But when I bought my car a few years ago, XM was built in, and it came with a three-month free trial. Needless to say, I got hooked in those three months (favorite channel: the Pulse, formerly known as Flight 26). I still refused to pay, so I let it expire, and reluctantly went back to listening to Y-100. Then, the offers started pouring in my email inbox, and in my regular mailbox. 20% off, 30% off... finally, an offer I couldn't refuse: $77 for the whole year. Okay, XM... you got me. I called and signed up, and was told this was a one-time-only deal. A year later, I called back to cancel the service, saying I didn't want to pay the regular rate, and was offered the $77 deal again. The next year, same thing. I have had XM for three years now, and have not once paid the full rate. Gotta love it :) Now, if they could just get rid of the annoying "morning mash-up" show on ch. 20......

Almost a year and a half later im loving my own xm. i dont have a cool player like alex does, instead i opted for a updating my radio for a new radio with built in xm tuner. There are perks to it: no extra receiver to mess with, and installation was a breeze since it was just one piece. There are downs to it: i cant save songs and its practically built into my car but i knew that when getting it so all in all i love it anyway My favorite channel would have to be The Pulse (formerly flight 26, formerly VH1 radio). I usually keep it on there for the whole duration of my rides, without needing to switch to one of the other 200 plus channels they offer. Another perk of xm- instant traffic and weather for Miami. Many times XM traffic miami has saved me from sitting in my car unnecessarily. Oh one more thing, dont have a car? dont want to buy a player for the house? you can purchase xm radio for online use. its great for at work! some radio plans come with the online radio apart of it so you can get it in the car and wherever you can log in. Thanks XM for making my drives more enjoyable!
