. Unfortunately I still cannot use it because the DVI port does not work. Acer tells me that because I did not specifically mention that the DVI port was not working it will be a new repair and I will have to pay for the $45 shipping. What I stated was "Monitor does not have display. Will not respond to the front on/off button." Obviously I didn't know why it wasn't displaying on my computer. I only found out that the VGA port worked when I took it to another computer to make sure the fault was not in my computer or graphics card. Fiddling around I discovered that the DVI (that I used) did not work but that the VGA which I don't use does. Acer claims that the repair was complete because one of the ports allows people to use it to display things on the monitor. Apparently only on monitors do they have this strict policy of not paying for shipping when they mess up a repair so I'd suggest that no one buy their monitors . To try to get approval for the shipping, I was transferred to another department and put on hold for 20 minutes at which point I hung up. read more

i bought the acer laptop because my grandson works there and said it was the best, well i am upset with acer because they fired him this week for being sice 3 times since may. is that fair, would you rather him come to work sick and make everyone else sick. with all the flu going around right now i think acer could have used better employee benefits and understanding than this, very upset, the next pc i buy will not be an acer. it will be american made with american ideas.... even president oboma says stay home if your sick. i think this acer company in temple texas is the sick one. read more

Acer Corp. has a terrible support process. I called the support number several for times for technical support and every time the wait time for someone to answer was in excess of 40 minutes, once over an hour. Then after someone answers I was either transfered or given another number to call, again a lengthly wait or hold time. When I asked for a refund for the support fee I again was given another number and had another 50 minute wait. I was told my case had to be investigated. I will be surprised if the money is ever refunded. I have denied the charge on my credit card. Buy another company's product not Acer. read more
